Personally? I doubt it.

I'm skeptical that any kind of gun control would ever prevent these mass shootings. I do think that background checks without limitation would reduce gun violence in general.

And a majority of Americans would feel safer if more people carried conceal per Gallup (from American Rifleman which is the other side of the MSNBC coin)

Soooo.... what are they saying? Don't offer public condolences? After Col. Springs they were in trouble for not offering sympathy for the victims. Now they're in trouble for offering sympathy for the victims. Ok.

They didn't say anything over Colorado Springs because the shooting was at Planned Parenthood, which made it a harder political issue for them.

Well I could understand slamming them for silence in the first instance (though it's a close call whether that's worse or condolences followed close behind with 'protect planned parenthood!' or 'gun control!', or whatever the political theme is that will help fundraising) but it seems kind of weird or sad or kind of sick to slam someone for offering condolences here.

I also didn't understand the lack of attention paid to the victims in Col. Springs. Cop, mother, vet, heroes all, there were fundraising pages for them. Did any candidates or politicians step forward for them?

It's pretty plainly spelled out on the bottom of the cover if in some bizarre way you actually aren't feigning your ignorance here.

These guys that actually have the power to at least take steps towards combatting against this kind of thing instead block those steps to appease the gun lobbyists and then offer useless prose and prayers as if they weren't complicit in allowing this kind of thing to continue happening in the first place.

"I am one of the few people who can actually do something to help, but I think I'll just pray for them after they're dead instead."

If they want to pray, they should pray for foregiveness as they continue to walk around with their NRA-funded pockets while coincidentally rejecting even forms of gun control that are supported by the large majority of Americans.

That's why I'm saying we need to see more of it. What prevents them from sitting down with news outlets and continue to condemn these behaviors. At a minimum it is good for young Muslims to see it as that may help minimize the possibility that they get turned to this extremism. Broadcast this en masse globally - continue to expose these extremists for what they really are.
