2013 Off Season Dynasty Trade Thread (for completed trades) (3 Viewers)

16 team league ppr start QB, 2RB,2WR,TE

Team A got A Rodgers

Team B got E Manning, Lesean McCoy, 1.9 and 1.10

Team A still has D Martin and Spiller at RB

QB/2RB/2WR/TE/K, RB/WR/TE flex

Team A gives: Mike Wallace, 2.07

Team B gives: Russell Wilson, '14 2nd

Team A optimal lineup

Wilson

DMC, Lamar Miller

Julio, Cobb, Harvin

Gronk

Bench

Knowshon, Vereen, Daryl Richardson, DWill, Steve Smith, Boldin, Alshon, VD

Team B optimal lineup

Cam

TRich, Martin, Morris/David Wilson

Jennings, Wallace

Fleener/Allen

Bench

Ingram, Mike Floyd, Stephen Hill, Streater

I thought it was a pretty fair trade. One team picks up a WR2, and another gets their starting QB

12 Team PPR

QRRWWTKD + 2 flex, one flex can be a QB

I gave Harvin

I got Ridley

I was low on RB depth and huge on WRs, with Mega, Dez, Cobb and Torrey still on my team. He wanted Harvin.

I don't love the Ridley in PPR and I like the Pats even less. But it was the best deal I could make...with good RBs being scarce and difficult to extract.
Well, OK. But, honestly, if that was the best deal I could make, then I would rather keep him and hope to make a better deal during the season.
Sometimes panic sets in...done it myself. Bad move from a value standpoint and the fact that the Pats traded for Blount.
Panic in April??

1.02 for Blackmon
Wow! That's cheap.
No kidding. I have to give both right and left arms in my league for him. I cannot imagine what the owner receiving the 1.02 is that excited about landing.
A starting RB is what he told me.
I'm sitting on the 1.2 in a league that I'm desperate as could be for a RB2. I would definitely reject a Blackmon for 1.2 offer. Also I understand the desire to pick BAP and deal later but some leagues, like this one, deals are few and far between so I'd never spend a high pick on a player with the goal to acquire a trade asset in a league like this one.

Now while I imagine most of you understand the scenario above I also would reject an offer of Blackmon for the 1.2 if I did not need a RB and Tavon Austin was still on the board. With the Blackmon lovefest going on around here I imagine that's not a popular opinion but it's mine. It's not as if I don't like Blackmon, I'd rate him as the second best player in the draft, but I like Austin more and think that based on the trades I've seen here lately his cost is not in line with his value.

Panic in April??
It's a tale of five trades. Of which, this one sucked.

Starts in March:

  • Arian Foster, Romo for Cobb, 1.01 and 2014 1st (will be top four)
  • 1.01 for 1.06 and 2014 1st (will be top four)
  • 1.06 for Torrey Smith
  • Percy Harvin for Ridley
  • Ridley and Jared Cook for MJD and 2014 1st (could be anywhere)
I will admit, the Harvin for Ridley deal is the crudiest. Bad deal. Without going into the intimate details that nobody cares about, I really like the other four deals as they apply to my roster, pre-Rookie Draft. Could I have done better? In a league where everyone reads Football Guys forums, yeah. This ain't one of those leagues.

Meantime, doin' the best I can, kids.

The best you can on that one is DO NOTHING.

If I am selling a car for 10 grand, I am not going to take 2 grand just cause it's the best offer I have gotten to that point.

So you traded:

Arian Foster, Tony Romo, Percy Harvin, Jared Cook

for:

MJD, Randall Cobb, Torrey Smith

3 x 2014 1st

All together not bad if you believe in MJD going forward and you have another QB.

You must be really high on the 2014 class.

It happens. The Foster/Cobb and the 1.06/Torrey deals were clear winners. The 1.01 for 1.06/1st was very good as well. Not too bad overall.

