SHU with some nice finishing today - deserve the 3 points as they probably should have scored in the 1H.

Burley questioning the Wrexham manager but man, if I'm a Wrexham fan I'd much rather get promotion than win this match.

So Wrexham is 3 levels below Sheffield?

Yes - would have been a pretty huge upset. But Wrexham is spending a ton considering the league they are in. If they go up it wouldn't be too surprising to see them go up again - Rob and Ryan seem committed to getting this club to this highest levels they can.

Totally forgot the game was today. Am I reading it right, Sheffield scored twice in Fergie time to win? Damn

Yes. Also had a goal disallowed fairly late for offside, couldn't tell if that was correct as I was sat towards the Wrexham end. They also missed a pen, but as their first was outside the box, a dive, or both, that seems fair enough. Would recommend the highlights, another game where the neutral would be entertained.

Not sure how the away fans got multiple pyro into the ground, but we got multiple inflatable sheep in to mock them so we'll call it a draw

Yep, game had a lot going on - first PK for Wrexham was a foul outside the box but it continued into the box so depending on interpretation you could argue it was a PK - I didn't think it was myself. SHU dominated most of the first half and probably should have had a goal. The 2nd PK to Wrexham was an obvious one. Would have been interesting to see what happened if Mullin converted it. The disallowed goal was definitely offside but not too much before that Wrexham got lucky as SHU should have had a penalty for obvious handball. Better team won but it was a battle - and while I'm sure Wrexham would have loved to play Kane and Tottenham it's probably for the best they lost and can focus on promotion.

Garnacho was poor first half. Bring on Sancho and put Rashford on the left or take off Weghorst and move Rashford centrally. With injuries you don’t have a lot of other options but I’d do this one from the start of the 2nd half.

The only thing worse than his hair was his diving ;)

It's like he knows he should have flopped when Meslier came out, and had been working double time to make up for it.

Agree - one of the vets needs to tell him to knock it off. Super talented and doesn’t need that nonsense.

Garnacho gives up the ball (again) ahead of the second goal.
Sancho is on a completely different level than that kid.

I think he shows flashes - he’s super young. Sancho sorted himself out apparently and got healthy so would expect him to get a lot of the minutes Garnacho has been getting. United has played a ton of games since the WC break and have a bunch more coming up, so both should get some games.

ETA - Garnacho - 18; Sancho - 22

Hard to say United didn’t deserve something but definitely not 3 points. Leeds controlled the first 5 minutes of each half and then United dominated most of the other 80. Super entertaining.

I hate playing a team who just changed managers.

I didn't get to watch as much as I wanted but it seemed several players chose today to have bad games. Garnacho was bad, Fred was Fred. Varane and Weghorst didn't do well.
Game changed when Pellestri and Sancho came on and Rashford moved central. They held the ball better.

Also seemed like every pass was an inch away from being great. Credit to Leeds for throwing themselves into it.

Let's run it back on Sunday.

Garnacho has had moments, but he still shows his rawness at times. This game screamed for Sancho earlier then they got him.

Both will have big roles to play along with Pellestri. Some serious depth there if Martial comes back....

Rashford Martial Antony
(Garnacho) (Weghorst) (Sancho)
(Elanga) (Rashford) (Pellestri)

Stating the obvious but United desperately missing Casemiro and Eriksen. And Maguire still sucks - hopefully they can showcase him just enough to suck another EPL team to take him.

United move in to 2nd (only temporarily) but I’m expecting City to make a run now. If Arsenal can avoid City winning these two upcoming games they still are looking good but they’ve looked nervy lately.

A draw between City and Arsenal on Wed is probably the best possible outcome for United. Arsenal still have one game in hand over City and two over United until then.

United v Barca on Thursday.
