2017 World Series Thread: Cosjobs washes his shirt & dooms the Astros to a game 7 (1 Viewer)

Can't believe LA lost that. Kudos to the Astros for hanging in there.

Reminds me of the Royals of a few years ago and their never say die attitude. Just wish I could stay awake for these dang games.

If baseball wants to know why kids aren't watching baseball, those late games are why. Tough for me to stay up, much less my kids.

I don't need a note, I simply can't stay awake.  The game was exciting as heck, but when you get up at 5 am, not with an alarm, just out of habit, staying up that late doesn't work.  I fell asleep, but kept waking up when Buck would start yelling about another home run.  Eventually I just went to bed and missed much of it last night.  Great game, but I'm going to have to mainline some caffeine all day to try to stay awake for the next one.

Was up past 2am watching replays.

Roofers arrived early this morning to make sure I was up. Oof.   :coffee:

Still worth it!!    :towelwave:  :banned:      Go 'Stros!

So they are saying the balls were slicked up, perhaps intentionally, to cause just this type of outcome.

Conspiracy much?

No, they are saying the balls feel slick.

You are the one saying, perhaps intentionally.

So, yes, you do conspiracy much I guess?     :pokey:          ;)

This is the first time in maybe 25 years that I'm bummed we have to wait a day for a WS game.

I heard an interview with Verlander where he said the baseballs never felt right all season.  The laces weren’t raised up enough on the regular season balls (apparently there was a jump in pitcher blisters and minor finger/hand injuries supporting this claim; I haven’t looked to verify).  The postseason balls were a little slicker than the regular season ones, and the WS ones are even tougher to grip.

I heard the temperature in LA is way down from what it was. I wonder if the balls may not fly out so easy now.

I think this is the first World Series that I haven't watched any games to the end since I was kid.  Sad about missing so many great moments, but not much I can do between kid and/or work getting me up early.

I can understand not wanting to start the games early for those on the West Coast during the week, but that doesn't explain the Sat/Sun start times.

What a game...I have never seen so many balls squared up and hit hard like that in a long time.

I do think the balls are a little juiced this year.  I was at Comerica Park in Detroit last year and saw a ball hit in the gap in LF..it hit on the grass before the warning track and bounced over the fence like a super ball.

I fell asleep when it was 4-4.

I wish they could start these games earlier.  I'm getting too old to stay up for the end of these games.

If the Astros can't win this game tonight I have a bad feeling they'll lose in 7.

biggest game in team history tonight I think
