**2017 Preseason Observations Thread** (3 Viewers)

I own Hunt in two of my three dynasty leagues and it is still hard to watch anyone getting carted off, especially in the preseason.

Agreed. Especially a guy like Ware that has had such a tough road to get to where he is and how this could potentially cost him his one chance.

Hunt better show more than he has if it is to make the difference.  Right now, a significant injury to Ware just looks like a RBBC or a call out to some cuts in a week or so.  On some teams he would do better but in this offense, I don't think he can just be the guy right away. He needs some time and some help.

I will be shocked if Ware and Eldeman aren't seriously injured. Hope not of course but watched both and didn't look good.

Hogan becomes a Great pickup IMO.

Can you elaborate on what you don't like about Hunt? ....I read a PFF raving about Hunt a few days ago.
And with his receiving skills and the way the Chiefs like to throw to RBs, seems like he's in a great place for his skills.

He missed a hole on the draw play when he came in earlier.

Got buried by a LB run blitz in the backfield after the injury on 3rd and 1. Hasn't looked so good on those two plays.

I really like Hunt. He just doesn't look good right now.

Um, ok.  He did miss the hole on the draw play.  Other than that he looked fine.  About the same as Ware.

There was nothing to be done on the 3rd and 1 that got blown up while he was still getting the hand off.

It isn't that I don't like him. I think the Chiefs offense is one of 6-7 in the league that are more difficult for a rookie to come in and consistently be effective right away. Its not a question of ability, just a matter of I think if he's pressed to immediately be the main guy, the unpolished portions will show.  On some teams, a rookie RB can come in and pretty much "just run" or won't be asked to do and think and know so much in pass protection, receiving, etc. IN Kansas city, the Rb is going to need to do more. I just think at the early stage of his career, he would benefit more sharing time with a good veteran player.

No need to be snotty with your um ok. Just telling it like it is. I didn't say getting stuffed on the run blitz was an error on his part or something.

You mean like Tyreek Hill last year?
Hill is a WR. Its not the same thing.  I get it: some of you guys are fantasy stakeholders.  Not my first rodeo here.

Just my opinion. No need to debate it. Just be honest with yourselves as knowledgeable football fans and ask yourself if a rookie RB in a Reid offense might have a learning curve and does it appear Hunt has mastered that.  The answer will present itself in time.

I don't know if he has "mastered" it, but by everything I have read he has received rave reviews for being advanced as far as a rookie RB stepping into the NFL and being prepared for all phases of being a NFL RB..

Except that Hill even saw time at RB here and there.

Speaking of which...Hill has about 20 drops tonight.

I've read there are pass pro concerns. There may be something to a RB in a Reid offense having a lot to take in and I'm sure they planned to ease him in.

I would think more practice reps will help, assuming Ware is out for a while or a long while.

Safe to say put a nail in the Lacy coffin by now.  He looks awful.  Even his last run to the endzone there's no way he shouldn't get in the endzone at his size.

Eddie Lacy and Chris Carson in the game at the goal line. After play action Lacy runs to the middle of the field as a receiver and Carson runs underneath this to the outside.

Tough catch for Carson who had to come back to the ball. Defender got a piece of it but not enough. Carson reels it in and score the TD.

Are you serious? He ran very hard and has looked very good on the majority of the runs tonight.

Tre Madden 2 yard TD pass from Russell Wilson

Everyone loves to hate Fat Eddie. All I know is he has proven himself to be a top NFL RB but because of the weight issue he seems to be an easy target.

Madden got the td not carson

I expect a lot more from a guy they brought in to be "the hammer" of their run game.  He looks slow at everything to me.  There's no way this shouldn't be Carson's job at this point since he's played extremely well when given chances.  Lacy is 4th on that depth chart to me.
