2016 Chicago Bears Thread (2 Viewers)

Bears WR Alshon Jeffery: "We've got to score ####in' touchdowns. That's it. Period. Touchdowns win games. You see what 3 points get us."

All of us are getting dementia. If not, they play Thursday at Green Bay so if 1 loss isn't enough in a week take two

The bears will beat the Packers. Records go out the window for this rivalry and Green Bay isn't very good. They are getting destroyed by the cowboys right now and will likely lose today.

Brian Hoyer’s 78.8 rating Sunday was the lowest in NFL history for a QB throwing for 300+ yards, 0 INTs with 60+% accuracy (via @pfref)

#Bears now 0-3 against AFC South, i.e., the worst division in football. Under Fox-Pace, 7-15 overall and 2-9 at home.

We've hit rock bottom again.  I thought we did two years ago but that wasn't it.

Oh its the Bears hands down.  Carolina has played some good teams and Derek Anderson blew the TB game.  But Chicago has ugly losses to the AFC South and rookie QBs.

7th in yards and last in ppg.  Leave it to this sorry freaking franchise to do that.
I'm not sure why you keep complaining about this and act like it's surprising.  We knew this was going to be a very bad year after the first couple weeks.  There are just too many major injuries to overcome this year along with some other issues.  It's better to just except it right now and just try to enjoy watching the younger players develop.

I complain because it's unacceptable what is happening.  It's an embarrassment.  You're alone in enjoying watching the young players develop while the team gets embarrassed on a weekly basis.  Maybe this failure is acceptable to some,  but it shouldn't be.

I'm not alone.  I watch with a group of people and am also on two Bears fan forums.  Seeing the younger players on the field is about the only thing we all look forward to watching now.  The majority of us realize this season is a wash and it's time to develop players and look at what players can be brought in for next season.  I'm not sure what you want done right now.  The team can't just make injuries go away.  If the team was completely healthy who knows where they would be right now, I'm guessing 3-3 or 4-2.

I can see being upset with not giving the team the depth to survive injuries like this but it's still a little early in the rebuild.  I will admit that I'm pretty upset that they never drafted a QB in the last two years.  I was also unhappy with getting rid of Slauson but the rest of the moves and draft picks I've been happy with.  Losing Gase hurt but what can you do?  You're not going to make him stay when he can be a head coach.

From January:

GM Ryan Pace expresses his "extreme confidence" in Jay Cutler: "We're going to continue to build the offense around Jay Cutler." #Bears

Obviously a rift growing between Fox and Pace already.  Very strange Fox's refusal to comment on Cutler or what the plan is when he gets healthy or if he actually is healthy.

OLB Pernell McPhee has been activated from PUP, Bears say, and will play tonight. Let's see what impact he has. He hasn't practiced in full.

How are Chicago Homies feeling about this game?

From what I can recall, Lambeau is a bit of a house of horrors for the Bears.

That said, that GB D is pretty banged up and their offense is out of sync. Gotta think they can score some points here and make it a ballgame.

Terrible.  They just lost leads to the Colts and Jags.  A beat up Green Bay in Lambeau is light years better than either of those.  They get smoked

This could be the upset of the week but most likely the Packers win.  Both teams are in rough shape so expect and ugly game.  Don't forget that a crappy Bears team won there last year on their Brett Favre Homecoming night.

The Bears team from last year at this time was playing far better than the one this year.  I'm not saying they have no chance but it doesn't look good.  Thus one has no confidence and is entering the game on a very low note

11 players on the roster from previous regime. Pace has been awful. Can't blame Emery. Most of these guys are his and this team is an embarrassment. Really nothing positive to look at with this team. No hope for future and no developmental qbs on roster. Done

I always think coaches like Fox should take a year off and regroup instead of going to a new team right away. Or at the least become a coordinator somewhere and gain perspective like Del Rio, Caldwell, Kubiak etc. The ones who jump right back into a new situation have high expectations that they may not match. People view Fox as a SB coach and the talent he has is nowhere close. The same thing happened to Lovie and will probably happen to Rex.

Are you ever right about anything?

To the rest of you...man, just a beat up team that took more hits tonight.  Hope you all can turn it around some.

And glad color rush wemt Navy vs White rather than Orange vs Yellow.

Smart people view Fox as and idiot and loser.

