2021 Las Vegas Raiders - PLAYOFFS!!!! (2 Viewers)

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Raiders QB Marcus Mariota (quad) is expected to miss "multiple weeks."

Mariota was brought in for one play Monday night — a designed 31-yard run from under center — and ended up aggravating his quad in the process. It's the least of Las Vegas' worries ahead of their trip to Pittsburgh with Denzelle Good (torn ACL), Richie Incognito (calf), Josh Jacobs (toe/ankle), and Yannick Ngakoue (hamstring) all nursing injuries.

Limping into week 2 across the country after a feel good flying high win.

I see a let down game in the making  , i hope im wrong and they somehow carry the momentum into Pittsburg

Coming off an emotional Monday game + short week + travel back east for early start time = defeat and possibly a blow out defeat (Remember the Atlanta game LY?)

On top of all of that rumor has it that most of the Raider players still had a blood/alcohol of .16 on Wednesday morning. 🤣

Dead men walking

I think they will play tough in Pittsburgh, might not get the W but remember, they have started fast the past two seasons under Gruden. They play well in Fall, November and December is when they need to start winning.

On offense they're going to need to find a way to run the ball and control the clock to help the defense. James, Simpson and Lemuenoir(sp?) need to play better and get the push needed and control the LOS. It will be tough, but if they do that, they can neutralize Watt and keep Big Ben off the field. If not, it could  just as easily be Najee Harris' breakout game.

Jacobs out this week.  Man this team really banged up for it only being week 2.  Drake signing could really pay off.

gonna be gnarly this week.  hopefully, no more injuries.  maybe carr will involve the wrs a little earlier in the game. ;)

and tricksy gruden is hyping up barber, not drake.     when asked about the opportunity for drake, gruden talked about how they're excited about the opportunity for barber, and they really like barber.

Ok Raider fans. What do you make of the Barber over Drake talk? It doesn't make any sense to me, but do you believe Chucky?
I don't buy it one bit. Raiders used Drake extensively when he was splitting time with Jacobs last week. Barber has some value this week in deep leagues, but I certainly wouldn't start him over Drake.

I think it means he is going to deploy multiple backs just like he did last week.

RAider RBs only got 16 carries and 11 targets.  At most (I mean perfect world, stars aligning, conjunction of spheres type stuff) you can expect a 60% share from any Raider RB.

However I think it if far more likely to anticipate closer to 45-50%, just like last week (44.4% of RB opportunities for Jacobs).

Drake wasn't effective on run plays Monday with 6 for 11 yards. That may be why they are talking up Barber. Regardless, I don't think Gruden has ever rode one back. I do expect Drake to get the majority of the time but Barber will be mixed in well.

To be fair, I think Jacobs clearly being far from 100% and Drakes 1.3 average on the.ground had a good amount to do with using the backs less last week.

Injured Jacobs>>>>healthy Barber (imo) so I have little expectations for a different split @ Pitt

Raiders.com:  Here are the inactive players for today's game:

RB Josh Jacobs

S Roderic Teamer

LB Nick Kwiatkoski

G Jordan Simmons

G Richie Incognito

TE Nick Bowers

DT Damion Square

Devin Bush & Joe Haden both out.

That's good for the offense. Still wouldn't start Barber but gives a little bump to Drake and the rest of the offense.

DC might put it up 50+ times today. Doesn't matter who's running the ball, if the interior Oline doesn't play well, it could be a long day in Pittsburgh today.

WOW.

team looked pretty damn good.

the utter lack of a run game was concerning.

more injuries. :sadbanana:

leavitt still can't tackle.  but the D looks SOOOOOOOOO much better.  if they don't miss a couple tackles(leavitt), pitt would have been lucky to get 10 points.

got some crow in the oven.  can't wait to eat it!!

RRRRAAAAAIIIIIIIIDDDDDDEEEEERRRRRSSSSSS!!!!!!!

it’s like i don’t even know this team anymore, on the road after a short week and we win 🤯
I have underestimated this team but it’s not my fault after the last twenty years of futility.   Having a real defense sure makes a difference but much of the credit goes to Carr.  He is playing like a top 5 QB.  As a Waller owner, it is great to see Ruggs making noise too.  Forcing it to Waller was not going to work all season.    Congrats Raider fans!   Enjoy every win.

I’m eating my share of crow too.   I will eat it every week if it tastes this great.

Only caught the first half and the highlight deep ball to Ruggs plus the last minute or so as I had to take my daughter to her basketball games today. I am looking forward ti the second half and then come back with my thoughts. 🏈
