Sako signed with Palace today. I'll add him to my roster when fantrax updates their database

It wouldn't be a big deal if I could just pick add and drop players now that waivers have cleared, but that doesn't seem to be allowed either.

I dropped my pursuit of Germanophile Charles Aranguiz' signature and picked up alleged child rapist Adam Johnson instead.

Waivers not working.
How so?
I put in a claim and it's showing in my pending transactions, but it says it won't be processed 'til next week.
Was it for a new player who was just added to the pool?
Whats "new"?
Change the drop down on the Players list from "all available players" to "waiver wire". You'll see the guys who were just dropped as well as some recent additions to the database (e.g. M'Vila, Gradel). I think these players are tied up until next Thursday's waivers run.

I think that players who are added to the database go through waivers for 3 days (as do players who are dropped)

I am looking through the setup now - not sure where I saw the 3 days - but fairly certain that exists for players added to the database - players who are dropped may be only 1 day.

Its a minimum 24-hour wait from the time the player goes on waivers:

Checking this option will ensure there is at least a 24-hour wait time between when a player goes on waivers and when that player comes off waivers. For example, if waivers are set to process every Monday 6:00pm and Thursday 6:00pm, and a player goes on waivers on Monday 12pm, he will not come off waivers until Thursday 6:00pm, since the drop occurred within 24 hours of the upcoming waiver process time.

But since we have only one weekly waivers run, I think they're tied until next Thursday afternoon. 24 hours or 3 days is immaterial.

The player pool except for those 20 guys currently on waivers are free agents until Saturday morning, when they go back on waivers until Thursday.

Are we sure we want players who are dropped to be unavailable to be picked up for the weekend?

Granted - most players who are dropped are not worth picking up - but they could fill a role for another team. I thought the players became available last year, but I honestly don't recall.

I think the only way to make dropped players eligible for the same game week would be run waivers on Wed and Fri. This would allow players dropped on Wed to be added on Fri. The obvious problem is that players dropped on less than 24 hours before the Friday run would still be on waivers until the following Wednesday.

No, it's currently the same as last year as players were not available until the following week. It would be nice if they were (just let all dropped players go to the FA pool immediately) but not sure if that setting is available. In the end, though, I don't think it matters that much either way.

btw... Is there a good place online to see all of the lineups prior to game time? How early do they announce the starting XI?

What a revelation to be able to adjust a lineup based on who is actually playing. Still decisions to be made with guys who play later, but at least not stuck with guys who aren't in the starting XI.

I don't care either way, but in the past, we used to score -0.5 pts for defenders for goals against and currently that's only being scored for GK's.

Since some were asking, can this be changed?

Aug 4, 2015, 3:34 PM Automatically put players on waivers Before the start of the first game on Saturday Before the start of their respective games each day.

Can dropped players just go to FA pool so they can be picked up that same week (eliminates the need for a second waiver run to get these players and these are guys being dropped anyway)?

Players are available until their game starts.

I don't know about dropped players - don't think we allowed it last year. I am not opposed, but also not sure if we can do it.

Yes, I know players are available until game starts. And no, we didn't allow it for dropped players in the past, but some were asking about it and, reading that setting, it seems possible to allow dropped players to go directly to the FA pool instead of the WW (thus locking them). Again, I don't care much either way (players get dropped for a reason), but if most want these players available once dropped, it seems that would be the way to do it.

The rest would stay the same (players get locked until waivers run once their game starts).

I think that setting only has to do when FAs go back on waivers - it had been set at the start of the first game on Saturday, I changed it to the start of their respective games.

Different setting - but I think I found where I can change the dropped players to FAs. It allows for teh dropped players to remain on waivers for a set time period instead of processing with the next waivers.

So, I could set it at 0 days, and I think it would make everyone eligible - if not immediately, at least sooner.

But we need some consensus to make that happen this week.

I would be in favor of it.

I'm in favor. Locking dropped players is silly, IMO. But, in the whole scheme of things, not that important so I'm fine either way.

-1 for yellows just sucks.
I already said this. Unpredictable and really means nothing in the scheme of things.

ETA--My team currently has 3 yellow cards. That's over 10% of my scoring and is the equivalent of 6 goals scored against any of my defenders and almost the value of a goal scored by a striker. Just dumb.

Re: waivers on drops

It's not a game changer either way but I support the status quo. Placing dropped players on waivers gives everyone equal access to them. When in doubt, fantasy rules should always err on the side of fairness.

What about a 1 day hold? That would make any players dropped saturday morning unavailable (so not being awake won't be a hinderance), but player dropped on waivers Thursday night would be available Friday Night?

I don't think that's the way Fantrax works. Players on waivers aren't cleared until the next waivers run, not some time interval after they were placed on waivers.

No - there is an option to place dropped players on waivers for a set period of time (days), instead of being processed

Fantrax says ≠ Fantrax does

ETA: sometimes
