2020 MLB Spring Training (1 Viewer)

Keep it simple:

1. 3 year league ban for all players and managers/coaches involved.

2. 5 year post-season ban for the franchise.

3. Strip them of the championship.

Altuve is an electronics genius but only up to 1981 solid state technology. Lotsa wire still in play. Marwin hid the wires in his beard. Correa was a little younger and more advanced.  He had haptic feedback embedded in his gloves.
I would genuinely like to know how it could be done. I was thinking about it last night and I would think a phone could be used. Have it vibrate maybe from a quick text when you get the sign. But seems like a phone would be hard to conceal.

I would be good with long suspensions for players who were directly involved, as well as hitting the franchise really hard in regards to postseason play for the next few years, but I think stripping them of the championship would open up too big a can of worms. What's next, the Yankees get stripped of their championships that they won when Pettitte and Clemens were allegedly 'roiding?  Do the A's get stripped of the '89 title because of Canseco?  Baseball has too big a history of cheating to start down that slippery slope, IMO.

I see The Atlantic has an article where Correa rips Bellinger. Does anyone have access to that article and can they explain what Correa could possibly rip him about?

Here is part of it

I won’t subscribe to that site unless they do some investigative reporting of more than one team.
:lmao:  you are truly the biggest homer here. The athletic has no bias against your team.

I like shiek’s approach. Dude is like yea they cheated and I love it. /waves foam finger

meanwhile your extreme homerism is just blocking you from having any objective outlook on this at all and you come off childish. Your team cheated, they won and got away with it, it’ll be marred forever if that bothers you, get over it.

You should subscribe. You could read the whole article about how now Correa is saying Altuve had a bad tattoo now, which is why he didn’t want the shirt taken off.The story keeps changing by the day.

And, there will be more coming out about other teams in my opinion. This whole story is catching fire by the day.

Maybe I do have a different approach than him because I believe other elite teams at the top of baseball were doing things too. We already know Boston was but no one seems to care about them.

They didn’t get away with it obviously. If others did and it doesn’t come out, they will be the ones that “got away with it”. If they didn’t win anything who cares, right?

If The Athletic or someone else uncovers others I will have fun going back and pulling up some posts in here depending on the team. Until then you got me, I guess. I’m just a childish homer.

They got away with it in the sense that their cheating helped them win a championship that won't be taken away from them.

It's like if a bunch of bank robbers were eventually busted, but told, "We won't send you to jail and you get to keep the money," yeah, they were exposed, but they still got away with it.

I love how @NREC34 thinks the Athletic refuses to investigate other teams and that's why nothing else has turned up. He cannot possibly fathom a world where the Astros are the only filthy cheaters in this whole scandal. Rumors are already coming out that the Red Sox investigation is finding far less egregious violations and their punishment won't be nearly as bad as the Astros.

As you cannot fathom a world where NY is not pure as the driven snow and better than everyone else.

You’re right. There’s many more layers to this onion. I think Correa probably knows a lot more. He’s good friends with Beltran.

If the Yankees or any other team did something wrong it will be discovered. Otherwise they did nothing wrong. It's not because The Athletic refuses to investigate other teams. You sound like a 5year old. IT'S NOT FAIR.

My CFB team probably cheated for 30 years straight. I couldn’t care less, the kid still gets up at 7 everyday. I don’t know why you take this so personally.

I think we all know that all the top college football teams pay their players, don’t we?

So if others at the top are doing the same thing is it “really” cheating?

You are right to not care. Imagine if your team was singled out for it though. Then you would understand how I feel about this.

Don’t know that you specifically said that. I just listen to typical NY fans all day on radio and see them tweet. And it’s 95% the same thing.

27 rings. Congrats.
You need to stop basing everything on NY radio. Part of the reason I loved listening to Mike Francesa was i loved figuring out who was dumber him or his callers.

But there is no evidence that the Astros have been singled out.

Are you 100% certain other teams were using electronic sign stealing after Sept. 2017?  Even if other teams were doing it (and we can't know that for certain) maybe the other teams stopped when they were told to stop.  The Astros clearly did not which is why they were punished.  Hubris got them in to this mess.

We know Boston did something don’t we?

They beat NY in the ‘18 playoffs and NY supposedly historically hates them. Yet I hear hardly anything about that from NY fans. And I don’t get that. Is it because Houston knocked you out 3 times in 5 years instead of once?

Why is pretty much all the vitriol directed at the Astros?

They're still under investigation. Is that not obvious?

So different degrees of cheating is the reason? You don’t feel cheated out of a chance for number 28 in 2018 at all?

I feel cheated as an Astro fan out of a chance for back to back.

My team has been hearing free shoes U for 30 years. Don’t care. It’s honestly weird to care if you’re over 12.

The investigation isnt over. I will withhold judgment until then. This is why there is no vitriol ... yet

I was a freshman at Clemson when Warrick and Coles played their first game back after Dillard’s. It was Bowden Bowl 1. That was so much fun it still makes me smile. I was on the hill and people were flinging Dillard’s bags all over the place.

Furthermore, a player actually came out publicly about the Astros cheating and the jomboy videos proved it. There is no smoking gun for the Sox.

I see Dusty is saying what I was saying the other day. He wants MLB to take steps to protect the Astros from being targeted.

We all know it’s coming. But at what point does MLB have to step in? Tough call.

Good times man

So I just read what Correa said and it confirmed something I thought I heard but didn’t want to say.

When Altuve hit that homerun, he was asked that night by announcers why he didn’t want his shirt ripped off. He said that just days before, they ripped his shirt off and his wife didn’t like that. The key thing is, his shirt was ripped off days before. And that was the reason he was telling them not to do it AGAIN.

I thought I remembered hearing him say that but since no one reported it, I thought maybe I misheard. You can say the excuse sounds odd or whatever, but his shirt was ripped off days before and there was no buzzer. This all makes perfect sense. Of course, so does my bag of PED’s strapped to his chest. So I guess it could really be either.

When they are finally at the point where they can no longer cover it up and are openly apologizing for the cheating, continuing to try and find excuses or justifications for a single incident as some kind of proof of something is ludicrously homerrific.  Hilarious and pathetic just the same.

Wait you heard about this alleged Tattoo?

The buzzer has been repeated as fact so much that a lot of casual fans will just believe it. You have Bellinger saying they cheated 3 years as fact. Saying Altuve was involved when maybe he wasn’t. It’s like everyone wants to pile on as much as possible.

If they did more than was in the report I hope it comes out too. Especially if he had a buzzer.

But if others did stuff as well it also ought to come out.

I have my doubts that anyone who knows anything will pull a Fiers which kind of sucks for the Astros and the story.

Easy now

He said he believes it continued because “why would they stop”?
Thats what annoys me, we all knew what that day once circus was, and ok, Correa probably presented best in that whole fiasco.  You know people are gonna chirp and your party line is "we're sorry lets move forward".  People knew thats what they'd get.

But now Mr. Big Mouth wants to contribute again, he says Bellinger is lying, well now its time to explain pal, how and why DID you decide to stop?  That seems to be a substantive issue that is not being remotely addressed.  Thats the only thing I want to hear coming next out of this jabroni's mouth

I got only one thing to say about all of this.  I WISH my Pirates attempted to do this.  But unfortunately they just don’t care very much about winning.     :sadbanana:
