2015 NBA Thread: I felt a great disturbance in the trolls, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. (1 Viewer)

Lebron got off the plane today wearing a blue and yellow ultimate "warrior" shirt and a hat with Kermit drinking tea on it.

And so as it turned out, Lebron was actually the biggest troll of them all. The end.

What's the significance of the kermit hat?

Alot of franchises could get into the discussion then and I'm not really sure where the Lions would fall, but probably not top 5.  IMO
Since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970 the Lions have the NFLs worst winning % of all the teams that were in the league at the time.   Lions have never been to a SuperBowl and only have one playoff win since the Ford family bought the team in the early 60s.  Add in the fact they are the only NFL team in history to go 0-16 and I think they make the top 3 with ease.

Screaming A. Smith reporting that Bron Bron is going to the Lakers
Why would he leave Cleveland now? Makes no sense. Also makes no sense for him to move to the Lakers, unless he's bringing Durant with him or something like that, which doesn't seem likely.

If that's his goal he should got the New York.  Melo and Porzingis isn't exactly chopped liver and he gets to stay in the East.
Good point.

I also didn't know SAS was calling Durant to LA either.

Nobody will remember what SAS said a month from now, unless it happens and he'll remind everyone.  Let's see how long it takes for him to come up with a new idea.

Compelling argument.      It's definitely a fun, and different, discussion.

Do you have a link?  I see that he's reporting that he's hearing rumors of it.  That's the same basic non-reporting reporting he did about Durant to the Lakers, before Durant called him out as being entirely full of ####.
It was on his sirius radio show - Multiple sources saying thats where Bron is going.

FIRE UP THE RUMOR MILL

Michael Scotto: Sources: Bucks are shopping Greg Monroe hard. He’s owed $17.1 million next season and has a $17.8 million player option for 2017-18 season.

There is also the looming likelihood that the Hawks will trade one of their point guards, which means Jeff Teague could also be moved on draft night. The Hawks could package Teague, their first-round pick and future second-rounders to move up for a player who figures to be gone by No. 21. Teague is in the final year of his contract at a very cap-friendly $8 million. He posted on social media last week, one of which was later deleted, that indicated he was not happy with the Hawks and that he played at least part of last season with a partially torn patella tendon

Based on his Durant reporting, I have a suspicion that his "sources" are the masturbatory fantasies of Lakers executives.

That said, Woj (who is an actual reporter) also seemed to believe he could leave for somewhere warm and "fun" if he won a title for Cleveland, and playing for the Lakers would certainly qualify. I'd still be surprised if he frittered away all this good will on a move that would bring back all the 2010 stuff again and would leave him mentoring a bunch of kids instead of chasing titles with his buddies. Something like the Clippers (via trade) or NY or a return to Miami would make a lot more sense.

The most cursed sports city almost feels like dallas.  The mavericks one a title recently but the cowboys have been a freak show / soul crushing loss machine forever.  The rangers lost back to back world series.

LeBron plus another max FA plus those Laker youngsters (Russell, Randle, Ingram, Clarkson, & Nance Jr.) would be competing for titles pretty quickly.

The Rangers thing recently has been just brutal, but the Mavs were just five years ago.

Plus it's kind of hard to argue that they've had it worse than Buffalo considering the Cowboys beat the Bills last time the Bills had a shot at a title and the Stars beat the Sabres (in controversial fashion) the last time the Sabres had a shot at a title.

i can only hope that the fakeshow believes he is coming and does not pursue any other free agents as a result and then he does not come and the fakers stink up the joint yet again ali called that the ropeadope brohans and when it comes to la there is no bigger buncha dopes to rope take that to the bank

Yea you can piss off with that. No offense.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but you almost deserve a punch in the face just for saying this.

Depends on the max FA. Obviously, if it's Durant.  Maybe, if it's Horford.  Does anyone else get the job done?

Also, remember that a big reason LeBron has been able to do what he's done in the playoffs the last two years is that he clearly has been coasting during the regular season. He's not getting any younger, so presumably he'll want to/need to continue that. But unless Durant is beside him, he'd have to play hard in the regular season on the Lakers.  Otherwise he'll get stuck in the 4/5 series in the West or maybe even worse.

I feel like the most cursed city is Pittsburgh. Sure, the Penguins just won a title last week, but it was just hell to sit through and Big Ben is kind of a scumbag too. JMO

That was one of the most bizarre series I've witnessed as a fan.

The massive blowouts, suspensions, injuries to key players, etc.

I'm a LeBron fan, but it sure doesn't feel like the best team won.

Odd series...... just odd..     I still feel like Cleveland was really about the 4th best team this year behind GS, SA, and OKC

As a Missouri guy, all we have is baseball.  It's like that doesn't even count, plus the last non-baseball champion just left for LA.

yeah, the cowboys have really had a tough run as a franchise.  downright sisyphian.  really feel for all them and their fans.  TPW.

Lebron option = the whole world, but really, I think it boils down to this:

Cleveland or Miami, or a wildcard like the knicks or clippers.

The west (as said above) is no easy ride.  If Durant leaves the West then the east may be a bit more competitive, but let's face it GS and SA are the cream of that side and unless LBJ goes to one of them I don't see it.  Clippers only to play w/ Paul, but I could easily see riley make a move with Goran and say McBob for Paul and then God know what happens..

The knicks bc of Melo and porzingas, but let's face it, melo doesn't pay D and LBJ may not want to do the heavy lifiting.

Miami is Miami, Wade is here, Bosh is here, Riley and Spo handle all the drama so LBJ wouldn't have to.  They got younger and more talented with Whiteside, Richardon, and Winslow and they managed to get under the cap last year so the "repeater" tax is not something they need to get too crazy about for 3 years or so. Probably the biggest obstacle here is timing (Whiteside needs to get paid), durant being out there (and riley pushing for that), and the negative feelings when he left (between him and Riley)  Arison is one of the best owners in the league and was one of the first to congratulate LBJ so who know.  I'm also not sure if the Heat organization wants to do these 2 year / 1year opt outs giving LBJ the control of the team...
