Stafford and Kupp second half helps a lot. And where did Michel come from?

I need to calculate right now but I think I need some help Monday night.

Whoa didn’t see Diontae. This second half of the 4:00s has been great for me. I had huge game from Justin Jefferson earlier but got nothing from Zeke then saw James Robinson fumble and head to bench. Stafford was doing nothing and he was only qb for me this week. And Kupp and Diontae were not doing great either.

Cutline closer than I thought. But sitting at 159.5 with several options left for more:

Everybody at (-6.7):

Chiefs:

Kelce and Hardman

Patriots:

Rhamondre, Agholor, Jakobi Meyers, and Johnnu Smith

And who would have thought, just one week after bad-mouthing Sony Michel, he shows up with a bang today!

Cautiously optimistic that I'll make the playoffs.

I said I wouldn't torture myself but I am

I missed the cut in week 11 but would have made it last week and would be at 191 so far this week with my TEs carrying the team (Kittle, Gronk, Gesicki + Brady + Kupp).

I hate this contest :kicksrock:

138ish with all of Mac Jones left, and Javonte (-6).Sony and Jefferson were my two biggest contributors this week.  Need at least 20 more points to feel “safe.” Weather and Bills D gives me pause.

Monday night ownership:

QB's
Mac Jones (39), Josh Allen (15)

RB's
Rhamondre Stevenson (148), Damien Harris (77), Matt Breida (6), Zack Moss (4), Devin Singletary (3)

WR's
Jakobi Meyers (102), Nelson Agholor (19), Emmanuel Sanders (16), Gabriel Davis (15), Stefon Diggs (9), Kendrick Bourne (7), Cole Beasley (6)

TE's
Jonnu Smith (58), Hunter Henry (19), Dawson Knox (13)

K's
Tyler Bass (29), Nick Folk (13)

D's
BUF (46), NE (19)

I really don't see much of a bump in the cutline here, can you?

Looks like I am at 187.35 - those 4:00 games saved me.

have Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson (-6)

Jakobi Myers and Nelson Agholor (-6)

and Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith who will count.

of course my biggest test of the season is next week. I won’t have a tight end unless Dan Arnold somehow plays, and my Patriots depth (6 players) are on bye. Very bad time for me to have my running backs (notably Zeke and James Robinson) go in the tank.

166 with Jones to play....hoping Fields will be back next week with Dalton's shaky performance.

Hope that I am not being a pest, but since it took me a while to figure this out, I thought I would share:

  • Sitting at 137.6, 3.05 points below the cut line heading into Monday Night
  • Have four players going tonight - NEP Stevenson, Henry and J. Smith and BUF - Breida, all four could easily add to my score
  • Breida and Stevenson - one will count if he goes over 3.1 points and the other will count when he goes over 4.0 - low bars for RB scoring
  • Both TE could count, the first if he goes over 6.0 points and the other when he goes over 6.1
  • Seems I need a defensive struggle to overall keep the cut line from rising too much and at least a couple of four individuals gets nice scores
  • If I could add about 12 points to get to 150 in a low scoring game, I think that would work

I just wanted to say thanks Kyter! I don't know if you are still in this contest or not, but the fact that you continually return to the forum to update us all week after week is very much appreciated!  Thank you!
Unfortunately, I did not choose wisely... I've been out since about week 5 or something like that. I'm glad I could help.

Oof! Nothing from either tight end as the Patriots abstain from passing.

Stevenson played well, but not enough, fell 4.4 points short.

Difficult season in part by the additional game and the three week IR rule. Depth matters a lot more than it used to.

Good luck to the thread posters remaining.

161.1

Looks like I've survived the 13 week gauntlet!

Congrats to the 233 others joining me in the playoffs. Hopefully we have a few other regular posters that made the cut.

Going forward, I'm expecting a slow start. 7 of my 30 are on a bye next week. Smart strategy to park a lot of byes on Week 14 if you want to MAKE the playoffs.  Horrible strategy if you want to win it all. I didn't plan it out that way it all.

This pool is down to 2.4% of the original entries. I'm very curious as to what the breakdown is on roster sizes of the survivors. This thing is usually won by smaller teams. I just wanted to get to the dance.

You've still got one more week to survive before the playoffs, dude.

This team made it with no QB in week 13, and will have to do so again

This guy is incredible.  He has used CMC 10 times.
https://footballguys.com/contests/subscribers/2021/entry/100396

This team skated by with a mere 8.4 from his WR's
https://footballguys.com/contests/subscribers/2021/entry/101547

This team has used Darren Waller every week.  Hey wait, hasn't he missed a few games?

Congrats to those still alive.  I would still be alive except for missing the cut in week 11 by 2.8 points.  Worst mistake was picking C. Ridley - would have been better off using his $27 salary on two or three other players.

Scored ~225 this week :kicksrock:

down to the remaining 234 of 9767 entries.....congrats to all who have made it!

Still can't believe I was able to make it through with Goff as my top QB this week....

For 2 teams that survived, they got by on Mac Jones and his 0.65 points!

Yep - it's official. I missed the cut by 19, or pretty much what Henderson & Mooney should have given me (at least).

:(

I guess I used up all of my mojo winning in my IDP league this week - headed into Sunday night my 8-4 squad had a 16.5 point lead, a scrubby LB on MNF that I picked up to cover a BYE, and (gulp) Matt Breida (starting because Henderson) left.

