I keep up on most everything here. Outside of that, the only other baseball thread I regularly read on the innerwebs is the monthly closer thread on the Rotoworld forums. It can make the shark pool look sane.

You are so correct when you say these are mlb caliber players that make millions. So when Cishek, the only job he has is to Close or Save a 1 run lead, comes in and juices the bases and walks the tying run in when he has a 1-2 count with 2 outs and throws 3 straight balls to ruin the game... Well, yea, he's a clown idiot that shouldn't be making the money he's making and should be demoted. Plain and simple!

 
It's gotta be time for Rusney, right??? Why is Boston dicking around with that junk in RF? Bring the ####### guy up already.

I'm skeptical. He's 18 and probably on around a 120 IP limit for the year. He's already at 32 2/3 IP. They could bring him up as a RP in September like the Royals did with Brandon Finnegan last year but he'll have very limited fantasy value in non-keeper leagues.

I'm skeptical. He's 18 and probably on around a 120 IP limit for the year. He's already at 32 2/3 IP. They could bring him up as a RP in September like the Royals did with Brandon Finnegan last year but he'll have very limited fantasy value in non-keeper leagues.

I've seen (I think) comparisons to Felix re: his age and how it might impossible to keep him down.

Hernandez pitched 149 innings as an 18 year old so the jump from there to 172 as a 19 year old big leaguer was about normal. I don't remember the circumstances but the Mariners used him sometimes as a AAA RP in 2005.

Urias IP base is much lower. Conventional wisdom for young pitchers seems to be to increase IP by about 30 innings per season. I have no idea whether this really reduces injury risk but he's obviously an asset worth protecting.

 
Coming into Sunday's games, Michael Brantley had seen 320 pitches this year at the plate and swung and missed four times.

 
Eephus being on record as an advocate for the murder of Eric Byrnes is not going to help his chances in the 2016 primaries.
