Since Blackmon is a popular trade subject lately, this is one that went down a couple weeks ago.

Interesting. I generally would prefer Graham, but I think I would take Blackmon / Cook + 2 picks.

That's fair. Not wanting to argue semantics or argue anything really. Just having a discussion.

The majority of Dynasty leagues I'm in the startups were done in the 2011 off season. So when Gresham, Gronk, Graham, Hernandez, and Moeaki were entering their second year. Most of these were 1.5 TE PPR leagues and I went after all these guys but got most of them except Graham who was a third round type at the time.

Between the other's I rated Gresham the highest followed in order as Gronk, Hernandez, and Moeaki. In one league I got all 4 of them but in every league I got at least Gronk and one more of the group. Gresham was a 6th-7th rounder at the time, the two NE"s were 7-8 round range and Moeaki was a late 11th-12th rounder.

So at one point I admit that I had Gresham rated over the NE's in large part because of his rookie year.. But when he did not show big second year improvement I moved him. Same for Moeaki and I"ll move Fleener and/or Allen next year in the leagues I own them if they don't spike their production up.

Don't know if Moeaki should be on that list, seeing as how he tore his ACL. And Gresham was young coming into the league, dealt with some injuries, and has still improved on his numbers every year. I personally am not ready to write him off. I'll admit he hasn't been a target of mine, as there seems to be at least one guy per league really high on him. But I certainly wouldn't be selling. And if his price keep dropping, I could send some offers.

I consider Moeaki's year two to be last year. Yes he was coming back from injury but he's obviously lost value, it's not a case of give him another year removed from the ACL and he'll be back. It appears he lost his job as TE1 on his team.

I thought and continue to think that yes Fasano will be the starting TE for the Chiefs. Not sure of the entire details of his contract but $4.5 mill guaranteed on a 4 year $16 million does not seem like backup TE money. Moeaki seemed super talented but not sure he'll ever the same or can ever be counted on. His injury history going back to college is about as extreme as you'll ever see.

If you are happy with Gresham's performance I see no reason he's going to dip and it's realistic to expect some continued slight growth. I just think he is what he is, at least in this offense. I don't want to beat this to death any more than I already have so I'll just add this last comment.

Now is a good time to take a shot on Fleener for a 2nd round rookie pick. I saw many Stanford games over the past few years and I think he's a much better athlete than Ertz, who some tab as a potential late first round pick tonight. Long term, I still think he has a chance to be the better FF weapon than Allen. And I'm of the mind that Indy's passing game has a chance to be like Green Bay and New Orleans with its ability to elevate the production of its players.

The downside with Fleener is that he's a bit old for a 2nd year player and he has a tendency to get dinged up. He's never had a serious injury, but gets nicked up very easily.

Indeed, drafting a TE the year he turns 25 has been the downfall of many a dynasty team.

He was the same age as Jimmy Graham when he was drafted.

I'm not opposed to drafting seniors or even fifth year players, but bear in mind that all else being equal, it's more impressive to earn X draft grade as a 20-21 year old college junior than as a 22-23 year old fifth year senior. Kind of like how it's more impressive for a high school sophomore to be a starter on the varsity team than a high school senior, albeit to a much lesser degree since the development gap between 16-18 year olds is probably a lot wider than between 20-22 year olds.

So many thoughts on this one but the short version is I think you won this trade and easily.

I knew CKC would eventually land a RB with all of his assets and he did. He's also still flush with enough assets to acquire more RB's or whatever else he needs and his team is still easily the best in the league but I think this was a case of selling low and buying high.

I'm bummed you took Miller one pick before me in the second round last year but that one pick had massive ramifications on my team, and the league for that matter,and I'm not sure yet if it's going to be good or bad yet but right now it stings a little to see him turned into RG3. On my end I lost out on David Wilson by one pick in the first and Miller by one pick in the secon last year and each time I lost out I picked a Colt TE. So once I lost out on my RB's I hoped to land and feeling better at TE I opted to pursue moving Gronk to CKC for Trent Richardson. So just funny to me how the difference of one pick in the second round has had such massive ramifications for our league.

I've bashed him enough but this only further illustrates the poor job the original owner of RG3 did with him. He's the one that needed to get younger and rebuild instead he wasted an entire year sitting on both Luck and RG3. Maybe I don't agree with the value CKC got for RG3 but at least he was active and moved him instead of sitting on him all year and doing nothing like the original owner who picked him. This is why non-active owners don't win.

I can't go back and look now but I know exactly what it was I went $208 and you went $204 but I never knew who it was that went the $204. And yes I was barely outbid for Bryce Brown too I kicked myself all year for losing Kaepernick and Bryce Brown by such small bids (I had like $500 left with 2 weeks to go in the season) bad misplay by me there especially on Kapernick but I thanked my lucky stars for getting Morris by $4 every week of the year. I just wish I had got Morris in my other league I went $268 but 1 guy went $357 and I finsihed 2nd place because my RB's combined for 18 pts in the 2 week championship round costing me the championship.

Thanks. I'm liking it more and more moving forward. In that format I'd be almost forced to grab EJ Manuel (start 2QB). I know this because I watched the draft with the owner I gave the 1.01 to and that's who he is taking. I'm really starting to feel this draft class is as good at 2.1 as it is at 1.1 -just a total crap shoot. I don't like Patterson in Minnesota. Of the guys picked so far I'd lean Hopkins. But he'll be the second or third option on a run oriented team. Tavon is not somebody I'd invest a 1.01 rookie pick on. Lacy going to Green Bay, St. Louis, or Miami would buoy his value somewhat but I think the league has spoken on where these backs belong. Glad I've trade out of the top half of this draft.
