14 Killed in Shooting in San Bernardino (2 Viewers)

I'll admit it, I hate that it's a Muslim who did this. It doesn't matter what his motivation was, that's all a lot of people will remember.

And it's bound to help Trump.
We I think we hate all this no matter what. Racism, religious zealotry, political extremism, it all reveals horrible things about our race. Look in the mirror, humanity.
It all comes down to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In-group_favoritism

Religion has mastered the art of preying on our fears and need for being part of the "in group"

Gotta be confusing with all that constantly logging into and out of the shtick account and the main account, this kind of thing is bound to happen on occasion.
no i just do not do the brohan and taking it to the bank thing when i am trying to be serious that is all sort of clear if you look back at some of my posts i guess
That is true, from someone who has followed your posting history. The shtick is muted for the serious posts.

So I turned it back to MSNBC.

Just as Fox has guests on focused on Islamic terror, MSNBC has guests on focused on gun control. A guy from Think Progress was just on, very frustrated with Republican responses (thoughts and prayers) and noting how much in contributions each guy received from the NRA. He points out that a majority of Americans are in favor of more background checks and getting assault rifles off the street, yet it can't be done because the NRA prevents it. And to those who say we shouldn't discuss this right now, this guy says angrily "why not? Why not?"

Also noted on MSNBC:

3 homicides in Baltimore today.

4 in Savannah, Georgia.

And in San Bernardino, the population is pretty desensitized, because gun violence happens almost every day.

And do you really think gun control would have prevented today?

Combine with a Trump database...

Personally? I doubt it.

I'm skeptical that any kind of gun control would ever prevent these mass shootings. I do think that background checks without limitation would reduce gun violence in general.

Certainly you shouldn't be on the no fly list and be able to legally get a firearm

This may turn out to be a isis related event but if it is it's the weirdest thing ever. I have so much trouble believing that they targeted a boardroom holiday party in a hospital for just spraying bullets...it makes no actual sense on any sort of level.

Except for that whole 2nd Amendment thing

They've always warned that they have tons of agents in the US. Seems as if these people lived in the area? At the end of the day, they are about killing people. Don't know that it really matters where it is, it's awful.

And a majority of Americans would feel safer if more people carried conceal per Gallup (from American Rifleman which is the other side of the MSNBC coin)

Results from Gallup’s annual crime poll, conducted this month, indicate the majority of people understand a gun in a trained, lawful citizen’s hands makes the world a safer place.

The poll sampled more than 1,000 people in all 50 states who are at least 18 years old. Fifty-six percent responded “safer” when asked, “Suppose more Americans were allowed to carry concealed weapons if they passed a criminal background check and training course. If more Americans carried concealed weapons, would the United States be safer or less safe?”

The number has to come as a shock to much of the mainstream media, which shies away from covering incidents in which a permit holder stops a felon. News of people willing to take charge of their well-being until authorities arrive spreads fast, though. We’ve already covered three of those criminal encounters this month, but another one is too awesome to ignore. A carjacker tried to take a car with children inside, but he didn’t expect someone with a carry permit to intervene and hold him at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived.

Gallup’s results also include a demographic breakdown. Sixty-two percent of men responded “safer” to the question, as did half of the women respondents. Forty-five percent of the females said “less safe.”

When broken down by age, it’s interesting to note the younger generation feels most strongly about the effectiveness of concealed carry. For the group between 18 and 29, inclusive, 66 percent—the study’s highest approval rating—responded “safer.” So much for the rumor that gun ownership and enthusiasm is waning.

Cair making a very positive statement

NCIS background checks through the roof after Paris. I guess we'll find out how these guns were obtained later on.

Watching this American-Islamic press conference. We need to see a lot more of these where Islamic people stand and condemn these events (ignoring for a moment whether it gets confirmed that it is religiously motivated).

Any nut job can go lone wolf. Or, perhaps we have a lone wolf that went nutso?

Soooo.... what are they saying? Don't offer public condolences? After Col. Springs they were in trouble for not offering sympathy for the victims. Now they're in trouble for offering sympathy for the victims. Ok.
They didn't say anything over Colorado Springs because the shooting was at Planned Parenthood, which made it a harder political issue for them.
Well I could understand slamming them for silence in the first instance (though it's a close call whether that's worse or condolences followed close behind with 'protect planned parenthood!' or 'gun control!', or whatever the political theme is that will help fundraising) but it seems kind of weird or sad or kind of sick to slam someone for offering condolences here.

I also didn't understand the lack of attention paid to the victims in Col. Springs. Cop, mother, vet, heroes all, there were fundraising pages for them. Did any candidates or politicians step forward for them?
It's pretty plainly spelled out on the bottom of the cover if in some bizarre way you actually aren't feigning your ignorance here.

These guys that actually have the power to at least take steps towards combatting against this kind of thing instead block those steps to appease the gun lobbyists and then offer useless prose and prayers as if they weren't complicit in allowing this kind of thing to continue happening in the first place.

"I am one of the few people who can actually do something to help, but I think I'll just pray for them after they're dead instead."

If they want to pray, they should pray for foregiveness as they continue to walk around with their NRA-funded pockets while coincidentally rejecting even forms of gun control that are supported by the large majority of Americans.

They do it every time, but it rarely gets on television.

But even so, it's late. How many people are watching this? And how can CAIR possibly compete with Donald Trump telling lies about Muslim celebrations after 9/11?

San Bernadino police just released the name of one suspect as Tayyeep Bin Ardogan, a 28 year-old Qatar citizen
Isn't that Turkey's president?
That's funny yeah his name is Tayeep Erdogan, must be a joke, apologies I deleted it.
bump from earlier - FOXNews just said this guy was a suspect - could be more bad information but not sure.

This is just weird. He's a county employee, leaves the meeting and comes back in tactical gear and an assault rifle? WTF.

This is Syed Moizullah's last fave'd video...

Religion.
Not sure what is wrong with that video, pretty much static like every other religious message I have ever heard. Not like that dude said to kill folks, he just said not to believe everything you hear.
Reporter - has seen accident.

Religious leader - has never seen God.

Which is more reliable?

Stupid video, but you're right DD it's typical idiotic religious reasoning.

That's why I'm saying we need to see more of it. What prevents them from sitting down with news outlets and continue to condemn these behaviors. At a minimum it is good for young Muslims to see it as that may help minimize the possibility that they get turned to this extremism. Broadcast this en masse globally - continue to expose these extremists for what they really are.

So, this Jester guy nailed all the names a solid 6+hrs ago

impressive

well... 2 of them anyways