My opponent, the other 8-4 squad in my division, had Tyreek Hill, Bourne, Hunter Henry, Poyer & Folk. I had none chance. CBS had it at 10%.

Tyreek laid a 4.4 point egg on SNF, then the weather showed up in Buffalo. BB ran 32 times in a row, and the rest is history. Lock for the playoffs either as the 1-seed, division leader or at worst the WC, with the weakest team left up next to clinch my division. But that all took some serious mojo - none left for the subscriber contest.

It was a fun year - this experience gave me a little more insight on my strategy for next year. I am proud to have made it to week 13, and I'll be rooting for the rest of y'all.

:hifive:

Paging @kyter1, please post your spreadsheet with new ownership numbers.  Thanx a million in advance.  Getting down to the nitty gritty here!

I missed the cut this week, for just the second time all season. Injuries adding up with Kamara, Waller, Deebo, AB, Toney, and Fields joining MT & Edwards on the bench. Only got 3 TDs from my entire team: Michel, Bridgewater, and Cowboys D.

I am still in it but one thing I have to do is write down somewhere lessons learned (and then promptly misplace it).

One thing I mentioned in this thread is that I think spending little money on running backs is the way to go. Get two excellent qbs (if prices remain similar next year) and put the money towards receiver. Running backs are just way to unpredictable with injuries.

yeah I hadn't really commented since the contest very first started and kept advancing so didn't want to ruin the mojo/karma....thanks for the official kiss of death now btw.... :wall:

went TE heavy hoping to use the 1.5 PPR to secure some flex options....cheap WR's but with maybe big play ability that could ham and egg usable scores on fewer targets/receptions....
@TheWinz....thanks bruh....

Due to byes/injuries will be down Stevenson, Pittman, Corey Davis, and the Eagles def

Could be a lot worse. I need Mooney or Callaway to have a good game.

Still have

Herbert/Burrow

Chubb/Gibson/Robinson/Pollard/Michel

Kupp/Mooney/Callaway/Nico Collins/B Edwards

Kittle/Andrews/Everett

All 3 kickers

2 def

Colts/Dolphins/Patriots/Eagles on bye this week

I will find you a team that needs to worry.  Gimme a few...

Still chugging along. My core of Brady, Ekeler, Kupp, Kelce is keeping me in it every week. My three-headed kicking squad is averaging about 13 points a week and my defensive tandem at even 10 per week sure don’t hurt either.

I had a mix of studs & low dollar guys.

Chubb, Najee Harris & Henderson won me many weeks. They were anchors. Also Stephenson won me a week or 2 & a couple other scrubs helped.

The problem I see with going all scrubs is that they don’t all hit. It’s a post hoc fallacy to look at the backups who hit big & say, “see, you don’t need studs - they get hurt and the backups are the way to go!”

I’ve been guilty of that mindset as well, so please take this as constructive.

You just don’t know when the stud get hurt. While waiting for CMC & Stephenson & Perine, Booker, Jamaal Williams, Darrell Williams types, you might just get eliminated.

IMO you need a balance of anchors & upside cheap backups.

Obvioisly striking gold on a CPAT is ideal, but literally no one saw that coming.

Also a lot depends on how they price the field next year. I’m already looking forward to it.

Oh, I ain't missing it next year.  This has sucked sitting on the sidelines all year.  I let my paid subscription expire because I thought I was taking the year off, but got sucked back in, and it was too late.

Just assume you’ll always get sucked back in. Fantasy football is basically Hotel California. You can check out any time you lIke, but you can never leave.

Back again, with an update on defense survival rates.

DAL ($2) (34/683 = 4.98%)
HOU ($2) (5/107 = 4.67%)
NYJ ($2) (10/273 = 3.66%)
LAC ($4) (11/302 = 3.64%)
TEN ($2) (25/703 = 3.56%)
BUF ($4) (36/1025 = 3.51%)
MIN ($3) (16/488 = 3.28%)
GB ($2) (45/1395 = 3.23%)
PHI ($2) (28/898 = 3.12%)
DET ($2) (3/98 = 3.06%)
ARI ($3) (8/263 = 3.04%)
MIA ($4) (19/634 = 3.00%)
CLE ($3) (62/2069 = 3.00%)
NYG ($3) (9/302 = 2.98%)
NO ($4) (5/176 = 2.84%)
IND ($4) (15/566 = 2.65%)
DEN ($3) (68/2586 = 2.63%)
SF ($4) (42/1630 = 2.58%)
LV ($2) (6/244 = 2.46%)
TB ($7) (14/576 = 2.43%)
CAR ($3) (9/381 = 2.36%)
NE ($6) (14/644 = 2.17%)
CIN ($2) (3/146 = 2.05%)
JAC ($2) (4/205 = 1.95%)
BAL ($5) (13/683 = 1.90%)
ATL ($2) (4/215 = 1.86%)
WAS ($5) (43/2361 = 1.82%)
CHI ($3) (22/1317 = 1.67%)
LAR ($6) (12/820 = 1.46%)
PIT ($7) (6/537 = 1.12%)
SEA ($4) (1/195 = 0.51%)
KC ($5) (1/215 = 0.47%)

I wonder why the only 7 defenses $5 and up are in the bottom half of survival rates?  Maybe it's because they haven't scored well?  Nope, that ain't it - NE & TB are 2 of the top 3 scorers.  Hmmm???
