2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs: All hail the Blackhawks, mudbutt (1 Viewer)

Game 7 attendees, check in here.

I'd say I'm 80% likely if it happens.
I've got tix. Not sure if I'll make the trip
Selling? Don't have tix. Thinking either 117, 130 or on glass.
Wife and MIL are going if it happens at all.....work may get in my wayNot sure where the seats are though
SIL? :lowblow:

How did you get tix?
Secondary market after game one.

The Hawks are 16-1 going forward in a 2-2 series. Not sure from when but maybe since the first Cup run in 2010.

Game 3 road winners in the final after a 1-1 tie are undefeated or something. :hophead:
Something has to give. I'd like to think PK will show up on Saturday and TB will blow up as they've done once in each of their three previous series this year. Could go either way though

All these previous statistics are so dumb. Has nothing to do at all with the present series.

the stuff about "Team that wins game 1 wins blah blah % of the time" is kind of dumb

but, the stuff about the Blackhawks having a phenomenal record in games 5 through 7 over the past handful of seasons seems pretty relevant since it's mostly the same players/coaches.

they are hurting a bit on D, but this group of players has a pretty strong track record in these situations. They are great at closing out series.

Was surprised they blew game 5 against Anaheim when they gave up 3 early goals, but they dominated from that point forward and played their best hockey in games 6 and 7. They seem to get better late in series.

This Tampa group has finished strong as well. They just haven't had as many opportunities in the past. We knew this going in that one team had a ton of playoff and championship experience and the other team didn't. Typically it seems like most young teams that make runs like this hit a roadblock at some point. Will be interesting to see if Tampa can push through and prove to be the exception.

Pretty sure Chicago won't be very easy at all to beat in 2 out of 3 games at this point, but Tampa has carried play for much of the series so far. I'm expecting Chicago to figure things out a bit, but maybe the defense issues will limit what they can do.

It's largely irrelevant because none of those games came against Tampa. Same with the whole Rangers are x and x in elimination games since 2012 or whateverstat we heard from last round.

Chicago is obviously a great team and going to be hard to beat. I can tell that from the multiple cups. Some dumb stat isn't needed. They have lost before.

sure, but Chicago's record has come against multiple opponents and is a solid indicator of how their level of play seems to change over the course of a series.

Here was an article from last year:

http://voices.suntimes.com/sports/inside-the-blackhawks/chart-blackhawks-are-class-of-nhl-late-in-playoff-series/

Since the 2010 playoffs, the Hawks are 18-18 (.500) in Games 1-3 of a series, but 25-6 (.806) in Games 4-7.

The current group has been even better. Since last season, the Hawks are 9-9 (.500) in Games 1-3 and 13-1 (.929) in Games 4-7.
When you put up those records in the playoffs while mostly playing strong teams in the West, it's not meaningless (IMO). It's pretty amazing.

It's not meaningless when you speak about their level of play the past 4-5 years. It's pretty meaningless when trying to decide who wins the series.

On Sportscenter the other day, they said the Lightning could put a taller lineup together than the Cavaliers starters.

Get in price is 280 right now. Fn Tampa.
Not a bad seat in the house...great deal.

I got dragged to this ####** country fest in Jville, but I'm wearing a Ning shirt and getting a lot of love. If only this dump had more TVs that weren't on Urban. Hot girls in boots everywhere is the trade off.