Holy crap there are some terrible Bears fans here.  Yes, the team sucks.  It's time to focus on finding which young players can do well and want to be on the roster in the future.  I'm not sure what some of you think is going to happen when your team is riddled with injuries and on their 3rd string QB.  Everyone should have already known going into this season that they were barely a .500 team and when you have that many key injuries it's going to be hard to win many games.  There were some positives in the game.

The defense has been playing surprisingly well but always fizzles out in the second half due to the offense accomplishing nothing.  I liked what I saw from Floyd last night.  I am pretty much done with Fox as the head coach and Loggains as OC.  I still like Pace and feel he has a strategy in place and I'd like to see what he can do with it, two years isn't enough time yet.

There are still plenty of talented players on this team.  Howard, Jeffery, Long, Whitehair, White, Trevethan, Hall, Floyd, Hicks and a few others with potential on the team.  Need another year with good FA pick ups and some high draft picks.  Could be a completely different team next year and could be above .500 if they stay healthy and have decent coaching.

Listen,  this team is poorly coached.  Everyone has injuries in this league.  They have blown 2 leads to two of the worst teams in the league after being good enough to keep it close until the end.  That's a sign of poor coaching.  You can call us terrible fans all you want but most of us have stuck with this team for our entire lives through decades of embarrassment.  The offense is despicable.  Fox has made a mess of handling the qb situation already.  Pace has made multiple terrible signings.  I've been negative for years over this team for good reason.  I finally get on the other side of things and was more optimistic than almost anyone this year and it's a total embarrassment.   Maybe worst team in league or at least second to Browns.   If you think injuries justifies this #### storm then that's fine.  I don't.  It's pitiful and there's no legitimate excuses for them to be this bad,  whether it's coaching,  injuries,  or bad fa signings.  It's a freaking debacle and the team is in shambles.   Let's hope Hoyer going down helps save Fox from his own ignorance by having to out his best player back on the field.

So Cutler has been doubtful but not out for the last 5 weeks.  Didn't dress last night bit already starting next week.  Fox is a liar and is getting exposed now.  Should get a ton of backlash and lose his job for this ####.

Not a Bears fan and hugely disappointed that I started Howard & Meredith last night, but I think you all have a really good defense. They were locking GB down until they got tired because their offense couldn't stay on the field.

I think you have a good ROS after your bye, FWIW.

I seriously think some people need to find a new favorite team.  Being disappointed and wanting changes to be made is perfectly normal and should be done but constantly #####ing doesn't do any good.  Life is too short to be that upset all the time about your favorite football game.

Before you go and say that I must not be a big fan and that I'm not passionate you'd be wrong.  I have been a fan all of my 33 years and have only known this team as being mediocre at best yet I love them.  I was too young to remember the 85' Bears.  I've also been a Cubs fan my whole life so obviously I know disappointment yet I stick by my team and watch them and look for things to enjoy.  I'm also a season ticket holder for Iowa football games and have been through a ton with them.  One thing I know how to do is get upset and let my emotions go then move on from it shortly after.  I've seen too many people that let it ruin their whole day or even a couple days and that's just ridiculous.

I wouldn't say that at all. You sound like a big Bears guy.  We just see things a little differently. I don't think anyone in here let's it ruin days of their lives, or at least it doesn't appear so. #####ing and complaining on a message board is quite different than doing it in real life. It's a football message board. Of course complaining on here is not going to change anything, but it's a way to release frustration and share in it with others.  Don't know any Bears fans, except on here. It's not a big deal. More important things in life than sports. I don't think that means you can't complain or feel a sense of disappointment in your team.  You feel there's a limit to how disappointed you can be in your team or how much you complain.  Do you also think you shouldn't boo your team at a game?  When it comes to a place like this site, I don't see how it matters.  If you go around your real life every day complaining about your team and not talking about anything else, then you might have a problem. Absolutely nothing wrong with expecting a better product out of your team. I've seen plenty of former Bears saying the fans deserve better than what they're getting this year. They're right.

I think it is bad when Jimmy Johnson is telling everyone during pregame broadcast that Cutler is out of favor with the HC and wouldn't be challenging for the job even once he is healthy because of Hoyer. Not a very good job of keeping the dirty laundry in house.

Then Matt Barkley happened and guess what? I bet Cutlers hand is feeling a whole lot better now.
