Dodds is strongly in the CJ/RJ camp. That said I think his 4-56 projection is insanely light.

The goal is to make the upper tier at the end of the regular season. That means a top 25% finish. To do that you'll need some big scoring weeks. I like guys like Bush and Sanders to post huge weeks more than Jennings.

I also am in the good predicament of having a deep bench. Not sure if I want to package some guys for an elite RB, but thinking about it...problem is, I alsways feel as though depth is an issue in this league, so I may stand pat.

Ended up 5-2 (very lucky) with 128 points (even with Fitz just putting up 3 points).

Good news:

Of course, this is my best fantasy team I own this year (no money involved...grrrr). I waited on RB and got rewarded with Bush, Jennings and Chris Johnson. My later WRs paid off too (Benjamin and Streater) and went again all my urges to wait on QB and jumped in and grabbed Stafford.

Bad news:

While I am so thankful for the depth I have, I am going to have headaches deciding who to start each week. If I go 4 WR (which means I'd still have a guy like Fitz, Benjamin or Sanders on he bench), I also put two of the following on the bench (CJ2K, Jennings, Bush). Not sure whether I should strike a 2-1 deal to move my depth or hold tight as injuries and byes are inevitable.

WR group looks reasonably deep even without an elite player: Cobb, Edelman, M.Wallace, S.Smith, Boldin, R.Woods, T.Austin

could maybe use another TE, but hopefully Rudolph has a big year there. maybe need a QB upgrade at some point, but Kaepernick/Tannehill should hopefully be solid enough.

We should be taking advantage of this to strengthen our teams. people should post where they have excess and need help.

Intra trades after week one are historically rare, and are very difficult to get approved. The 5% rule is an independent measuring stick meant to prevent boards manipulation. The biggest reason why Intra trades are cut off after week 1 is because it becomes too easy after a week or two to manipulate and leaves no independent measuring stick. The only exceptions made to this rule (the 5% rule) are deals involving players drafted after the 12th round, and only ignored completely for players drafted after about pick 180. No exceptions are made to the week 1 deadline. An 18th rounder for a late 17th will get approved. An 18th rounder for a 15th generally will not.

Trades that make sense in any other league simply can't get approved without making exceptions to a rule that in the end is absolutely vital to the IBL league's success. I realize that can be frustrating but the truth is that there are 84 other individuals to trade with and there are no restrictions on how to trade with them.

If you need to make a deal, you're better off looking to the other boards unless it's a swap of late round players or guys drafted at virtually the same draft slot.

is the players ADP across all drafts taken into consideration or just the draft spot you happened to get the guy in?....is he attached to that draft spot no matter what....?for instance we got Wilson at a major discount....12th round....it's why we took him......he went in the 8th, 9th, and 3 times in the 10th in other drafts......but is he stuck with hiis 12th round tag in every trade I want to use him in......and does the guy that got him in the 8th round get to use that price for him......?

It seems ludicrous to me that players stay attached to their draft slot. We all know that where a player was drafted means nothing anymore... If I want to give Jennings and RG3 to Ref for Wilson shouldn't that be my choice? Who cares if Wilson was drafted after RG3? Swapping similarly valued QBs with a WR3 bump is really that big of deal? We all know sometimes you give up some value to get a player you want...

rene...if that trade gets denied...I will be asking you to take it to the appeal process based on wilson's 12th round draft spot being an outlier and his adp across all drafts would put him in the same adp zip code as jennings.....

hopefully this cluster #### will be the enough to initiate getting rid of after draft intras....

I'll be honest...if the dodds thing is going to stay in place for intras and the intra trade process is only going to be used half ###....then I say do away with it....

it seems like the only intent is for teammates to be able to bail each other out.....I know we have talked in here about covering for stuff like that

I say screw that.....if you are going to roll the dice and only draft one qb or one pk or whatever so that you can try to add depth somewhere else.....I think you should be on your own....it's part of the risk reward thing and the decsion you make heading into the first week of the season....trade with the other 84 owners....

It seems ludicrous to me that players stay attached to their draft slot. We all know that where a player was drafted means nothing anymore... If I want to give Jennings and RG3 to Ref for Wilson shouldn't that be my choice? Who cares if Wilson was drafted after RG3? Swapping similarly valued QBs with a WR3 bump is really that big of deal? We all know sometimes you give up some value to get a player you want...

The counter to this argument is that their are still 84 other trade partners for each of us where draft slot really is meaningless. The reason for such an early deadline at all is for the exact reason you state- values change so much that draft slot has less meaning with every passing day, and thus the rule eventually works AGAINST it's original purpose. Before week two was thought to be a point where things still lean more towards draft slot.

Trades post-draft were really only allowed to give TEAM'S a way to overcome one drafter's mistake. IE: getting them a kicker, DST, or TE if they neglected to draft one. Part of the problem is that we are caught here between thinking as a team and thinking as individuals.

I'll be honest...if the dodds thing is going to stay in place for intras and the intra trade process is only going to be used half ###....then I say do away with it....

it seems like the only intent is for teammates to be able to bail each other out.....I know we have talked in here about covering for stuff like that

I say screw that.....if you are going to roll the dice and only draft one qb or one pk or whatever so that you can try to add depth somewhere else.....I think you should be on your own....it's part of the risk reward thing and the decsion you make heading into the first week of the season....trade with the other 84 owners....

Keep in mind that the "Dodds machine" is a completely independant measuring stick which works well in the first half of drafts. Nobody is suggesting it works well post draft, and NUMEROUS >5% deals get approved when they involve late round picks.

This whole thing is going to force a change in the rules altering the INtra deadline for future years.
