#NYR Injury Update: @DerekStepan21 suffered a fractured fibula and is meeting with doctor..no estimate yet on how long he will be out
that's going to really hurt his speed
Yes, but they do have neutral zone speed on Dobber:

More from Justin Bourne’s excellent series on unique team traits. This time he talks about the Rangers’ neutral zone speed. I can’t get enough of these articles.

hate watching games through the net. maybe fans need to start wearing cages to the games if they aren't going to pay attention.
I used to think it would be a pain, but my seats are on the end with the sight line above the glass, and most of the time, I'm barely noticing the netting even is there. Netting all the way around would be a little extreme, though.

Just cage the entire rink, it would be like a trip to the zoo. Look kids, watch how well these humans are trained. Then hope you get the circus shoutout at the end. Zoo and circus 2 for 1, fun for the whole family.

Will be hitting up the Wells Fargo tomorrow night for some pre-season action. Even though it's preseason I will be expecting the Rangers to just beat them like you would a dead horse.

Beau Bennett hurt. Again.
He was skinny fragile kid at DU. Surprised he couldn't bulk up. I think if he had stayed at DU he would have done the right strength training without the wear and tear he took. Good kid who got bad advice imo.
WTH are you talking about here? LOL
Pretty much the age old question of College vs. Juniors or AHL.

Stay in school play 2 times a week - work on your strength, eating and body building - or get a paycheck and play 3/4+ times a week with little downtime for workouts.

At DU he struggled to stay healthy as a freshmen as it was and he was injured(wrist)" for a long time his sophomore year - I think he should have stayed 1 more to work out and get stronger in college.

Rangers are looking great so far. Going over with the 75+ regular season wins at 1,200:1.
They looked good last night for sure.

Sam Rosen made it a point to mention how great their team speed had increased, could spell trouble for the rest of the league

Their young guys have looked good, which is encouraging considering how they have traded away so many high picks. Hayes looked okay, but Duclair (sp?) looks like he could be very promising. McIlrath looks like he may be in NY sooner rather than later, Haggerty had a great game, but not so sure he will ever be much more than a shuttle guy between AHL/NHL. Fast and JT Miller looked as if they were at the very least marginal nhl players (I've never liked Fast, but am hoping Miller can be a third line guy as soon as this year). Hopefully a few of these younger guys pan out so we don't need to see too much of Glass, wtf we sign this guy, and Malone unless he can get healthier.

I will say that the Flyers defense looked terrible tho last night. Even some of their regulars looked like they were skating with weights around their ankles.

I'd agree with you on the bold. The Flyers defensive effort was terrible. Anyone would have looked good playing against them. McIlrath may come up during the year due to an injury, but I don't think he's going to be a contributor.

It's broken wrist, staying in school would have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to change that. He has the talent and was looking great in the preseason, but he is always hurt, hope this is the last injury to him for awhile...

Lol. Yeah yeah. Place was jumping for a preseason game.

Guess when you wear orange this is the winning you're good at.
Congrats on that cup 20 years ago.
From you????http://www.memes.com/meme/180979

1975
 I knew that would make you crawl from out of your hole. 20, 40, 100 years between wins, really any difference after so long? I can't wait until Sid is gone so you won't be a fan anymore like the rest of that clown city.

Your hate actually makes you do some research? That's borderline obsession Ruff, better take a step back and prioritize things, it's not healthy.

Pretty sweet goal. Exciting to see that the baby Flyers D sucks just as hard as their big brothers. :( Here's the tv view:

that lazy stick check by the forward looks brutal with that angle

 Yea that's Derek Mathers, only known for punching things. The back swing poke check was nice, at least he gave that extra effort.

sounds like Keranen has flashed at camp. I caught some of one game and he looked decent. nice to have more depth. just four years ago he's probably a top line player getting 18 min.
