2013 Off Season Dynasty Trade Thread (for completed trades) (4 Viewers)

Team A gave: Blackmon, 1.12

Team B gave: Wallace, Britt
I'll take Wallace and Britt.
I'm pretty low on Britt right now, so this is close to me. But I'd take Wallace and Britt, too. After lowering Wallace's value after the trade, it's starting to rebound with the more thought I give it. The money is a very good sign, and I have read some nice things about Tannehill's arm. I'd still take Blackmon, but it's closer for me that it is to most, I think.

Britt, as much as I hate having him on my roster, is worth a good deal more than the 1.12.
This is from a new startup and Blackmon was my target during the draft, but he got taken earlier than I wanted and had to settle for Wallace. I like Britt but my WR's are now Julio, Cobb, Nicks and Blackmon (start 1-4). Giving up Britt was tough but I think Blackmon could become untouchable after this year. The 1.12 looks like it will still be a good player as well.
Blackmon's got a few more years of risky #### happening to him whereas it seems Britt/Wallace have worn thin on some, for this, Blackmon is the safer side and does have a nice ability so it's not a bad deal. We know he is not completely fool's gold.

Perhaps I am biased as I saw Britt this past week and he is a physically imposing killer monster man. And Wallace.. he's alright..
Turned the 1.12 into Lattimore. I'm happy with it since I see as much potential in Lattimore as Britt and Britt would have been on my bench most of the time anyway.

Just so you guys could see from a value standpoint, I was offered M. Austin, D. Alexander and a 2013 2nd Round Pick for DeAndre Hopkins but declined.

Deal #2: Gave: Matt Schaub, 2.03, 3.05, 2014 2ndGot: Matt Ryan, 4.10
Robbery
I'm not gonna lie, I was surprised to see that offer float through my inbox, but the other guy is a savvy owner with a good team. He already has Russell Wilson and I guess he felt Ryan was expendable. QBs don't carry a massive value in this league. I sold Rodgers a little cheaply in this league a couple weeks ago, partially for that reason.
The initial reaction is to call it theft, but Schaub got a big boost in Hopkins and would be at worst put up high QB2 numbers. It's also 3 decent picks that could turn into some nice players (the 2.03 was used on Wheaton). I like the Ryan side but it's closer than it initially appeared.

What's up with people selling Blackmon so cheap?
I was thinking what's up with him being involved in so many trades period?

As for why so cheap? That last trade was dirt cheap but I thought he's been going kind of high myself. But to those who are selling him cheap I would guess most of them are concerned with his meager production with Gabbert under center. Is that a valid reason to be concerned? Probably not for his long term value because if Gabbert fails to get him the ball he probably won't be playing with him for long, if at all. Is it a concern for next season or as long as Gabbert remains the QB? I'd say a little. It could just very well be that the "lights went on" for Blackmon later in the year and he also was little dinged up early in the year if I recall correctly and he'd have picked up his play regardless of the QB but his stats were so crappy with Gabbert it's difficult to be totally dismissive of it as it relates to his value next year and a lot of owners are not the patient sort.
I owned Blackmon in 2 PPR leagues. I was not looking to sell in either but received several offers so people were looking to buy. In one league, I wound up taking the following:

Gave:

Blackmon

Pierce

Received:

Hernandez

2013 Pick 1.09

I thought this was a very even trade but took it because I was much stronger at WR than TE (guy who offered was the opposite). I've rejected a few offers in the other league, the best of which was 1.05+1.07 for Blackmon.

That's one's very fair. I've just been confused by the ones where people used a high pick on him the previous year and gave him up for relatively little after he'd broken out. We've already seen the QB situation doesn't matter and it can only get better.

I think you won by a huge margin. Maybe I'm low on Blackmon, but I wouldn't give Hernandez for Blackmon/Pierce, much less adding in the 1.09 too.

Or, the deal was in fact a robbery as you indicated. There is a huge gap between Ryan and Schaub that a couple of 2nds and a 3rd can't fill imo.

No kidding. I traded Ray Rice and Shonn Greene for Blackmon and 1.03 a few weeks ago. Seeing these trades, I'm feeling pretty crummy about my trade now.
:bag:

Nevermind. The trade was for Crabtree, not Blackmon. For some strange reason I always get those guys mixed up in my head.

12 team PPR IDP league

I gave:

1.01, 3.01

I got:

Larry Fitzgerald.

I owned picks 1.1 and 1.4 and have been trying all offseason to unload one or both for a top RB. Best offer I received was both picks for Jamaal Charles, which I didn't take. Fitzgerald makes my starting 4 WRs as Julio Jones, Hakeem Nicks, Larry Fitz, and TB Mike Williams. Still have Arian Foster as one starting RB, and will use my remaining 1.4 to likely take whomever is left between Lacy, Bernard, Bell, and Ball. At least this way I don't have to make the choice and choose incorrectly, and I felt that Fitz gave me a dominating set of WRs.
I would take Larry's side even with their QB/OLine issues

12 Team PPR Devy

I gave:

Chris Ivory

2.01 (Roughly 2.09-2.11 in normal rookie draft based on who was taken last year in the devy draft)

I received:

Antonio Brown

Received: David Wilson, Michael Floyd and 1.4 rookie

Side note: This is the second CJ Spiller for David Wilson trade I've made this offseason.

