2021 Philadelphia Eagles - Queued up a playlist of our greatest zits throughout the season for final game (1 Viewer)

I don't have anyone. Opponent has Gibson and I'm up 31PTs I just need Gibson not to go off on us. I just got into the playoffs with a 4 game win streak as a 6th seed and the top teams in my league have all lost big name players in the last few weeks do to covid or injury. If I win tomorrow (Other first round match is decided) the 5 and 6 seeds would've beaten 3-4 in my playoffs. Was kind of hoping I wouldn't make the playoffs because I had a really good chance with my team to win the losers bracket and get the #1 pick next year in our keepers league. Either bracket winning for me is a miracle at this point.
both of mine are in very large leagues with good teams but super stiff competition. One of them is a 4 copy 48 teamer

That's interesting don't think I could ever compete in that. On reddit saw a guy in a league with a your Typical QB 2 RB type line for 3 WRS TE Flext Superflex and a Flex with an option at QB as well. So essentially 12 starters. Looked like 8 man bench too PPR league. Thought that was interesting but the 3 flex's like that I thought was Overkill.

30 man rosters, start 12, TE premium scoring starting two TE required superflex (both of them, though the other is 28 team two copy with near identical scoring)

How we all feeling about Philly D?  I need them to get a dozen or more to have a chance.  Haven't been following who is out from Eagles but WFT sounds hammered.

pretty hard to predict any defense in fantasy, especially these days.  You kinda just gotta hope for a defensive/ST TD which pretty much all teams have about the same odds of.

I have a reserved parking pass. I won the tix at our company Christmas party and the boss was nice enough to throw that in too.
Nice, enjoy the game.  Hopefully you're cheering for us even though you dropped a pretty stiff guarantee preseason that we were an absolute lock to pick top 5 this year.

Good news. NHL stopped play until Sunday. So no traffic worries.

Oh nevermind. Pause doesn't start until Wednesday. You're all still screwed.

after watching Vikings last night i couldn't be happier than having a guy like Siriani. was seriously run-run-pass almsot every single series in the 2nd half. could not have been more predictable.

everybody argues the "run more" or whatever, but all i ask is that a coach adjusts game plans as they learn and adapts to becoming unpredictable. i think we have that, so just happy we don't have the cookie-cutter coaches who will never win the whole thing because they coach scared.

and yes, some of this may be from being a Jefferson and Conklin owner last night that got screwed because Zimmer didn't want to throw against the literal practice squad secondary that the Bears had out there

WFT has 16 players that stayed behind and did not travel with the team to Philly, but most are awaiting test results (including Heinicke and Kyle Allen) and if they are negative, will take a 30-minute charter flight to Philly.

I was upset at the gameplan. Bears had 5 guys with low experience, and NO experience playing TOGETHER. Where was the misdirection? The crossing routes? Seemed like Minny just relied on their guys to beat those young guys man to man....which was so stupid, as that was the ONE THING those inexperienced players knew how to do just fine. The only play they seemed to do this on was the 2nd TD

Wild.  And if all 16 test positive, is there risk of the game cancelled?

Congrats on the win, guys. I didn't even know a bunch of guys on the field for Washington but a game is a game and you won.

sincerely,
Gilbert Gotfried, QB, Washington

Oddly, thought Gilbert fought hard for a guy who was just signed Friday.  He didn't have enough today but he wasn't the reason the WFT lost.  The reason the WFT lost was they couldn't stop the Eagles rushing attack.  But yeah, they were undermanned and that didn't help.  That said, 11 guys played for each team at a time, and Philly executed better.  Congrats guys and we'll see you in a few weeks!

We did what we had to do against a depleted team. Still good to be able to run the ball like we have and great to see Hurts improve as the game went on. At the same time it was concerning how close the game was. Hopefully it was just rust on our part.

