Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread: Kings win 2nd Cup in 3 seasons (2 Viewers)

In season stats don't mean #### right now.

Henrik might steal one game.

The Kings and the Hawks were playing at a level no one has seen for a long time.

Kings in 5. I'm putting down some coin in Vegas tomorrow on Kings in 4 and 5.
:bowtie:
Good work. You've been all over everything, including Martinez. I laughed tonight. I had six, because I gave the Rangers the benefit of the doubt to pull two out.

I was going to put Martinez until I flashed back....

It's public record

I wanna see each player doing a full lap around the ice with the entire team following behind them. Cutting coverage while players are still skating around the ice with the cup. Wonderful NBC.

Let the record show that me and Tom830847372974 had the Kings winning it all before the playoffs started.

Glad to see Gaborik get a cup, best player in Wild history and brought it this playoff.

Boyle has really proven himself as a playoff stud. I remember a couple years ago when they basically rode him past the Sens. He really brings it when it matters, solid player.

Great emotion from Williams when he won the Conn Smythe. Well deserved.

I hate the rangers, but this is the dark side of losing. Lundqvist carried that team on his back and could no do anything more. His team failed him. He is a world class goaltender and deserved better.

Kings were the better team and congrats to the fans here of them, well deserved and hard fought Cup win.

Rangers hung tough but couldn't get that clutch goal so maybe this was a learning experience for them going into next year.Hank deserved better but I'm sure he would say the better team usually wins and in this case it clearly did.

Bring on the draft and trades!!!!

I am sure it feels horrible, I cant imagine it.

But one day soon he will wake up and remember he gets $5M per year to play hockey and all will be right with the world again.

My poor 4 year old is already a true blueshirt with his love/hate.

He wakes up after falling asleep in the third last night. I tell them the rangers lost in double ot. He puts his hands over his face like he is going to cry, then looks at me and says, they suck dad. Took all my energy to not laugh. Told him there is always next year. His heart was broken. He really expected to be at the parade.

Lundqvist is the best goalie in the world, what a terrific performance. Rangers lost three OT games in LA, this series was closer than the record books will remember.
While I believe the Kings were a touch better team (coming from a lifelong Ranger's fan), this was a very close Cup. Particularly when you consider the refs handed two games flat out to LA. When you get two game breaking calls going against you against such a good team it's very hard to cope.

Tough calls on the goalie interference and Zuccarello last night.

Thought the Kings outplayed the Rangers, though, and certainly deserved the win.

Just sad hockey is over. Congrats to both finalists and their fans.

Wait, I thought it was puck luck?

1/10.

Come on, you can fish better than this, right?

If only they could play a series of games to determine the champion, like perhaps first to 4 victories, that might get eliminate some of these complaints. You could be down 0-3 and still win the series.

They resumed coverage on NBCSN right away. NBC was probably crapping their pants that Fallon was pushed back to 1am for hockey.

:lmao: at the new thread title.
The thread title is born from an ignorance of the new england area. RI/NH are basically an annex of MA. Call them little MA N or S if you will. CT was just a highway to NYC with rest areas before the casinos
Yeah I'm not sure I get it - the Bruins have their minor league team in Providence, they play in the Dunkin Donuts arena. The team symbol is exactly the same except that it's a "P" instead of a "B".
... and Providence is really close to Boston. Heck away teams playing in Foxboro typically fly into and stay in Providence. Our states are really small.
This just in: Rhode Island gets special Bruins license plate
