2010 FBG Post Season Contest (1 Viewer)

Anyone know if the updated Sim includes the early game today?
It is not. I have the exact same percentage as this morning.106 with Doucet, Grant, and Jennings. Feeling better about squeezing through with 8 WC players. Losing Grant and Jennings for round 2 will hurt, but I pick up my Vikes and Chargers...

Great news! I'm probably stil out, but it shows I have 69 with Edelman and Doucet today. I still have hope. :lmao:

I tried to make SD vs MIN work...my last move was to put in LT for Watson and Cundiff. I may have left round 1 too thin though...only a 47.4% chance to survive per the simulator. A TD catch from Doucet would help a lot!Philip Rivers $28 0.00 LaDainian Tomlinson $17 0.00 Darren Sproles $13 0.00 Vincent Jackson $21 0.00 Julian Edelman $11 0.00 Thomas Jones $14 0.00 New York Jets $7 0.00 Brett Favre $25 0.00 Adrian Peterson $25 0.00 Sidney Rice $19 0.00 Percy Harvin $16 0.00 Jim Kleinsasser $2 0.00 Felix Jones $8 0.00 Shaun Suisham $6 0.00 Early Doucet $5 0.00 Ryan Grant $17 0.00 Greg Jennings $16 0.00
Very nicely done... this crushes my SD/Minn built team if you make it past this week.
I hit the Edelman/Felix/Doucet trifecta...now, if the Pack can complete this big comeback, I'll love my team for next week...

Philip Rivers $28 0.00

Mike Tolbert $5 0.00

Jacob Hester $2 0.00

Malcom Floyd $10 0.00

Antonio Gates $24 0.00

Nate Kaeding $14 0.00

Larry Johnson $5 0.00

Laveranues Coles $9 0.00

Julian Edelman $11 0.00

Thomas Jones $14 0.00

Brad Smith $2 0.00

New York Jets $7 0.00

Drew Brees $29 0.00

Lynell Hamilton $2 0.00

David Thomas $7 0.00

Visanthe Shiancoe $15 0.00

Tony Romo $26 0.00

Jason Witten $19 0.00

Early Doucet $5 0.00

Ahman Green $4 0.00

Jordy Nelson $6 0.00

Leonard Weaver $6 0.00

I started out by taking all the teams i thought were going to be one and done and take the best value I could get. I tried not to spend any money for those teams.

I made sure to load up on the teams I thought were going to the super bowl which were the chargers and saints. I also thought the cowboys were going to play in 3 games so I took romo and witten.

I loaded up on cheap wideouts in edelman, coles, doucet, and nelson. That seemed to have worked well.

I also loaded up on top notch tight ends because they got more points per catch.

I made sure to take 2 dollar players if I could because that is the tie breaker. most $2 players.

if I'm reading the scoring right, does Rodgers have 37.7 points right now??

And does anyone know what the projected cut will be?

My team has a 56% chance of making it though this week. I really didn't expect this much trouble getting through Week 1.

Ok, so this is just a rant, but bear with me.

It's teams like this that drive me nuts: 100865

Cedric Benson $16 0.00

Ray Rice $16 0.00

Thomas Jones $14 0.00

Tony Romo $26 0.00

Miles Austin $22 0.00

Kurt Warner $21 0.00

Larry Fitzgerald $19 0.00

Aaron Rodgers $30 0.00

Ryan Grant $17 0.00

Greg Jennings $16 0.00

Donovan McNabb $23 0.00

DeSean Jackson $19 0.00

Jeremy Maclin $11 0.00

They spent the majority of their money($204) on NFC WC teams.

Sure this strategy will get you through week 1. In subsequent weeks they will have atleast$102 in wasted roster space, not to mention at most 6 scoring players.

Best case scenario, they somehow make it to the SB, but will undoubtedly be out-gunned.

Why even bother. Seriously!

ok rant off.
You have to plan for teams like that... I planned for a lot of them.

First-timer.....and I'll admit, I misunderstood the rules . Oops.

QB- Rodgers

QB- Manning

QB- Favre

RB-Peterson

RB-Addai

RB- Thomas Jones

RB- Felix Jones

RB-McGahee

WR- Fitzgerald

WR-S.Rice

WR-Collie

WR-Brad Smith

TE- Dallas Clark

K-Longwell

----------------------

So I had nobody playing for me from CIN, NE, or PHI.

However, for the most part the players I did have going all have done well (go Rodgers and Fitz!!).

Live and learn. Better luck next season, ha.

if my numbers are right i have 122.3 right now. That is only adding the top 2 players from each team.

At somewhere around 107 so I am out

Peyton Manning $29

Reggie Wayne $23

Dallas Clark $26

Matt Stover $10

Pierre Thomas $15

David Thomas $7

Adrian Peterson $25

Minnesota Vikings $9

Miles Austin $22

Chris Wells $10

Aaron Rodgers $30

Greg Jennings $16

Donald Driver $16

Philadelphia Eagles $11

Awesome final game on the weekend and amazingly enough my Cards came through and pulled it out. All my players advanced except Westbrook and Maclin.

Still hanging in there with my long shot all WC team. Go Cards and Ravens!

I only had 7 players this weekend, and got about 179 with them. This was just eyeing most stats very quickly though, so I'm guessing I'm off a bit. I did have Rogers and Warner both, so I'm sure a bunch of teams might have had these two guys.

134.10 but I'm afraid that won't be enough.
Should be sufficient.Half the entries rodgers and his 52 points. That slacker Warner only had 49 points.

