Well if Chip is out, I hope its McCoy now.
QBs win championships. Andy's ability to groom QBs has kept us competitive. I would love another coach who can work with QBs.
Wouldnt be upset with some of the other names mentioned though.
IMO its McCoy or bust. None of the other guys WOW me.
mehh,
Not all that impressed with McCoy. Not really sure what exactly he's done with Peyton and he coached the Panthers? Delhomme and that offense?
Sorry, not buying how he is a hot candidate unless I'm missing something on his resume.
I'm still in the Jay Gruden camp. He's getting more out of Dalton than he should. And I see no way that Lurie goes with a defensive guy as the HC
McCoy was QB coach of the Panthers under Fox. Got a lot out of Delhomme considering he really was pretty marginal ability wise, but had consistent success and a Pro Bowl spot one year. Became Denver OC in 2009 (under McDaniels) and got 2 3500 yard passing seasons out of Kyle Orton where his QB rating was 10 points higher than either before or after those 2 years under McCoy. In 2011 changed the offense mid season after the switch to Tebow @ QB, and was able to win a playoff game with a guy who simply is not an NFL passer.
Admittedly you wouldn't expect anything less than what's being done this year with Manning, but I like McCoy for what he's done before this year. He's a coach who will get the most out of the talent that the team has, and has shown he can do that with different players and different teams.
Gruden is not a bad option as well, but doesn't have the same track record. McCoy has shown he can replicate his success, Gruden hasn't yet, but still might in the future.
