2020 Dynasty Drafts, Who's Feeling It? (1 Viewer)

Anybody got any drafts coming up or getting excited for the NFL draft? I've got a draft starting May 4 and a couple starting the week after. I'm just not feeling the normal excitement this year. My leaguemates all seem ready for action.

I think that anybody who does this as sort of a passionate hobby can't but recognize how low on the hierarchical scale of importance this all is. The current state of things just reinforces our blessings. Perhaps instead of looking at it how you usually do, maybe looking at it as a fun diversion will help better to set the mental framework with which you go into it. I can also see where too many drafts make it feel like more of a chore. 

Anyway, just figured I'd answer this. Up late on the West Coast, having trouble sleeping, thinking about a draft I've got coming up, and this seemed like the perfect question. I've got nothing to compare it to, but being ordered locked down sort of puts a damper on the whole beauty of the process, IMHO.

I always enjoy my dynasty draft. As a non NFL or college fan, I always have to hit the books and quickly learn who all the players are that aren't already on my team.

This is usally done squeezed into a few days before our draft during lunch or after the kids and wife have gone to bed. Without work or anything to do or anywhere to go...I might actually do it right for once!

WRs as far as the eye can see. It’ll be fun a decade from now knowing the the people at the bottom end of round 1 ended up with the best players somehow as is tradition.

I used to be more interested in the NFL when I first started coming around here, but even then I was at the tail end. Don't care or have time to care or watch/follow any more, even though I still play in the two FF leagues I've been in for 20+ years (won both last year, a first).

 life goes on, other things become more important (like family). seems pretty straight forward.

Yep, Im "feeling it". Will provide a nice distraction as well as communications with people I haven't heard from in a few months.

It’s weird not knowing if there will be a season but looking forward to it as much as ever just for something fun to do.
