If LeBron does go to the Lakers can he shoot like Lonzo just for the 1st preseason game. Scare the crap out of Laker fans and troll Lavar.

In all seriousness though I'd have to imagine LeBron saying to Magic he's not coming if Ball is still there.
Lavar already said something about LeBron's kids that upset him.  This has happened before.

I agree with you 100%.  One scenario I read was package Lonzo and Deng - if they could shed that last big contract that probably makes three mega stars plausible.

Package two crappy assets together?

Have you seen some of the moves teams are willing to make?  Deng's egregious contract should be enough evidence of that.

Ball is young enough that someone will still think he can make an outlier type talent.
Nobody's wasting $40m in cap space to take a flyer.

Just read a rumor that the Grizzlies might move the #4 pick in exchange for someone taking on the Parsons contract. That’s basically $50m over two years. I’d be pretty tempted to do that if I’m a bad team even though that is a ton of money.

Saying this again, those of you writing off Lonzo are showing your basketball ignorance.  I understand the LaVar hate, the Laker hate, etc.  But the idea that Lonzo is now a "flyer" or along those lines is just insane.

I'm not the one saying that. I'm just saying there's no way LeBron is dealing with Lavar. That could be a deal breaker if they don't move him before LeBron comes.

I’m on a Nets board and the folks there are downright giddy about this. I wonder what it would take for the Griz to pull the trigger.

holy moly, what the heck scenario has them trading Deng and Lonzo. Has to be their 1st round picks for the next 5 decades and any asset they possibly have to take on those 2.

Lonzo needs a team that can help grow his game, but i don't think he is a scrub or anything. but what the heck kind of trade scenario is there that a team would offer Deng and Ball for?

I'm definitely bias on this one, but i wonder who has more value in the open market right now, Ball or Fultz?

Amazingly, the Nets would actually need to get off some salary to do this. Maybe give up Russell to make the salaries work and sweeten the pot a little for Memphis (assuming Memphis still thinks he has any potential)?

With the salary floor at 90% of the cap, rebuilding teams under the cap will spend the money somehow.    In the long-run, it’s better to be spend on overpaid guys like Parsons than players who not only might take minutes away from the young players being developed but also might cause the team to win too many games and hurt lottery position. If the team can get an additional lottery pick out of it, it’s a fantastic deal.

People around here are ready to write off Ben Simmons as a bust, what chance does Lonzo have?

Kobe and Shaq perfected this dynamic...
i was thinking more of just 2 years ago with the whole issue with DeAngelo Russel and the pictures in the strip club or whatever with Swaggy P. seems to be a bit of a trend. Shaq and Kobe are a bit of a different story

I think he could be really good. He's not there yet, but he's really young, and he'll eventually need someone to get at him about his mechanics.

What's the funniest team for Ball to get traded to? It's the Knicks right?
The funnest for us? I think it has to be a small market team that is stuck in being average or below average. Think like Detroit, Memphis, Charolette types. It would also help if they already have bad floor spacing and a point guard signed for 2 plus seasons on an untradable contract.

Lonzo on Cleveland shooting 36% per game while lebron owns LA is by far the funniest imo

I was thinking about this after the fact, realizing today that I should have at least tried to trade down from number 4 after I saw that article (or something similar).  Though I still feel like it would be too steep to use the 4 to move parsons.  With their number 1 teetering the next few years, it seems like this is their best chance to get a potential star.

although it probably would be pretty Grizzlie-ian to just clear the space and try to get a couple middling free agents, hope Conley and gasol stay healthy this year just for a shot at .500.

Kemba going into the last year of a very tradeable contract, but Charlotte fits the bill perfectly.

Even better, the Ball/Jordan feud would be legendary. Jordan doesn't forget any slight, not even some blowhard saying he could've beaten him one-on-one 30 years ago. It wouldn't be shocking at all to see Jordan try to get Lonzo just to bury him on the bench, and have every home halftime show be Jordan v. LaVar one-on-one.  This roster is capped out crap, so Jordan v. LaVar might actually be great for attendance.

Another halftime show option: See if Lonzo can beat MKG in a game of HORSE.

Also, Charlotte may have the most conservative fanbase in the league, so that would be fun. Well, other than Utah, which would be all kinds of awesome to have Lonzo play in the shadow of the best player from the 2017 draft every night.

Why is no one talking about Chris paul leaving Houston to take the second max slot next to lebron in LA?
Idiotic to offer Paul max for his mid and late 30s in a long-term deal. Will someone do it? Probably, if that's what he's after.

I'd let him walk before considering doing that. I don't think putting Lebron on Houston they beat a fully healthy GS either in the 2018-19 season. There's 1 basketball and don't see the 3 of them together (Year 1 playing together) able to dethrone GS. And becomes less likely IMO thereafter due to age.

JMO Lebron's best chance of beating GS in 2018-19 is with the Celtics. I think there's the least amount of adjustment for him and the others in roles. (Assuming Kyrie may be dealt). We've already seen what a stud Tatum is with his ability to be the guy and ability to play off others at the age of 19. Guy is a superstar already IMO. Maybe the overall stats won't reflect that for a few years for stat nerds but there aren't 10 players (and probably closer to 5) in the league right now I'd take over Jayson Tatum if building a championship team for the future.  As big of blunders as the Sixers picks of Noel/Okafor were, they aren't even close to taking Fultz over Tatum alone. And I'm not even considering the pick they gave atop that. That one is gonna sting for a long time.

Yea thanks Collars for that blunder. I still think Fultz can be good. But that trade up to 1 from 3 was terrible. Very un Hinkie like.

I like the idea of Lonzo going to the Clippers. LaVar would have to stay in LA and be completely ignored while everyone focuses on LeBron and the Lakers.

I'm a beast on tiny tikes rims.
Used to school jr. on the nerf rim we stuck on his bedroom door.  Im undefeated best I can recolllect with a block record of 4,362.  Not in My House, beyotch!!

Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn

San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard has Los Angeles — preferably the Lakers — at the center of his preferences for a trade destination, league sources tell ESPN.
