2021 Las Vegas Raiders - PLAYOFFS!!!! (3 Viewers)

And Carr with yet another 4th Qtr comeback. Wish he'd play entire games with the same aggressiveness he plays with when his back is to the wall.

I’ve been saying this forever. And can we srop trying to be Payton Manning and not bring the playclock down to sub 1 second, multiple times. Wasting time outs and or taking penalties?  Tia.

Carr is a frustrating dude to watch. But, a win is a win.

And as has been pointed out by people in here before.....STOP THROWING DEEP BALLS TO ZAY JONES.  Why is Desean Jackson on this roster if not for those plays?

And I don’t want to hear about zay not tracking the ball well. @Chadstroma    :boxing:

the first deep one to him was thrown to the wrong shoulder and way too far inside. On the pick, he overthrew him, with a safety deep,  pretty easy pick.

🤣🤣🤣

Right as I post, don’t blame zay.

🤣🤣🤣
Deep balls are not what Zay does well.  The second one that was picked was definitely on Carr though.  Not sure why he was even throwing that into double coverage on first down in that spot.  I blame the OC for poor player usage.  Deep balls to Zay Jones never end well.  We have a guy on the roster that specializes in deep balls yet they rarely use him for that.

The first one I mentioned was 100% on carr as well. Zay was covered pretty well, but the ball was uncatchable

Zay did get the PI call.

zay gives 100% effort, which is a good thing. I think Carr sees that and respects it. Djax curling into a little ball and falling to ground, to avoid being hit, on his first catch, made me scream at the tv.

That was me. And he still tracked that first one poorly. He sees the ball late over his shoulder, it's obvious.

:lmao:  On the long ball at first I was wondering if he had a hard time tracking long balls... I was searching my memory and then saw the replay at different abgle and clearly Carr was off but he didn't adjust at all.

Zay is a ball of effort. He can contribute but he isn't a star and doesn't excel on the deep ball.

I can't figure him out honestly... he runs decent routes, he doesn't drop balls, he isn't slow, he works his tail off... just something is missing with him.

he's running to the corner, carr throws it to the post.  no way that's on zay.  obvious
Zay is not good tracking the long ball. What's the problem? His adjustments, if he does anything other than wave at the ball as it hits the ground in front of him in the direction he isn't running, come very late.

He has the athletic talent, otherwise he wouldn't be getting the opportunities but the long ball is definitely his weakness.

I’m not a zay apologist. I’m just tired of carr and the offense’s  mediocrity. Another game. 16 whole points.
Agreed.   And just 16 points against a replacement-level team!!

DeSean Jackson has always tracked the deep ball well.  Use him for goodness sakes.

Things worked out in the end but the Raiders should have been trying to methodically move down the field.   There was no need to throw a deep pass into coverage.

A game that the Raiders didn't deserve to win.   Keeps the playoffs alive mathematically, but I didn't see anything that suggested they can win a wild card game.

I'd like to believe that Carr fumbled out of a reaction to the pain/shock of his ankle being rolled up on.  We've seen it from other players as a response to injury.   But the interception was horrible.  Horrible play call, and a bad throw.  The Browns DB was out there just playing center field, making the easiest catch of his career.   As already mentioned, the long ball game is NOT what Zay Jones should be called on for.   I'd rather see them give Tyron Johnson those targets - isn't that the reason they even brought him to the team?  His speed and ability to stretch the field.

Listen, I like Carr and see him has a top 10 QB - if he has the talent around him.  Which right now he doesn't.  There are problems with the play calling, offensive line, and at the WR position.   He isn't good enough to overcome that deficit.  Many wouldn't be on a week in week out basis.  Hell even Brady looked pedestrian without any help on MNF.

  • The Edwards fumble was a drive killer, and a non-forced error.  He lost the ball while trying to switch hands after about 86 back to back spin moves.  Maybe he needs to take a page out of the DJax book and just fall to the ground after the catch.
  • What happened to Hunter?  Dare I speculate injury to his hands? Two muffed punts and possibly 0 targets in the 2nd half?
  • Abrams injury looked serious to me.  Haven't seen the reports yet, but I suspect shoulder or collarbone.  He was holding his arm in place while he exited the field and headed to the locker room.  Too bad, he was really making a difference and Gus was finally using him to his strengths.
  • I'm like the look of Diablo.  I think he has a chance to develop into a solid starting LB.  Not to be cliché, but I think he just needs the on field reps to get allow him to have the 'game slow down for him'.
  • Based on my rough tally, DJax has done more harm then good with his targets to date.  At best, it's 50/50.

