**2015 MLB Season Thread: This is how the chapter ends (2 Viewers)

This seems like just a cameo appearance until Oberholtzer's blister heals but it's a good sign for Carlos Correa owners everywhere.

Dee Gordon's 58 hits are the most through a team's first 35 games since Rod Carew had 59 hits in the first 35 games of the 1974 season.
The Yahoo fantasy guy who knows stuff (Pianowski) said Gordon is reminding him of Ichiro. Hard hits, slap hits, doubles, tons of infield singles, running while slapping at the ball, etc. Given the guy's contact rate and how many steals he'll attempt, I think he's a top 30 fantasy player going forward. If he continues to hit the ball on the ground, he's going to hit .300 for sure.

I quit Team Kipnis. He is literal walking garbage.
We need to research his numbers from the moment of this post forward. Pretty sure he's hitting like .600 since then.
He almost got back into my lineup this week, but Semien has been fine so I didn't make the change. I was curious just how hot he's been so I did the math for ya.

15 games: 29/63 .460, .534 OBP, 11RBI

ARod going to pass Gehrig, Bonds, Ruth in RBI's all within the next couple weeks. Will barely get discussed. Crazy in a sport that loves its numbers and stats.

We used to love the #s and stats. I have a feeling I'll get excited about all these again when Bryant gets close to passing all of them.

He's not going to pass Ruth in the next couple of weeks.
Yeah read that wrong. He's needs 200ish to get Ruth to be number then another 80 or so to catch Hank for all time. Probably not going to make it.

Crazy that all time hit leader, all time HR leader, potentially all time RBI leader will all not be in the HOF. Rose maybe getting closer.

Have any more players you're planning to quit? I want to get out in front of the next big thing.
Hopefully he try's to quit Ian Kinsler
Sans the homers, Kinsler has been awesome this year. 17 multi hit games which leads the majors, .800 OPS, 25 runs, 19 RBI.

Pure conjecture but I'll throw out the name of Andy Barkett as Marlins manager. Led AA Jax Suns to multiple titles and developed Stanton Ozuna and Yelich. Already on the payroll as Marlins assistant hitting coordinator. Given the number of fired folks they're paying, an internal name sounds good.
