So what happens if Mariota falls into our laps in the spring? Carr was the shiny new toy this summer, but we hear that every year. Remember when some people were talking about how Tyler Wilson was the steal of the draft last season, and he got waived eight seconds later. I'm just wondering what kind of future this staff projects for Carr.

. Getting ahead of ourselves, but in the event Mariota falls in our lap, I'd imagine he'd have huge value on a trade down. I am ready to say DCarr is our long term answer to our QB quagmire.

He looks okay but he's still averaging 5.4 yards per attempt. He needs to show he can challenge defenses on intermediate and deep routes on a regular basis (as well as lead his WRs short on short routes and give them the opportunity to pick up YAC).

A new OC would go a long way to answering those questions because Olson isn't capable of calling anything but an outdated ultra conservative game. He is hampering Carr's ability to read defenses.

that's my beef with the Hayden pick. It was a head scratcher for everyone, including Raiders fans. "Really, it has to be my freakin' Raiders who take a dude who almost died in practice?! Couldn't they take a guy that was highly rated and, say, DIDN'T almost die in practice?!?!?!"

But picks like Gallery and McClain were at least dudes that most people thought "hey, that's actually a good pick".

I know some folks arent a fan of Group Think, but I think the Raiders could use a few years of Group Think instead of being the silly renegades who make the head-scratchers in most years. That plan hasn't worked in a long long time.

The Cards are really talented on both sides of the ball. Comparing the Card roster vs. the Raider roster makes you cry. At least Palmer is injured so we do not have to watch him throwing the ball to Michael Floyd and Fitz.

Don't assume that these guys would be star players for the Raiders. It's a rotten organization; players don't want to play there. They either overpay, which puts pressure on the cap, or they sweep up players past their prime, which results in a poor product on the field. Coaches don't want to coach there either. And these guys would have played during Al's days. Yeah right.

No way Aaron and Calvin are today's Aaron and Calvin if they're drafted by Oakland.

Analysis: Coach Dennis Allen said bluntly that Holmes "will be the guy" to replace Streater, though he mentioned Vincent Brown and Brice Butler as candidates for increased roles as well. It's worth noting that Allen did not mention Denarius Moore, who has hauled in just eight of 20 targets for 60 yards so far this season. The 6-foot-4 Holmes will make for an intriguing speculative add in deeper leagues, because while he racked up just 29 yards in last Sunday's loss to the Patriots, those yards came on a beautiful catch along the sidelines, and he also drew a pass interference penalty. Although Holmes did not catch a pass last season until Week 11, he still tied for the team lead with 10 receptions of 20-plus yards, and his size will likely make him a top candidate for red zone looks.

Also, the Raiders have been running large ads on the double decker buses so every so often you see a Raiders banner fly by.

Like I have been saying for the past couple of seasons. Moore is consistently inconsistent.

Moore is a healthy inactive today, which may signal the end of his times with the Raiders. Look for Brice Brown to emerge in his place. I am done with this dude and hope the staff feels the same way.