I had to work so I missed the 1st half, and the extremely biased reporting of the NFL Network only showed the Carlson FG for the only Raiders highlights. But there's no conspiracy, anyway...Basically I have no idea what happened. From what I saw, they were barely able to beat the Browns JV team. I know, I know, they're missing players too. Clearly this is not a playoff caliber team. Nice to see them gut out a win but that's about it.

It was the standard and classic Raider game of years past to be honest.  Actually I stand slightly corrected, it didn't have the traditionally 3 yard check downs on 3rd and 8.  Mostly because they did a good job of staying out of 3rd and long.  But the ill timed penalties, poor play calling, untimely turnovers, and an inability or unwillingness to move the ball at will, were all there and healthy.

Never said it was a strength.  Just placing the blame where it should be, on those throws.  On carr.  Again, not a zay apologist.

I know and I'm not a Carr apologist, but I think Zay is so limited in his over the shoulder tracking, I think it is tough to simply say Carr was off.

One of those deep targets to Zay was mostly on Carr for sure but love him or hate him the deep ball is one of Carr's strengths. Wish he was as consistent in the 10-22 yard range as he is on anything shorter or longer.

Those deep throws rely on the ball tracking but also the timing between WR and the QB has to be tight.  The WR needs to get to an anticipated spot in the route, and the QB needs to be able to throw to that spot.   To me, Zay also has challenges in his consistency to get to that spot, which may look to us like over throws.

Not Garrett.  Please
I heard the DC from the Colts name thrown out there the other day. I'm not going to even try to spell his name. But if they go defensive minded HC that probably means they clean house and Bradley and his staff would have to go. I think Bradley has done pretty good given the talent level of players he has to work with.

I am pretty high on the Colts DC.  Bradley is competent, but I would be fine if he was let go.  He is very rigid in his scheme and I would prefer a guy that is more creative and blitzes more.  Blitzing is just not really part of how Bradley runs a defense and his defenses are at the bottom of the league in blitz rate every year.  I think offenses know exactly what they are getting from Bradley and his defenses are easier to attack for good OCs.  If he has the players his defenses are decent enough, but he is not going to do more with less if the personnel is iffy.

Abram undergoing season ending shoulder surgery.
A shame. I saw him walking off the field holding his hand out with his other hand, so I thought it was a broken hand or something, but I guess he was immobilizing his shoulder. See ya next year, kid. Keep studying.

If you can get pressure on the QB without blitzing then you don't need to blitz. Our pressure up the middle seems to have slowed which makes it harder in Yannick and Maxx. Ideally, you get the front 4 getting sacks and pressures and not blitzing much...  blitz just enough to keep things fresh against the pass pro.

Bradley has held the defense together with some lost players.

He's done a decent job, but his defense is very predictable.  Predictable defenses don't generate many sacks or turnovers.  Raiders are 24th in sacks, last in interceptions and 25th in forced fumbles.  It's also frustrating not being able to get off the field on third down which happens to the Raiders more than most teams.  Bradley is ok, but I would not mind having a more creative DC.

The honeymoon is ending with Bradley. Raiders are 30th in total d.

The d has been so bad, for so long, that it’s feels so much better this year. Not so much.

The latest players to land on the reserve/COVID-19 list are safety Roderic Teamer and guard Jermaine Eluemunor. They join cornerbacks Nate Hobbs and Brandon Facyson who were placed on the list Monday and Wednesday respectively.

No shotgun runs for Jacobs yet today on first 16 carries for 82 yards.  It only took 15 weeks, but maybe someone on the coaching staff finally watched some film.

The Las Vegas Raiders remained in the hunt for a playoff berth after a 17-13 win against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. The victory moved Las Vegas to 8-7 on the season while dropping the Broncos, who the Raiders were competing with for a wild-card spot, to 7-8.

so you`re saying there`s a chance
