For all the folks on the GS train, I'll take the Cavs for $50 to win $200, you get the field.  Since the Dubs have 4 of the 5 best players it should be a no brainer.
Green is not better than Irving, but I agree that GS is totally stacked and there is no reason they shouldn't roll to the title.  As incredible as LBJ was in last year's finals, he will have to be that much better this year for them to have a chance.

Great gamble for the Celtics and Ainge. That pick is worth more this summer if they trade it.

I would still trade it, but you could probably send just that pick and Bradley and get who they want. Although I don't follow college basketball other than my Spartans. Can Fultz play the 2?
Fultz can absolutely play the 2

Neither is Thompson.

Celtics aren't taking Ball.  Doubt anyone can give up enough to trade up, unless the Celtics really like someone at 3 or 4.  He falls to the Lakers. The rebuilding is now in full force.  Will be fun to watch.

The Celtics don't HAVE to do anything this summer, IMO.They just need to sit back and let the off-season come to them. Ainge has all the leverage.

Isaiah wants max money? Eh. We good. We got the #1 pick to spend on a PG.

Butler or George in play now? Whoever has the best deal. Let's go.

Who wants the first pick? Send us your best offer.

If I'm Ainge, I'd resign Thomas to a short 2 year max deal or something like that or a longer, team friendly deal. If Thomas doesn't like it....peace out. If they really like the player at #1 keep the pick and they should still have enough money to add a max FA.

Bill Simmons is gonna be insufferable.

I highly doubt they get IT on a max for 2 years unless it is a player option for the 3rd and 4th years, and the only way IT comes back on a team friendly deal is if it is Thomas's idea. I don't know enough about the guy to say whether he would give a hometown discount or not.

I'm glad the Lakers kept their pick.  I don't want them to be the team that wins in the 20s ever year.  I want to watch them make terrible personnel decisions that turn them into a 50 win team who has no chance to win the championship even though they don't get it year after year.

You could have just said you want them to be the Clippers.

Yah, it's a slim chance. I don't fault Thomas for getting as much money as he can. As good as Thomas has been this year, I don't think he can match this offensive output again (increased volume AND career highs % wise).  With his horrible defense any drop on the offensive end, makes him a negative overall unless the Celtics can continue to build the perfect team behind him.

#### that. I hope they stay crappy for at least the next 15 years so those annoying Lakers fans suffer like I did from 1994-2012.

Damn right.  D'Angelo will be a perfect 2; he shoots well enough and his ball handing and vision will be a plus.

We're back baby, WE'RE BACK!

I'm not sure you will get much pity for having to suffer for a whole 18 years with your team. Welcome to the rest of the NBA
In those 18 years we only made the playoffs 1x and then only after a 12 year drought and then we had to wait another 5 years until this current ran began.

So no I don't think the rest of the NBA understands yet.

If you want the Lakers to suffer, the Lakers getting the #2 overall pick instead of losing it altogether and keeping their 2019 1st round pick is almost worst case scenario.

People are making too much out of the Dad.  Non issue.  On the court, Ball will bring free agents to LA.  EVERYONE wants to play with a great point guard.  Especially great shooters. Now you build around Ball and Ingram.  I still like Randle and think he's useful.  As are guys like Clarkson and Nance.  The big question is Russell.  If he gets a little killer attitude he can be a superstar.  Or he can be an underachiever.  I could see him being packaged in the right deal.  But the free agents will come back to LA.  Trust me on this.  Jim Buss gone.  Luke Walton in as coach.  Phenomenal young talent.  Now is the time.  Tonight was critical.  Very happy Laker fan here.

Ball is eh. At best he's Ricky Rubio.

Celtics have Brooklyn's pick next year too, correct?
Didnt think they allowed 1st round picks to be traded in back-to-back years anymore.

Like Sac still has to convey a clean 1st rounder to Philly, but since they did the swap this year, they must wait until 2019 (instead of 2018) to complete the trade.

This year was a pick swap so technically they didn't trade this year's pick.

Correct, they also have the Grizzlies and Clippers 1st round picks in 2019 although both have some protections.
2019 first round draft pick from L.A. Clippers
L.A. Clippers' 1st round pick to Boston (via Memphis) protected for selections 1-14 in 2019 and 1-14 in 2020; if the L.A. Clippers have not conveyed a 1st round pick to Boston by 2020, then the L.A. Clippers will instead convey their 2022 2nd round pick to Boston [L.A. Clippers-Memphis, 2/18/2016; Boston-Memphis, 6/23/2016]

2019 first round draft pick from Memphis
Memphis' 1st round pick to Boston protected for selections 1-8 in 2019 and 1-6 in 2020 and unprotected in 2021 [Boston-Memphis-New Orleans, 1/12/2015]

It was a pretty fantastic 24 hours for the Celtics.  I get beat up for this but IMHO, Avery Bradley is the only untouchable on the Celtics roster. (and maybe Jaylen Brown)  Avery isn't an All Star but he does it all on the court.  Unlike with Crowder and Smart, I don't cringe when he sets himself for a shot.

I would daft Fultz, and fully expect you know what you have after one full season, and then deal with IT next year.  Decide if they can play together effectively, or decide if you want to move Thomas at his highest possible value.  I'd sign Hayward.  Then maybe trade the 2018 Nets pick for a 10+ rebounder a game player.  (Andre Drummond, DeAndre Jordan...whoever).

lots of thread titles. Love lottery day.
Maybe you could outsource this to SWC going forward.  The one you went with sounds like something Trump would come up with.

Avery is almost 100% gone.

Plan is pretty simple - sign Hayward, jettison Olynyk and Zeller.  Trade AB, retain Smart.  Draft Fultz.  Sign IT.  Start integrating the kids more, including our Euro friends.

Get the #1 pick again next year

Keep improving

Philly has to wait until 2019 because Sac could have theoretically conveyed their #1 to Chicago this year.

I don't think a rebounder works with Steven's system.  He wants a stretch at the 4 and 5 for his offense.  You have a rebounder clogging up the lane and IT doesn't have room to do what he does.

Fultz could be a stud one day, or he could be like that sorry Ohio State PG that the Lakers drafted who just seems ok.

I assume that means you would trade Fultz for Butler.

So far the list is

1. Capella

2. MSUDaisy
Why not answer my question?

Your awful shtick has never really changed. Evolve man, it's not 2005 anymore.

What is strange is that I asked the question, not you

The problem is that you aren't asking the right questions if you don't include age as one of your evaluations (Fultz is 10 years younger than Butler - I will save you the time there)

I thought it kind of went without saying that Butler is older than Fultz. Heavy analysis here man.

I'm pretty confident Hinkie would be calling Sacramento today to ask what they would give up to move from 5 to 3.
The Kings desperately need a PG or a SF and it seems like the consensus top 5 players are PGs or SFs. I think they are in a pretty good spot at 5.