Philip Rivers $28 0.00

Vincent Jackson $21 0.00

Antonio Gates $24 0.00

Nate Kaeding $14 0.00

Carson Palmer $19 0.00

Joe Flacco $14 0.00

Demetrius Williams $2 0.00

Mark Sanchez $13 0.00

Brad Smith $2 0.00

Tony Romo $26 0.00

Felix Jones $8 0.00

Miles Austin $22 0.00

Shaun Suisham $6 0.00

Kurt Warner $21 0.00

Aaron Rodgers $30 0.00

I'll finish up somewhere around 180 points for the week.

Lost 20% of my cap space with Rodgers and Palmer gone. I think that's OK because half the league ost Rodgers $30. I will post nine scores next week out of a possible 16. 5 of those 9 will be QBs.

Went with Dallas-Indy Superbowl, and then took two from the Jets and GB hoping to have 6 going the first week, 8 the second and at least 6 the third. I'd be feeling good if GB had won it, it'll take a miracle for me to make the cut week 3 now, if I make it that far

Peyton Manning $29

Joseph Addai $19

Reggie Wayne $23

Dallas Clark $26

Thomas Jones $14

New York Jets $7

Tony Romo $26

Felix Jones $8

Miles Austin $22

Sam Hurd $2

Kevin Ogletree $2

The only reason to pick both would be to ensure making it past the first week, since one of the 2 is out after that. It's teams like that that will make the first week so tough for a lot of SB heavily weighted teams to advance.

I actually just rescored, I think I might be over 200. Anyway, I'm very QB heavy, and will have 6 of them playing next week. I think I will make it through the first three rounds, and then lose in the last round, unless the Ravens make it to the Superbowl, which I don't think will happen. I will have a lot of QB's going each week, but would only have QB's going in the Superbowl and that pretty much eliminates me vs. all of the people who guessed the two SB teams.Oh well, didn't think it through too well at the end.

Warner did look like a huge bargain for $21. Since I built a roster around a Dallas Super Bowl, I figured Warner and Rodgers would post nice complimentary scores in week 1 and the other would help in week 2. Hopefully there huge scores will obilterate a lot of teams who loaded up on bye week players.

Went big with Colts, although no Addai/Wayne/Clark. Tried to be a bit different in that regard. Wanted to just get by this weekend. The sim has this team at 4087 iirc, so I think I accomplished that. Now just have to see what happens.Just looking at my team now though..I'm not thrilled. I had not planned on Wells and Bush but for some reason they fell into my final iteration. Late night tweaking last night seems just so-so :lmao: .Peyton Manning $29 0.00 Donald Brown $9 0.00 Austin Collie $14 0.00 Pierre Garcon $13 0.00 Indianapolis Colts $9 0.00 Thomas Jones $14 0.00 Brad Smith $2 0.00 Reggie Bush $13 0.00 Brett Favre $25 0.00 Sidney Rice $19 0.00 Kurt Warner $21 0.00 Chris Wells $10 0.00 Aaron Rodgers $30 0.00 Donovan McNabb $23 0.00 DeSean Jackson $19 0.00
I think 148.2 here. Should be good to move on unless I botched somewhere adding up.I thought Philly was going to win, so that turns into my only real miss that I hadn't planned on (I knew I'd either lose Warner/Wells or Rodgers and I was fine with that). I definitely had Romo+Jones+extra cash in some of my iterations, I just made a bad prediction.Looking good for week 3 if we have Arz vs Min and Ind vs NYJ.I definitely think 4+ QBs are the way to go in this format and your best bet at getting by week 1. Very suprised that only 499 entries had Warner and Rodgers selected (saw that noted above). Maybe the thought of knowing you'd lose one player scared people off of a strategy like that (or some probably went Fitz+arz player or Grant+Finley, for example).

I'm sitting on 138 points but only lost Brady and Eddleman from this week and still have 11/13 alive next week

I still have:

Warner

Romo

Felix Jones

Ogletree

Mason

Manning

Clark

Wayne

Sidney Rice

Pierre Thomas

Drew Brees

I was really counting on a Dallas and Indy Superbowl

No idea if I make it past this week.
I should be in good shape with 160+. Lost the GB D and Edelman. Any guesses as to what the cut off will be this week?

Looks like I finished week 1 with about 141.

Only lost Edelman and Fred Taylor.

Don't ask me what I was thinking taking Fred Taylor.

Team was : Rodgers

Grant

Doucet

Romo

Barber

Austin

Ray Rice

T Jones

Rivers

V Jackson

Gates

Kaeding

Sidney Rice

I based it on a Chargers - Cowboys Super Bowl with an outside chance of Green Bay sneaking in. I tried to go with AFC RBs this week just to squeak past the cut. Doucet was a cap move motivated by the liklihood that Boldin wouldn't play. Sometimes well thought out moves pay off far beyond reasonable expectations - another way of saying I was lucky.

133.9

If I miss by less than a point, I am writing a letter to the NFL to review the final play...that should have been an INT on Rodgers instead of a fumble.

Heh, of course folks can also protest the .1 or .2 lost when he kneeled down to end the 4th quarter instead of taking a shot

-QG

Went around several directions before finally going all in with SD-GB, plus one bonus player from each of the first two rounds. Unfortunately, Marion Barber was the wrong bonus player for round 1, and the Pack couldn't pull it out.

That, and in my haste to do the final roster revision, I completely forgot about the 'no more than 2 players per team' caveat. Had I left things alone, it turns out my original config would have kicked serious keyster. Oh well!

Joseph Addai $19 0.00

Philip Rivers $28 0.00
