Great season Raider fans.
Holmes looked greatFrom the anticipation leading up to the Karl Joseph pick to making it into the playoffs...fun season. Looking forward to next year, obviously we gotta get better at ILB, but we really need to get a dependable WR3. Seth Roberts ain't gonna cut it.
Roberts clutch during year & Holmes fine as a 4.With Crab & Coop, WR3 should be way down our list of needs. Just get those top 2 better gloves or stickum. Draft & free agency needs to focus on D once again.Holmes looked great

Or wins the division? They are a team on the cusp of being a contender. It's harder to become one of those teams than it is to get up off of the mat that they have been laying on for 14 years, but they are on the right path and have the right blueprints. They have also come to that crossroads at a blistering pace from where they were at the end of Al's ####-storm of lost draft picks and salary cap hell. It's hard enough to overcome one of those hurdles in the time frame that they have.Non raider homer point of view....still gonna be a tough division moving forward so the progress was nice but as some have said...kind of lightning in a bottle this year and may have been a little smoke and mirrors more than lightning in a bottle....only beat SD by a FG twice and if they get Allan and Woodhead back they get better....Chiefs have already shown they are the better team and DEN is still mega talented if they get the o line and QB figured out.....I'm not sure even with Carr that OAK beats NE, KC, or PIt for that matter.....I think it was kind of fun to get excited by the winning some of the games they normally lose....but I'm just not sure the page has really been turned....they aren't even the best team in the west....would anybody really be surprised if OAK misses the playoffs next year....?
Especially at CB. Sean Smith wasn't the acquisition that we thought he would be,raidergil said:Roberts clutch during year & Holmes fine as a 4.With Crab & Coop, WR3 should be way down our list of needs. Blah blah blah. We have Reggie McKenzie drafting and $50 MM in cap space next year. All you have is a smelly shirt.Non raider homer point of view....still gonna be a tough division moving forward so the progress was nice but as some have said...kind of lightning in a bottle this year and may have been a little smoke and mirrors more than lightning in a bottle....only beat SD by a FG twice and if they get Allan and Woodhead back they get better....Chiefs have already shown they are the better team and DEN is still mega talented if they get the o line and QB figured out.....I'm not sure even with Carr that OAK beats NE, KC, or PIt for that matter.....I think it was kind of fun to get excited by the winning some of the games they normally lose....but I'm just not sure the page has really been turned....they aren't even the best team in the west....would anybody really be surprised if OAK misses the playoffs next year....?

It WAS lightning in a bottle to a degree. The only team they blew out was the Jags.Blah blah blah. We have Reggie McKenzie drafting and $50 MM in cap space next year. All you have is a smelly shirt.
Hopefully it's not as bad as the last rookie QB's first playoff start for the Raiders on the road. :X
12 of 23, 140 yards and 4 picks

Hey, it was close!!Ah, Robo QB. The 30 for 30 on him was fantastic, if you haven't seen it. Feel for the guy in a lot of ways. Imagine if we had taken Farve at that pick instead....
And yes, he was horrific. But at least he had the benefit of starting some regular season games -- I think I remember him being pretty solid in his debut against the Chiefs when Pigface Schroeder went down late season. He definitely played poorly when facing them again in the playoffs.
Then he started a bunch of games in 92 and won, but had a game against the Eagles where he threw 3 INTS in his first 10 passes. Yanked and never played again.
Good or bad, at least there was some experience there.
And plug that gaping hole at RT.Just gotta fix that defense over the next off-season or 2, and the Raiders will be a damn scary team.
Totally agree. We need a true slot WR though.I would not mind bringing back Andre Holmes and i wish he was more involved in the offense. Plus he's a very good special teams player.
and on that noteRaiders signed TE Cooper Helfet, CB Kenneth Durden, DE Jimmy Bean, WR K.J. Brent, DE Demetrius Cherry, WR Jaydon Mickens, TE Ryan O'Malley, and OGs Ian Silberman and Oni Omoile to reserve/future contracts.
Helfet is a former Seahawks player. Bean went undrafted out of Oklahoma State last year despite prolific college pass-rush stats.
Um, get that crap outta here.blah blah Stealers blah blah
