**2015 MLB Season Thread: This is how the chapter ends (1 Viewer)

I just wish they'd announce the god dammed start time of game 1 Thursday. If it's the night game I'm there, if it's afternoon, I'll have to watch on TV.

Ichiro is pitching.

I'm not ashamed to say that he's probably the one MLB player all-time who most closely resembles the way I played baseball and softball. Slap-hitting lefty, occasional power, weird batting stance. Good defensive RF.

I need a Vine of his pitching motion immediately!
Big fan. Hope he plays forever.

TOR has the tiebreaker over KC for the #1 overall, btw.
Why in the world did they run Buehrle out there for the second time in three days for a personal milestone, and blow a shot at homefield advantage?
Hutchison would have started otherwise so the outcome would likely not have changed.

They weren't very concerned with getting it. Played scrubs twice last week (once was understandable) and today was Price's regular spot. Would have thought they'd at least run him out there for 4-5 innings.

If you guys are interested, I can give you updates on postseason business by team/round.

To date thru the Division/PS clinches:

Tier 1: KC, ChiC

Tier 2: NYM, TOR

Tier 3: StL, HOU

Tier 4: TXR, NYY, PIT, LAD

This isn't a true guage yet, as this clinch means more to some markets obviously.

But LCS should be a good barometer. I'll know those next week. Cubs will be #1 clearly by then.
I, for one, find all this stuff fascinating and would read every word you're willing to share.
What exactly are we talking about? Number of shirts produced?

Buehrle is a saint. Wish I would have been able to see his last couple innings.

He's retiring right?
I'm sure there's another soft-tossing homophobe with a dumb name in the minors that'll come up and take his spot.

Looking at home/away splits, KC is more or less the same home and away, so is Toronto's prolific offense.

But Toronto's given up a full run more per game (3.25 to .429) home/road. HFA isn't what it is in football or basketball, but do it for Hutchison's sake, at least. Or to, you know, get the WC winner that's just burned one of their better pitchers in the WC game in the LDS? That's a bigger adv imo.

That whole split may be Hutchison. Ok not quite, but close.

Hutchison had a 9.76 road ERA and that will go up after today. Buehrle had bad road splits too. Neither in postseason roster.

For guys who will pitch in postseason, only concern will be Dickey who they'd probably like to keep in the dome, or at least in warmer weather. The sense is they're going to ride Price and Stroman as much as possible here though.

Well ####, these first two game times suck for me, now I have to not go, pretend I'm working and go anyway or ask my boss for time off to go to a baseball game.

This stuff interests me as well, I would think the Toronto number would be very high (whole country is the market)... that said, the postseason hat for the Jays is kind of not good.

The designs on all the merch this year is god awful. Seriously WTF.

Marlins keeping Ichiro. I guess I can understand the appeal of having a guy get his 3,000th hit on your team. But the Marlins are a better team than they showed this season, and it seems odd to hand $2 million to a guy clinging to replacement level statistically and who'll probably play only about 100 games, if that. Seems more like something a big market team would do.

They should bring him back as the 25th man on the roster, as a 2-way player. The world needs more Ichiro pitching. Plus, they could drop to 6 other relievers, go platoons/specialists all over the place and use the benefits of the expanded roster all year.

Player/Manager. He'd have to be better than Larry Bowa.

Yeah, I thought Toronto would be in the top tier.

Yep. That second highest OPS in all of baseball really blows
Staring at this forum 24-7 still ay? Was hoping you'd get some semblance of a life in this last 6 months. Oh well.

Cue the nerd fest tirade. Awaiting your captain Doctor Dipchit and his leash lackey Marino.

You're all so sweet tho.

Wish my Amazins' some luck !

Aren't there people that need their team critiqued in the FBG Player Championship forum?

Yes changed my settings couple weeks ago. Must have clicked the "notify me" box when someone quotes a post of mine. Changing it now. Can't be getting notified when these baseball nerds are up posting all night. Thanks for reminding me tho

McCann melting down so early in the game really seemed to sap the life out of the Yanks. Castro and Keuchel were working so well together, and getting calls outside the zone. Meanwhile, McCann, obviously flustered, kept awkwardly framing pitches for several seconds and then running out to the mound or pounding on his glove like a child. Girardi tried to calm him down after his melodramatic (2nd inning!) dugout tantrum, but I think mentally, the excuse for losing was planted in McCann's mind early. Must have really twisted the knife to see Rasmus and Gomez flipping their bats.

Please stop with this. There's a language filter for a reason
