TOE BLISTER :0Drew Storen left today's game with some kind of injury.
Rafael Soriano to the red courtesy phone, please
A full recovery is expected
Soriano isn't on the Nats roster anymore. I assume this blister is nothing and guess that Casey Janssen would be up next if Drew misses time? Of course Janssen missed some time recently.Drew Storen left today's game with some kind of injury.

I guess if they go 0-12 and Mike Olt is completely unproductive and they still miss the WC by a game they'll have a gripe. They're going to miss the wild card by a game leading to riots and the ritual slaughter of all goats in greater Chicagoland. We all knew he was going back down. Why is everyone so bent out of shape about it? Sure, it sucks, but that's the way it is. 12 games now or 162 6 years from now. How many wins, guys?http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/12587428/kris-bryant-javier-baez-addison-russell-sent-minors-chicago-cubsThe Chicago Cubs have reassigned top prospect Kris Bryant, who leads the majors with nine spring training home runs, to their minor league camp.
The Cubs made the move Monday, less than a week before they open their season against the St. Louis Cardinals.
I'm pretty sure he meant the Nats would sign Soriano if there was a significant injury here. I wouldn't rule out them signing him as it is... Clippard will be missed and Janssen isn't healthy.Soriano isn't on the Nats roster anymore. I assume this blister is nothing and guess that Casey Janssen would be up next if Drew misses time? Damn Nats are all kindsa banged up.
Yes, that's what I meant. Storen hurt. Janssen hurt. Clippard traded. I actually like Aaron Barrett a lot but I'm not sure they'd give him the closer job. A knowledgable fan would understand that it's a smart business move that will benefit the team they root for in the long run.because they have to sell that to the fanbase, it leaves a bad taste in bryants mouth, and im sure the rest of his teammates want the player that gives them the best chance to win now.Why would any organization not do this for an extra year of player control? It's a business, "class" has nothing to do with anything.I know its the smart move but its pretty low class move to keep the guy down 2 weeks if he earned the spot.

You should have thought of that before you bought tickets for a Twins gameWhen do teams typically stop playing their everyday starters in Spring Training? I've got tickets to the Red Sox vs. Twins game on Friday 4/3 and my son is concerned he's "not going to see anyone he knows". Both teams open on the road on 4/6.
My first game at Fenway at age 8 was the last Saturday of the 1976 season. Sox already were out of it ... no Fisk, Lynn or Yaz in the lineup. But I did get to see one of Ernie Whitt's 8 games with the Sox before he was taken by the Blue Jays in the expansion draft.tell your son to shut his face and appreciate the fact that he gets to see live baseball

If you're in a deep league you might want to take a flier on the ageless Matt Thornton as Storen's backup until Janssen recovers, which I'm starting to think might be a little while. Barrett's a possibility with the wipeout slider but he has control/head issues, not sure they'll trust him to close yet. Thornton's still sold. and the Nats love him. Posting a 0.00 post-trade ERA tends to win you some supporters in the org.jfranco77 said:Yes, that's what I meant. Storen hurt. Janssen hurt. Clippard traded. Good point, but the tickets were free and the boy was more concerned about not seeing his favorite Red Sox players (Pedroia and Papi). You should have thought of that before you bought tickets for a Twins gameWhen do teams typically stop playing their everyday starters in Spring Training? The plan is to get there 2 hours before first pitch, I've got passes to get on the field for BP and take a tour of the stadium. I would guess Uggla and not Espinosa gets those at bats. Maybe Espinosa vs really tough righties, but he is just terrible. So Rendon going for 3rd opinion back in Colorado after Dr. Andrews confirmed 1st opinion. Any guess on where the 4th opinion will be?
Anyways, are the Nats looking like Yunel at 3b (which would give him ss/3b instead of ss/2b) and Espinosa at 2b to start the year? Both getting regular ABs?

Hard to speculate how long Rendon will be out but the first two docs said, "an MCL sprain with a recovery time in weeks."
I have a draft tonight, I'm wondering how far Rendon will fall.
....and Ian Stewart on the keyboardsThey might just stick Frandsen at 3B. Do they have room on the 25-man for Espinosa, Uggla, Frandsen?
Yunel is gonna play third as per the chatter today. They might just stick Frandsen at 3B. Do they have room on the 25-man for Espinosa, Uggla, Frandsen?

One guy in my draft was on autodraft, he got Rendon at 19.
Uggla is getting a World Series ring for his four games of futility with the Giants last year (0-11, 6 SO, 3 Errors).Tim Wallach or Larry Parrish would be better right now than Uggla.
Not McAllister. Gamble on talent now, especially in a weekly pts league, and if it doesn't work and you need to look for potential over achievers later they will be there.Daywalker said:Any thoughts on Aaron Sanchez, Z. McCallister or K. Gausman?
Currently have Gausman due to the pedigree.
Sanchez has a rotation spot and a solid pedigree. McCallister apparently flashing increased velocity 95+ in ST and has earned a rotation spot.
Thinking of dropping Gausman for one of the two. In a pts league where any 2-start pitcher normally is started.
Frandsen released. Escobar at 3B and Uggla at 2B vs. the Marlins today in Jupiter.jfranco77 said:They might just stick Frandsen at 3B. Do they have room on the 25-man for Espinosa, Uggla, Frandsen?
Uggla's hitting .282/.451/.513 in Spring Training. Obviously that comes with the usual Spring Training caveat. But he's also got 11 walks and 7 Ks in 51 plate appearances. Same number of walks he had in 157 PAs in 2014, when he had 46 Ks.Encyclopedia Brown said:Tim Wallach or Larry Parrish would be better right now than Uggla.

He's had his moments. I'm stilll skeptical, but fangraphs had a piece about how he could salvage his potential like his teammate did. Of course, this time of year, there's about 25 "next Carlos Carrascos" out there.McAllister is talented. Not McAllister. He was solid as a starter at the end of the year last year, albeit in a limited sample. And he's been very good this spring. That's good enough for me if I'm just picking someone up or drafting them late. Sanchez has been a mess, and Gausman hasn't pitched much yet. He's had his moments.
