After having time to digest the draft, I'd say the Pistons improved their team the most.  Liking their core a lot.

I'm really happy with Houston's haul as well.  They're setting themselves up well for the inevitable playoff run in 2028.

:hifive:  for underlined

:lmao: for the bolded

With Saric due back, I don't see us going after Boucher :2cents:

I think Boucher's a vet min player. If he comes at that, perhaps the Suns give him a backup frontcourt role. Just an inconsistent sloppy undisciplined player. Reminds me of Anthony Randolph. With a new/different coaching staff, very easily could see him in DNP-CD in no time.  Personally not at all a fan of him
Hollinger's rating system says he's worth like $19 million.  The rating system has its quirks but he profiles very well analytically.

ESPN Sources: Outside of the Lakers, there are currently no known teams planning pursuit of sign-and-trades for Nets G Kyrie Irving. No sign-and-trades can be formally discussed until after 6 PM on Thursday. Brooklyn isn't believed to have interest in available Lakers packages

Please please please be true.

Rockets fans have to be loving all these Nets/Kyrie/KD rumors since they own the next four years of nets picks UNPROTECTED via trades or swaps.

Lakers have no huge salaries to send back in a big trade outside of LBJ, AD, and Westbrick and they don't want to give the first two and nobody wants to take the last.  AFAIK they only have their 2027 and 2029 firsts to send to entice someone to eat Westbrook's contract and those would likely have to be unprotected.

That's what the rumors I've read say the Lakers would deal. Would really screw up the franchise for a long long time.

They are already screwed for a long time. Might as well go get Kyrie and try to win it in 2023 and maybe 2024.
I don't feel confident that swapping Westbrook for Irving equals championship. I'm actually pretty doubtful doing that even makes them a threat to make it out of the second round. Irving isn't dependable and they'd have little to nothing beyond their top 3.

Nothing equals championship, but Irving puts them in the mix. That is all you can ask for. Otherwise they should get what they can for AD and Lebron and blow it up, because their roster now is first round exit or less.

Would Brooklyn even do that?  I don't think I would if I were them.  Odds are that Marks won't be around to use either of those picks, and in the short run they have to deal with Westbrook and his contract (on top of Ben Simmons).

Doesn't seem really great to me from a nets perspective, but it might be close to the best they can get. I don't know how that compares to limping through the season with a disgruntled Irving.

They won't but Lakers should move Davis. Then let Bron complain his way out & get some additional future capital. Adding Kyrie isn't winning that team a title either.

BuT cRaIg We GoT ThT tO oFfEr FoR a StUd LiKe KyRiE.

Woj already said that if Irving leaves that Durant is going to demand a trade. The Nets need to pick a lane and max Irving and hope that he, Durant and Simmons are good enough. Plus the Nets role players aren't horrible. If not they need to blow it up and who cares if you take Westbrook back for a year. Trade Kyrie, Durant and anyone else that a team will pay you for.

Personally I think they should just resign Kyrie. They don't have any of their own picks for a few years.

I agree with this, but see the other side too. The Lakers don't need to try to thread the needle. Blow it up and get back some draft capital or go all in and hope for some luck.

I absolutely think he's a cancer but he's got them by the nuts right now.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see a team giving much in return for Kyrie. And that pool of teams that'll have any interest in him (and vice versa) is so small. Maybe they can get some the Knicks youngs and/or picks. Knicks seem to be in on Brunson. And I'd go after him in FA before dealing for Kyrie.

I think Kyrie remains a Net but the Heat IMO would be his destination if not.

Yea what they are doing is legit nuts. They don’t even have first round picks to tank for. They brought Kyrie, now you have to live with it. Beats winning 20 games and watching somebody else make your first-round pick.

They have the leverage with Kyrie and according Zach Lowe, they are making him significant, big $$ offers (just not the guaranteed max).  I'd try and call his bluff and re-sign him for something close to what they are offering rather than trade everything that's not nailed down for assets 5+ years from now.  (Alternatively, I'd just sign him to the max and trade him to the Lakers for the same asset package in 6 months if he's still a problem.)

Yeah, I think they'd actually improve without Kyrie but was hopeful it would trigger a Durant departure.   Durant in Portland sounded fun   :kicksrock:

Kevon Looney is reportedly expected to re-sign with the Warriors.

Loon was absolutely crucial in the Warriors championship run, and it sounds like he's going to pass up more money for the chance to run it back. He's great for the Warriors, but that doesn't translate to fantasy hoops. If he does return to Golden State, he'll have some increased competition for minutes from James Wiseman next

Irving has until Wednesday at 5 PM to file the paperwork on his opt-in. The Nets can still move Irving as an expiring contract, but the opt-in means he's no longer eligible to get the immediate long-term deal he wanted as part of a sign-and-trade.

Normally a small little detail like this means nothing, but this is Kyrie so there is like a 20 percent chance he messes this up?

Is the current version of John Wall good? I’m skeptical.

Hard to say. He had some moments with Houston on a bad team and now had an entire year off.

My guess would be he could be a productive player on a good team if used correctly. So off the bench averaging 20 minutes a night as a 3rd guard, but we haven't seen him in a year so that is a total guess.

What's the vaccination requirement in LA county these days? Is there even one anymore? If Irving somehow ends up in L.A., is he playing home games?

 woj made it quite clear it Irving opted in because he couldn't find a sign and trade.

And Kyrie with his usual cancerous self trying to spin it as he's fulfilling some godly deed with a commitment to the Nets
