Nice. have a feeling the contract gonna be a nice one, team-friendly.
appears i should looked here 1st.Sounds like Penn is close to re-signing.
Gonna be one hell of an offensive line!
that covers just about every single need except...um....what was it again?.....SAFETY!
In Reggie We Trust.
but whens the last time this team has consitantly made one great move after another and had drafts as productive as the last 2? its been a looooong time coming....the Raiders are building a great team ...i have no fear of anything crumblingI am pleased with how this offseason has been handled and somewhat surprised. I can now see some of the strategy that Reggie utilizes and I am beginning to be impressed by his patience. It is hard to not brace for the whole thing to crumble. 14 years of awful is a hard thing to completely shake as a fan.
That's a cumulative grade, if you use only his OG grades, they are higher. His LT grade pushed his grade down a little.Shouldn't Osemele's grade be higher as a G? Thought he was graded based on being a LT? Maybe I am confused.
Yeah. I have a real hard time seeing an offensive player at '14, unless it was Ronnie Stanley, whom I have read they like a lot. Ezekiel Elliott? Geez.....that doesn't seem like Reggie. I mean, what's the point of having a monster O-line (and this certainly appears to be) if you can't get a great running game with less-than-great running backs??It really amazes me that they are in such good position to draft BPA in round 1 (I would still like to see the top CB but wouldn't complain about anything short of a kicker/punter). Round 2 maybe not though, from what I understand about this years draft class (and I admittedly understand very little) there is a very good chance that one of the top safeties will be available in the 2nd round, I am not sure they could pass on that.
Agree wholeheartedly. I'd hope we get a couple safeties before the draft, but the opportunity cost of reaching based on need in the 2nd isn't nearly so significant as the 1st would be. Elliott at #14 would be a dream, but Hargreaves or anyone that slid at another position like Jack or Stanley would be welcome as well.It really amazes me that they are in such good position to draft BPA in round 1 (I would still like to see the top CB but wouldn't complain about anything short of a kicker/punter). I was also in the camp that wanted Leo over Cooper and I agree Cooper was definitely the right call based on the lack of difference making WRs in FA and this year's draft.Yeah. WR? No. TE? No. OG? No. So if Stanley is gone, Elliott would be the only player worth considering there. If Reggie is staring at some combo of Lawson, Rankins, Alexander, Jackson III, will he take a RB? I have a tough time seeing it.
I was also 100% wrong about Leo vs. Cooper last year. I was very surprised he went WR. A year later, with the emergence of Mack, Mario Jr, and the complete lack of WRs to get excited about, it looks very smart (no matter what happens with Mario's neck).
I will like a Jefferson offer sheet. He has actually engaged other Raiders on Twitter already, I will almost be surprised if we don't sign him to an offer sheet.
I would also love a Reggie Nelson offer. He played his best ball last year, would be an amazing stopgap.
Already suspended three times for substance abuse. Doesn't sound like a Reggie guy, but you never know. He's only 26 and would certainly be an upgrade to whatever is on the roster. Now that Will Hill is released I hope the Raiders kick the tires on him.
I guess we should take it as a positive that we haven't heard anything about the Raiders being connected to any of the remaining top safeties, since the real signings seem to come out of nowhere and the rumors of interest have tended to lead to dead ends.Already suspended three times for substance abuse. Really surprised that they haven't brought in Reggie Nelson.
A 3-4 ILB, no? I am always a bit worried about scheme differences but overall, there will be more cut players and if we don't have the perfect fit MacKenzie will look for a bargain upside or vet as a stop gap. Sometimes they work (Penn and Howard) and sometimes they don't (long list of CB's and Lofton ). No doubt we will add a couple of DB's and a MLB before drat time.32 Counter Pass said:Would Dansby be an upgrade at ILB?
Karlos Dansby - LB - Free Agent
Browns released ILB Karlos Dansby.
34-year-old Dansby is happy with the move, as he knew he didn't have a chance at winning with the rebuilding Browns. The new regime seems to be tearing it all down and starting from scratch. Dansby's play slipped in 2015, but he's still a quality starter. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 3 inside linebacker in coverage and is a known playmaker. Dansby will be looking for a contender. The Browns save $3.5 million against the cap with the move.

I agree he's fine. But Elliott can be special. You take those guys when you get a shot at him. More and more I don't think he'll be there, and that's fine if not as has been said this line's been built to make anyone look good.DocHolliday said:I agree with Mass and Chaka. Murray will be fine as the lead RB. Find a cheap back up at RB and keep focusing on the D this offseason.
There is no longer a late tender. Just 1st, 2nd, and original round. I didn't see anything, did they make him an offer? If the Raiders had given Mayowa a late round tender, he doesn't get any offers, and he's a UFA next year. Maybe the Cowboys get us a steal. If gets a two or three year deal for 2.5 per, maybe Oakland matches.
I think a special talent at RB is a joy to watch and would never turn my back on it but I just don't think the position as a whole has first round value (particularly top half of the first round) in today's NFL.I agree he's fine. Not only can you, but it happens every year. There are decent backs every year. And it's clearly a young man's spot, as teams move on from backs after their rookie deal is up.I would never be upset with drafting the next LT or Marshall but when you have a great offensive line and can get 80-90% replacement value of that first round RB in round 3-7 or from a UFA then it seems like a steep price to pay.
I haven't seen a study so I could be wrong but doesn't it seem that you are more likely to hit on a good RB later in the draft than any other position?
