We were up 31-10 at the half and manage to eek out a win against Detroit. If that seems like a great victory to anyone, you are the issue in this thread. We should have buried them in the 3rd, instead it was 3 and out with a crap punt. Play calling totally sucked, we barely had 300 yards and we ran 48 offensive plays. We could just as easily be 0-3 right now, we barely beat the Jags and Lions and Minny just outplayed and out coached us.
I know McCarthy is no BB, but holy crap Batman, play 4 effing quarters, not 2. We easily could have gone to OT or just lost due to our over conservative play calling in the second half. It's like we had Dean Smith running the 4 corners offense out there. Let's hope the clock expires before they catch us. I personally hate that crap, I want to kill teams not make every dang game a friggin nail-biter.
The defense has been better, Burnett is definitely not why, he's ALWAYS been a liability in coverage and still is. The young LB'ers are doing a good job and hopefully after the bye week we get Clay and Shields back.
Sucks having an early bye week, but for us we it was probably a good thing. What really bugs me is our offense totally lacks that killer instinct we used to have. Something is definitely wrong or we really have become so stale and predictable that it's going to be an issue when we play a good team.
I have been a die hard Packers fan for about 40 years, I love the team and history as much as anyone. But I'm not so stubborn/blind as to say we are doing great when we really aren't. The parts are still in place, it is not talent that's lacking, hopefully we start playing better football before it's too late.
