Really I think it was this exchange where Curry misses 2 3 pointers down the stretch that changed the game.  The one at 1:14 was really rushed as well and they had plenty of time on the clock to either call at timeout and get a play in or let things develop.  Then he was forced to try and answer after Cavs get the 3 coming out of the timeout on a nicely designed play.

I know it's not as glamorous as a 50 year title drought, but I'll put DC's 18 years without reaching a conference championship (despite having teams in all four sports for most of that time) up against any depressing stories or numbers the folks in Buffalo or Minneapolis can come up with.

Glad the Cavs won....the city of Cleveland waited a long time for this.  First time I watched every game of the finals since the Pistons were in it.  Irvings shot was the dagger.  That was a hell of a shot under pressure.

A nicely designed play?  It was an ISO ending with Kyrie hitting a contested three. Great shot but hardly a bucket that should be credited to design.

That was obviously great, but I was a schoolkid for that stuff. It was a quarter-century ago. I've lived in the city for 18 years and never seen a hometown team in a conference final game/series. I guess it's nice that I can remember winning a Super Bowl and going to a parade and whatnot as a kid, but on the other hand I've never gotten that awesome vibe where the whole town gets on the bandwagon and embraces the team and the bars are packed for all the games and whatnot. I've seen it happen elsewhere and it looks like a lot of fun, even if you don't ultimately win it all.

Also the math changes a lot when you're only talking about two teams.  With two teams you'd expect to win a championship about every 15 years on average, so going without one for several decades isn't really that bizarre.  With four you expect to win one every 7 or 8 years on average, and you expect to reach a conference final just about every other year on average.

I don't mean to diminish how much it must suck. Never getting laid is a different kind of frustration than not being able to get a date, I assume.

I like to think of all us hard-luck sports towns as all being in this thing together. I've always hated the Cavs because of old rivalry stuff but I was pulling for them like crazy in the Finals this year, and I'm sure I'll do the same for any Buffalo, Minneapolis and San Diego teams that get a shot any time soon.  Maybe not so much Atlanta, though.

I have never been one to care how unlikable someone is.  If they are a good player I would like them on the team.

However, Draymond Green is a different story.  He is phenomenal, but I would never ever want to see him on the Cavs.  Ever.  Never.  Most unlikable human ever (that is not some horrid criminal).

James did what I thought he'd do, though the shooting got rough for him at the end last night. That along with Irving's big shot made me think Irving had a chance to be the MVP, but James's overall series performance was fantastic. 

Didn't expect Curry to gag that badly. Even so, I think that stretch where Kerr left Varajao in the game for a while in the 3rd cost the Ws the championship.