What's your roster like? Good haul if rebuilding. Wouldn't make the deal if I was a top 4-5 team.

Don't like it. But it can certainly go either way.

Part of it also probably has a lot to do with what get when you inevitably trade pick 4.

Awesome deal for you. That 1.4 pick was essentially free, IMO.

Answer is both top 4-5 and rebuilding.

The team was a top 4-5 team going into 2013 in my estimation (did just ok last two years finishing 2nd and 3rd), but I decided to overhaul because (i) the team was not dominant, (ii) like most teams, this one would require luck to win it all (rather than winning by brute force); (iii) in a high stakes league like this, I'm not a fan of making the playoffs just to "see what happens" and (iv) this league is ripe for a dominant dynasty team to emerge in the next year or two with all of the good teams in this league so evenly matched and starting to show some age (i.e., not dominant). Teams luck into championships all the time, but I'd rather rebuild in a high stakes league than go into a season relying on being that one lucky team. As it now stands, while making the playoffs is no longer the goal this year, if a few young guys hit, I could find myself there anyway in which case "getting lucky" while rebuilding would be welcomed.

Fact is though, I would do this trade for almost any team as evidenced by my other similar trade involving the clear cut top team in that particular league. Here, the value was too good to pass up.

I don't think I'll be trading the 1.4 this time around. Picks are a "buy" right now for the chance to hit it big at fairly reasonable prices.

First of all, I love Spiller. He's the #3 RB on my board and would probably be my #1 RB but for his advanced age (yes, I know he is "only" turning 26). Spiller is > Wilson, but not by a whole lot imo. Wilson is my RB4 or RB5 (sometimes RB6), depending on when you ask me (leaning towards RB4 right now), based on the combination of his exciting skills, upside, opportunity and age.

People have gone too far imo on discounting this year’s picks. 1.4 is a serious bump. Floyd is no slouch either (13th pick overall, just started to emerge late in the year, very good size/speed combo).

Where most may see this trade favoring the Spiller side (as with my prior trade) and this trade as being below “market” (which it probably is), I see it as an incredible value.

16 team, PPR.

Gave: 2.16, Tony Moeaki

Got: Andre Brown, Delone Carter, 2014 3rd

In general I don't like giving up the best player in a trade, like you did, and I hate it even moreso in smaller roster size leagues. It's a ballsy trade because I've also got Spiller rated as my #3 RB. And with all that being said I still agree with the deal and pretty much every part of your thought process behind it.

12 team PPR dynasty

I gave:

1.6

2.1

Locker

Housler

Hawkins

Golden Tate

3.12

I got:

Chris Johnson

James jones

Malcolm Floyd

Santonio Holmes

M. Bennett

Gates

3.8

Believe it or not zero! Was sent to me and I accepted with no dialogue. But normally you are correct it would probably take a dozen emails. Thoughts on the deal?

Zealots non-PPR league. All tds are 6 pts.

Gave: Mike Wallace

Got: Russell Wilson

I only had Freeman as a viable QB (a bunch of garbage otherwise).

Now I have even more options with the 1.1 I own. Could go WR or RB there.

This looks almost familiar, only my league being ppr

Do you approve or disapprove of the non-ppr trade. I'm not exactly a believer in Wallace. Too inconsistent for me.

Pretty close, but you needed a QB so it's a good move.

12 team, 0.5 PPR. Start 1/2/3/1

I give: 1.04/2014 2nd (prob top half)

I get: Garçon/2014 1st

Condition is if he finishes in the top 4 (pick 1.09-1.12), he gives me his 2014 2nd.

The 1st could be anywhere (he was pick 1.11 in 2012 and is pick 1.02 this year).

Superflex trade.

Gave: Chris Johnson, a 2014 (mid) 2nd Rounder

Got: Kevin Kolb, 1.03, a 2014 (late) 1st rounder.

I did it because I have 7 starting running backs and really dislike Chris Johnson. The plan is to take EJ Manuel with the pick, if he doesn't slide then I'll go Hopkins or Patterson.

B/c he plays on a team with gigantic QB questions, and he has had character issues.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 12m

Jaguars former first-round pick WR Justin Blackmon is being suspended four games by the NFL, per league sources. More on NFL Live now.
I wonder if this suspension is going to be for PEDs.

Edit:

NFL suspended Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
Blackmon has been arrested twice for drunk driving, but both offenses were settled before he signed his Jaguars contract. He was not suspended. It means he's committed a new violation. The Jags protected themselves against future transgressions in Blackmon's contract, writing in language that wiped away all his post-signing bonus ($7.11 million) guarantees if he were suspended. Blackmon will be eligible to return October 6 against the Rams. The Jags now have a massive hole opposite Cecil Shorts. Mohamed Massaquoi will likely be asked to step in while Jordan Shipley mans the slot.

Sorry man, you got really taken on that one. Oof.
Yeah, I thought than would be the response. But I don't know what it is, if it's the qb situation or the knucklehead factor, I don't know if he'll ever live up to the hype.

If your team is already stacked at RBs, I can see this trade as improving it for the future so you would stay ahead of the curve. If you are a perennial playoff bubble team, I wouldn't do it

I like it for you. Even though you are getting older, you are getting good players that you can start weekly. I think your 1.6 is probably the best piece you gave away.(This is coming from a guy who loved locker when he was at washington and also owns Housler if every league he plays).