So you gave up a lot of value for a QB2? I don't get it. Even for a start 2QB

If it was a start 2QB or a super flex, it was a good trade. Especially if you think Bradford will take that next big step with a talented group of receiving weapons (I personally think it will be small steps, still). But Mathews value is next to nothing. Getting Bradford in a league where QB's are worth a premium would be a good deal. But I'm not sure this was a 2QB or super flex league.

I realize a lot of people were burned by Mathews last year ( I was one of them), but to say his value is next to nothing is erroneous. He's a clear cut starting RB on a team that upgraded its offensive line while bringing in no competition for him via the draft.

Try to trade him, then tell me where his value is.Could make him a hold rather than a sell, but the point stands that his market value is nil right now. That doesn't change the fact that this trade wouldn't be selling him cheap, IF it's a 2QB league.

I've always been a DMC and Britt believer, but I don't really have the roster to gamble on them. So luckily, I may have found an even bigger DMC/Britt believer.

12 team PPR.

Gave:

DMC

Britt

3.08

Got:

David Wilson

Josh Gordon

1.5

I like this trade very much. I look at the 1.5 as a bonus.

I'm a big enough of a DMC believer that I still prefer him over Wilson but it's close and certainly not enough to make me not love this trade for you. Give me Gordon over Britt and no need to explain the draft pick advantage.

Thanks guys. I thought it worked out very well. I also saw the 1.5 as a total bonus freebie, so I swung for the fences with Patterson. Didn't hurt that I needed a WR.Meno, I agree. I don't clearly prefer Wilson to DMC, but the value was beyond right and I don't really have the roster depth to mess with DMC's injuries and still compete.

12 team PPR IDP league

I gave:

1.01, 3.01

I got:

Larry Fitzgerald.

I owned picks 1.1 and 1.4 and have been trying all offseason to unload one or both for a top RB. Best offer I received was both picks for Jamaal Charles, which I didn't take. Fitzgerald makes my starting 4 WRs as Julio Jones, Hakeem Nicks, Larry Fitz, and TB Mike Williams. Still have Arian Foster as one starting RB, and will use my remaining 1.4 to likely take whomever is left between Lacy, Bernard, Bell, and Ball. At least this way I don't have to make the choice and choose incorrectly, and I felt that Fitz gave me a dominating set of WRs.

I would have taken the Charles deal in a heartbeat, but this is good too.

Just never been a fan of Charles, for better or for worse. For two top-4 picks, was looking more in the Richardson/Martin group, but of course those guys weren't budging (probably for good reason!). Just not a good year to have 2 high picks...hopefully I will not have another one next season as well!

Did a couple draft day trades in one of my leagues. 12 team ppr starting 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 3 FLEX, 1 TE.

Deal #1:

Gave: 1.13 (extra pick at the end of the first round), Knowshon Moreno

Got: Rashard Mendenhall

Deal #2:

Gave: Matt Schaub, 2.03, 3.05, 2014 2nd

Got: Matt Ryan, 4.10

What's up with people selling Blackmon so cheap?
I was thinking what's up with him being involved in so many trades period?

As for why so cheap? That last trade was dirt cheap but I thought he's been going kind of high myself. But to those who are selling him cheap I would guess most of them are concerned with his meager production with Gabbert under center. Is that a valid reason to be concerned? Probably not for his long term value because if Gabbert fails to get him the ball he probably won't be playing with him for long, if at all. Is it a concern for next season or as long as Gabbert remains the QB? I'd say a little. It could just very well be that the "lights went on" for Blackmon later in the year and he also was little dinged up early in the year if I recall correctly and he'd have picked up his play regardless of the QB but his stats were so crappy with Gabbert it's difficult to be totally dismissive of it as it relates to his value next year and a lot of owners are not the patient sort.

Robbery
I'm not gonna lie, I was surprised to see that offer float through my inbox, but the other guy is a savvy owner with a good team. He already has Russell Wilson and I guess he felt Ryan was expendable. QBs don't carry a massive value in this league. I sold Rodgers a little cheaply in this league a couple weeks ago, partially for that reason.