4 things I wanted to note, after just getting back from the game:

  1. My seats are 5th row behind the Eagles bench so saw the whole Sirriani tearing Jalen Hurts a new one after the red zone fumble and it was even worse than what the TV cameras caught. Sirianni not only laid into him as Hurts came off the field, but 10-15 seconds later, Sirianni was still livid and looked around to find Hurts again, made a beeline for him, and chewed him out a second time. Sirianni played it off in the press conference as two professionals that have a good relationship being able to have it out like that in a constructive way, but it was clearly not a discussion and Hurts was pretty much ignoring Sirianni, just letting him vent and not giving him any reaction. Don't know if it means anything in the grand scheme of things, but it was definitely surprising to see from "Italian Ted Lasso" and QB Platitudes.
  2. Jalen Reagor was booed, loudly, every time he was announced by the PA as being back to return a punt. And Gainwell got big cheers whenever being announced as being set to received a kickoff. Eagles fans making it known they aren't happy with the special teams decisions.
  3. Speaking of the PA announcer, it seems the Eagles got the memo this week from Darius Slay that he is to only be referred to as "Big Play" Slay. During pregame intros, he was introduced that way, and anytime he was in on a play, the PA announcer used it, too. Even Sirianni corrected a reporter in the post-game presser to call him "Big Play" and not Darius. However, it made for two very awkward moments when Slay got beat badly and the PA guy has to go, "Pass complete to Terry McLaurin for 46 yards, "Big Play" Slay defending" and "John Bates catches the pass for 29 yards, short of the goal line, tackled by "Big Play" Slay.
  4. A guy in our row really had it in for Sirianni, all game, and was heckling him constantly and it seemed like Sirianni never heard any of it with his headphones on and, you know, concentrating on coaching an NFL game. But, after the TD pass to Ward, Sirianni celebrated with the coaches then walked over toward our section, pointed to the guy and gave him the Allen Iverson ear-cup, mocking the guy to talk his smack now. Savage move on top of pretending to ignore the guy all night.

Im glad to see Siriani have that in him. Hurts was flat out atrocious in the first quarter despite what his numbers were. I can’t believe how many people he missed. On the play where he fumbled no one event covered Gainwell who was open for the entire play.

Over their last 7 games, the Eagles are out-rushing their opponents 1501-554.
175+ yards rushing in each of those 7 games, which is the most by a team since the ‘85 Bears and an Eagles team record.

Another interesting stat: 75% of Greg Ward’s catches this season have been touchdowns. He has 3x as many catches for TDs than non-TD catches.

We had a lot of guys get dinged this game too. Will be interesting to see if all are 100% for Sunday but Sirianni made it seem like they’d get a good bit of rest

I like Zim as a coach but as a DC not a HC. He's consistent in getting Minny to the playoffs but the year we played them in the NFCC was a miracle for them.

Since then they've been a consistently avg team with one of the top 5 RBs in the game when healthy, a top 5 WR in the game an an overpaid avg QB. Their defense is terrible inconsistent too.

I was at the game and can confirm the booing. BTW I parked on Passayunk at my brothers place who gave us a day pass and took the Trasker station line of the BSL in. Got home by 11:20 or so. Honestly thinking if my brother is up to it doing that more often. Was so convent and the BSL is only 5 mins walking.

On Sirianni laying into Hurts it's pretty bad. I was talking to my one guy the other day and he said their relationship is good but Nick gets so frustrated with Hurts continuing to make the same mistakes repeatedly he has issues on. Hurts body language at times watching on TV after mistakes gives off the impression of he doesn't seem to care. Not saying he doesn't but thats what his body language says. I'd like to see a little emotion and my bad. Watching Carr on MNF after that INT he was pointing to himself like My bad and thats on me, showing a lot of frustration but cheering on the defense to give them another chance. Hurts body language just comes off as an "oh well doesn't seem to care if it cost the team points". Again not saying he is himself but his body language and how he acts after the fact comes off as such.

Hurts had a good game but lets be clear this is a game he's expected to look good. He was horrible the opening QTR. Guy behind me was literally mocking Hurts of why won't you guys throw the ball. At first everyone was bewildered but then realized he was mocking hurts. First INT was just bad luck on the Eagles. The Fumble was zero excuse for Hurts. The Goedart deep ball the DB missed timed his defense on the play and should've really had a pick. I was in the EZ too where he forced the EZ pass to Smith where he had a guy wide-open Overall a good decent game by Hurts and It was great seeing Sirianni level into some guys.

2nd Half we looked like a different team and this game really shouldn't have been anywhere near as close as It was. Gilbert wasn't why WFT lost either. I had a really fun time and great atmosphere as always. Met my cousin for a drink at Halftime behind the Miller Deck and found out my Former ASD went to the game as the guy he gave them too couldn't attend tonight so he took them and we hung out for a bit. Also I have no voice for tomorrow at work. My store manager also gave me the ok to slack off today because he didn't want me tired out and not enjoy myself tonight which was pretty cool of him.

Regretting a bit the person I took because honestly they weren't really friendly or wanted to meet my cousin or former boss which was kind of off putting to me but didn't make a big deal of it. Like you got a free ticket to a game the least you could do is socialize a bit with my people like I do with yours.

I was siting corning EZ of where WFT come out of the tunnel so I get a nice view of plays developing (My Grandpops are directly on the other side) and one of the reasons I love sitting higher for a football game. That play was just embarrassing. Also the one sack he took in the 1st where I think they brought an extra guy on the blind side, guy next to me said at the same time I did they are bringing 2 on the blind side and Hurts doesn't even see it and checking protections. Sure enough it ended in a sack.

These are the types of plays that frustrate me the most with Hurts or situations. Like this is stuff you should know at this point in your career.

Nice, enjoy the game.  Hopefully you're cheering for us even though you dropped a pretty stiff guarantee preseason that we were an absolute lock to pick top 5 this year.
Yeah, I absolutely dropped the ball on that one. That being said, I wore my Kelce jersey last night proudly.

I don't get Reagor returning punts at all. He catches the ball,  runs straight ahead and gets tackled. No effort to try to fake out the defender, just run straight into the pile for three yards.

It's obvious they are just trying to find some role for him (similar to JJAW and his blocking/ST role), to both justify his position on the depth chart/draft decision and boost his confidence. Interesting to see the way Sirianni is handling him versus Hurts. He goes out of his way to basically coddle Reagor and his ego by hyping up everything he does and showering him with compliments when talking to the media to try and encourage him. But he's getting in Hurts' face in front of the whole team and TV cameras. Knowing how to handle different personalities and what they will or won't respond to is definitely a skill you want in a head coach.

Remains to be seen if it will even matter with Reagor, though. Once it started raining a bit I was convinced he was going to muff a punt but he didn't so that's something? Properly fielding punts, not going backwards, and 3 catches shouldn't be a "great" game for a 1st round pick, but here we are.

I do think Hurts is a guy that can take that kind of reprimand and that's why it's done. He's also the QB so a lot more responsibility. Hurts knew he ####ed up on the fumble. His personality is a good one though. No one needs to here my bad or see him beating himself up or putting a towel over his head. Just suck it up, do better next time you're out there. For the most part he did that.

WE probably should have won this game 41-3 if we don't make mistakes but that's how games get close in the NFL. Mental errors.

Eagles had what 519 yards on offense? how can you possibly be dissapointed on this. Sure they gave up some points too, but by far the offense was pretty impressive. and the Eagles defense admitted they took Washington lightly after the 1st Q and bounced back little later.

considering the overall talent of this team, they are by far playing better than they should be. get some talent in the draft this year on defense and could be more fun to come

I think it’s the opposite. He nearly never just takes the punt and heads up field. He’s always looking to get to the outside and nothing is there for him.

I know people like to rag on Hurts but the entire team played like crap in the first Q. That includes Hurts as well as Goedert, Mialatta, and Slay. From the 2nd Q on they looked much better. The play of the game was the dart Hurts threw to Ward and an amazing catch on his part. Also a tremendous throw and catch to Smith on the sideline.

Hurts ended up with 296 yards passing, and that's with about 120 yards (and 2 TDs) in drops by Goedert.

Did what they needed to do, now hopefully can do the same on a short week against another team they should beat (yeah I know we said that last time).

nice write up. i heard the crowd was pretty sour all game. listening to Birds with Freinds, and they talked about a "Let's Go Brandon" chant at the end of the game?

I mean seriously? take your #### somewhere else. this isn't a political reality, no one cares who you voted for or who you want to "ra-ra" with politics now adays. Go home and scream it in your own house.

and lol, sorry if anyone is all feisty with their politics and did that and is in here. We are in a S^^t* time with politics and it is just soooooo annoying for the rest of us who are just trying to be normal again.

Should have thrown a beer at the dude who felt like he needed to chew out Siriani. Tell him to stop listening to sports radio or whatever and actually try to use his brain. Eagles offense is performing better than the much more talented Cowboys offense at this point and Siriani has done a great job of a coach who actually thinks and adjusts, rather than those so rigid they can't get out of their own way

How can I be disappointed by being up 3 with 11 minutes left, at home, with 15 days of rest, against a team using its 4th QB (who just signed days before), missing countless starters and 7 coaches?! And you’re hitting me with YARDS?

There was some pluses in the game but overall this didn’t move the needle for me at all. I am slightly more concerned than I am impressed for all the reasons I mentioned above. If they’re missing half of what they’re missing, do you still feel we win?

Sirianni and staff have shown a lot of growth as the season's gone on. I like that he chewed out Hurts and it seemed to have worked.

Growth is what we wanted to see this year. Everything else is a bonus.

Goedert did hand them a TD just a few minutes into the game. That was a potential 14 point swing considering he may have scored on that play if not for the drop.

This was more tremendous for Smith and part of the reason Sirianni reamed out Hurts. If they ball is out, on time, it’s a TD. This is a play that looks better for fans but coaches will not be happy with Hurts at all.
I think you're not giving Hurts credit for keeping the play alive long enough to make the throw.

So you guys get the Giants, Skins again (thats kinda weird) and then the Cowboys.

My math is fuzzy but the Cowboys just need to win one of their next 3 games to clinch. If the Cowboys lose to the Skins and Cardinals that last game could be amazing.

WTF did you guys go back to Hurts?

i guess the point is the offense looked good, and the defense did not. sure they should have probably had more pressure on the QB, etc., but i do think it is a talent thing. the team just doesn't have a ton of talent right now on the defensive side

oh sheesh they got rid of the lol emoji. I thought it was a fun comment in jest at the end :)

and man i don't hope your Cowboys lose to the Skins and Cardinals. i am hoping they win one, if not both and can rest in week 18.

i'm also 100% behind Dak having a huge game this week  :football:

I would love to see them use their three first round picks on an O-lineman, a D-lineman, and a linebacker (although a DB is more likely than LB).

also is fun looking into stats after the game. Redskins only had 2 drives (out of 9 maybe) that went for more than 26 yards. i guess i would consider that a win for the defense. and agree about those picks, though i like best player available. if they can get someone to line up on the other side of Devante and move Quez to the slot WR, their skill positions could be pretty sweet.

Mike Williams from the Chargers would be great, but he will be expensive

We'll have to wait for the All-22, but when I saw it live Smith had steps on his defender on the original route (likely for a TD with a good throw) and looked like Hurts didn't pull the trigger. He missed his window, then did a good job keeping the play alive to hit Smith after he doubled back (another "good" part of the play for Smith.)

It's hard to give someone credit for making their job harder and doing things he didnt have to do. We've seen enough QB's here make things more challenging than they should for no good reason.  I know Hurts has that ability and he does well with it but just make the play that's there.

I agree with that.  I also expect us to smash that team given everything we had going in our favor.

The all-22 will show he had a shot and the crowd even reacted to seeing him open as well.

This game to me was almost like someone wanting credit for treating grandmom nice lol.  It's just expected and there's nothing really to take from it, in my opinion.

Hurts has that ability and he does well with it but just make the play that's there.
You're not putting the blame on Hurts for Goedert's drop/int are you?
