Boston may pass them by the end of the weekend.Wow, even Chris Archer can meltdown. Rays are done right?
Sin Soo Choo looks about as bad as it gets. Little power, really bad in the field, and 0 steals in '15. Still owed north of $100mm. oofMatt Cain's contract doesn't look too great either. Giants still owe him at least $60mm through 2017 and that's with a $7.5mm buyout for '18.In the first two years of his deal JV returned a 4.8 and a 2.8 WAR. Ryan Howard is a cumulitive -2.1 in his 4th year of a $125 mm contract. So one more decent JV year and nothing woukd still end up being a better deal than Howard. So that has to be the worst current contract in baseball, at least JV and Cano have a chance to recover.depends on how you are defining it, but Verlander is probably close. Owed $140 for this year through 2019. I would guess that there is a better chance that Cano re-gains some semblance of his form.Cano the current worst contract in MLB?
On JV I find it weird that people are so quick to forgive Cano all of a sudden because he has acid reflux. JV had core surgery before 2014 and is just returning this year from arm issues. Seems like recovering from core surgery might be a little tougher than getting over acid reflux, but I'm no doctor...

/RNRoyals are awesome. Their offense is much better than last years. Too bad they lost Shields but I still think they are for real with that bullpen and offense. ventura has to stay healthy.
In fairness, they are in the top half of the AL in runs scored this year after being bottom half last year, they've got a league average OPS+ after being worst in the AL last year, and they've moved up from last to next-to-last in home runsshadyridr said:Even God doesnt want all these Royals starting the AS Game/RNRoyals are awesome. Yea you can't win consistently with this shiit offense.Wow, even Chris Archer can meltdown. Rays are done right?
Basically a Triple A team at this point.Wow, even Chris Archer can meltdown. Rays are done right?
Melky has been hot.@based_ball: White Sox position players in July have been worth 0.0 WAR, which is the group's best month of the season

Not as big of names, but Brewers should be in the block: aramis Ramirez and Adam Lind maybe most notably.Reds: Cueto, Chapman, BruceBilly Bats said:Outside of Hamels, any other major impact NL players rumored to be on the block?
He's been decent after a horrid first month.nick ahmed? i need mi help..we'll see
Pedro on mlbn Chase pitcher IMO. If he starts throwing more strikes the Ks go down. I like him OK as a Trevor Bauer type long term, but he's either going to be a whip killer or start to pitching more to contact. He has Sale on that team, but Sale still throws more strikes and gets his Ks because of a swing and miss rate that dwarfs Rodon.I haven't been able to see Carlos Rodon pitch yet. What is it with the walks? Does he just lose focus?

Turned the game off late in the 4th quarter. Oops.Tommy Kramer hit Ahmad Rashad for a last-second TD last night over the outstretched hands of Jimmy "SpiderMan" Allen.
My social media presence was flooded with #VoteDozier themed messages as soon as his homer landed.Mr. Pickles said:Turned the game off late in the 4th quarter. Earlier in the game he struck out (but the ump missed the call) and the next pitch he hits a HR. Losing to Mark friggin Reynolds sucks balls.Wow, Mark Reynolds with a ridiculous bunt attempt that gets Yadi picked off. Then he jacks one.
CUTCH!!!If this game doesn't end soon, John Candelaria and Joaquin Andujar will have to warm up.
I know this is the conventional wisdom, but Sports Science showed that a well-timed slide is faster.Sure, sliding into 1st base won't get you there any faster than running through the bag, but then how would stupid players senselessly injure themselves?
And of course...it's now raining like a mofo and expected to be at it's worst at exactly 8 PM.gump said:Yea I know...look at me.
But I just got my ticket for the Home Run Derby...section 129, less than half way up the first base line, about 20 rows up. I am so stoked for this event anyway with the new format and contestants...but now I can't wait!
God hates Berman tooAnd of course...it's now raining like a mofo and expected to be at it's worst at exactly 8 PM.gump said:Yea I know...look at me.

Can't remember the last time I watched the entire HR Derby. Thought the format worked great and was obviously helped by hometown hero dramatics.
The broadcast, however, was like something out of a High School AV club.
ESPN, desperate to show their little how far did it fly marker, missed countless swings of the bat. Completely incapable of keeping up with the pace the switch between cameras almost felt like There was a disconnect in the time. They also missed some action because MLB appeared to have no interest in waiting for ESPN to come out of commercial break before the next batter started.
There were also some odd / unannounced switches between Ravich and Berman.
And taking 2 minutes to mic up Junior had to have Berman steaming.
Hopefully gump gives us a rundown on how it was at the park. Can't imagine it being a letdown.
I was there and the place was electric. I've been at most of the big moments in that stadium, and I don't know if I've ever seen it like last night. Can't remember the last time I watched the entire HR Derby. Thought the format worked great and was obviously helped by hometown hero dramatics.

The crowd was totally into the whole Derby, but wow did they find an extra gear when Frazier hit.I was there and the place was electric. One of the weird dynamics was everyone telling us all day we would be cancelled and crazy thunderstorms all afternoon. From the minute the gates opened, perfect weather. 1140pm lightning storm. Amazing weather window.
Going tonight, should be fun.
