sorry, but I don't buy this one. it's hard as hell to hit a baseball, you've got <1 second from the time the pitcher throws the ball to the time you have to react. really no way this guy could have had time to think "is that ball coming at me? crap, scherzer's got a PG going, also the game is not really close right now, I should get out of the way." he has an approach at the plate and I don't expect him to alter it because some dude on the other team is about to do something cool.Dude leaned into that one pretty badly... Pretty ##### move against a guy dealing a perfect game with 1 out to go, IMO.ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooof
Scherzer
dude did you see it? He ####in leaned into it. Its not like he just didnt move out of the way. He physically moved his elbow TOWARDS the baseball.sorry, but I don't buy this one. it's hard as hell to hit a baseball, you've got <1 second from the time the pitcher throws the ball to the time you have to react. really no way this guy could have had time to think "is that ball coming at me? crap, scherzer's got a PG going, also the game is not really close right now, I should get out of the way." he has an approach at the plate and I don't expect him to alter it because some dude on the other team is about to do something cool. of course, you could be of the opinion that he went up there with malicious intent, thinking "if this dude throws anything remotely inside, I'm leaning into it. #### yo perfect game!" but that seems like a stretch imo.Dude leaned into that one pretty badly... lol, yes I saw it. believe it or not, leaning into pitches is a regular part of some guy's approaches. my point was this guy is not going up there and changing his approach because Scherzer is one out away from a no-hitter, nor should he.dude did you see it? At least one big league pitcher (though possibly high on painkillers) agrees that it's a normal reaction to a pitch inside.

Scherzer’s opponents are 1 for 55 with one walk and one hit-by-pitch against him over his past two starts with 26 strikeouts, 10 coming Saturday. In that span, he has more hits — two singles — than his opponents. Scherzer became the first player since Jim Tobin of the Boston Braves in 1944 to allow one hit or fewer in consecutive complete games.
You couldn't be more incorrect about your second point. Let me know how much money you'll send me for each post I can find where I bump a terrible prediction I made.Nobody likes reminding you of how right he is more than RN. He never bumps any of his wrong posts though.
i actually predicted a good year for him too but for the life of me cant find the post or even what thread I predicted it too and I too was ridiculed. You couldn't be more incorrect about your second point. And let me get this straight... I first-guess A-Rod having a great year, everyone lines up to ridicule me, and now before the All-Star break he's on pace to obliterate the "unreasonable" numbers I suggested, and I'm not allowed to mention it?
Yeah, okay.
Nice of the resident expert on the HOF to chime in with his opinion.Bottom line, guys like him, Bonds, and Clemens belong in the HOF
I bumped some really wrong post you made a while back and you got super pissy about it.You couldn't be more incorrect about your second point. Yeah, okay.
Show me. per team150 keepers total? 200?How big of a league would you need to be in to consider keeping A-Rod?
I think maybe 300
If you legitimately valued 300 players higher than him, then I apologize. Thought you were being humorous.I think in fantasy circles A-Rod wasn't undervalued because people didn't think he'd perform, it was because there were questions about the Yankees willingness to play him and him staying healthy if he got sustained at bats. I'm not an A-Rod hater, you should have probably found some of those posts to bump instead IMO. I don't mind you bumping my post, my answer was honest and justified...not shtick.![]()
Everyone did this, he was about a #300 player. It wasnt a joke at all.If you legitimately valued 300 players higher than him, then I apologize. Kluber pretty easily. MadBum barely over the other 2 for me.
Yea, I might even prefer Gray over Bumgarner, but it is close and could go either way. Kluber is definitely the top of the list and Carrasco at the bottomKluber pretty easily. MadBum barely over the other 2 for me.
Your momLOOK AT ME I WAS WRONG ABOUT A BASEBALL PLAYER'S PERFORMANCE.
He's obviously hitting great, as for keeping him, I think it gets more complicated. If you're contending/close he obviously has a lot more value, if you're tearing down, then you're probably better off dealing him. It's all relative. I think he's basically fantasy's new David Ortiz, where he's DH only, providing a lot of value...but the cliff is inevitably coming, you just don't know when. I don't know what that makes David Ortiz now.
Of course, I was pretty much wrong about everything else soNow that my drafts are done, Im adding Tulo to my overvalued list (wanted him in every league, didnt get him in any) and Im adding Jay Bruce, Jordan Zimmerman and ARoid to my undervalued list.

BREAKING: @OTLonESPN obtains previously undisclosed evidence that Pete Rose bet on Reds games he played in during 1986 season.
I dont see the big deal. This isnt really new news. Its just more of the old news we already knew. Until someone tells me Rose was betting against the Reds and intentionally throwing games, Im in favor of him being back in baseball. So much for any chance of a Pete Rose reconciliation:

Seems like it's a big deal to the guy who wrote the Dowd Report."This does it. This closes the door," said John Dowd, the former federal prosecutor who led MLB's investigation.

I get that Rose is a liar. We already knew that. Just dont see how/why this changes anyones opinion. Either you dont care that he bet on his team or you do care that he bet on his team. Whats the big difference whether he's the player or the manager? Manager has more control over game than an individual player anyway. It is news because he has been saying for the past 26 years that he never bet on baseball when he was a player.I dont see the big deal. I also understand its not that cut-and-dry for the PTB and see why this could ruin his chances. Just dont see why the casual fan would change their opinion over this.![]()
He does if you assume the person is always betting on his team instead of against it. A player isn't gonna try less hard in one game so he can try harder the next game, or because he tried harder the day before. A manager decides who is playing and when- if he had a big bet he'd pull out all the stops to win on a given day even if that meant his club suffered for it over the next couple days because the bullpen was spent or guys didn't get their scheduled off days or whatever.Does he?I get that Rose is a liar. Unless Ausmus decides to give Cabrera the day off to rest. Or the day off cause Ausmus bet 50 grand against the Tigersscoobus said:I guess I'm just thinking in the sense of a single game.
For example, I think Miguel Cabrera has more of an impact on if the Tigers win or lose tonight than Brad Ausmus does. But I see what you're saying.
Agreed. My first thought was, "how did he sneak a Wiffle Ball out to the mound?"Billy Bats said:That's some real life bugs bunny ####.pantagrapher said:
