Looks like his Instagram account was shut down. I assume some one grabbed him by the scruff of the neck before he did any more damage to his image.
He deleted his social media.
Wouldn’t surprise me if we find out before too long that Powerade backed out of their new sponsorship deal with him. Fun for Ja and his friends to pretend at being thugs right until it starts costing them all money

How long until he says his account was hacked?
Doubt it. He put out a statement.

Not particularly earth shattering but he is acknowledging he did something.

One can only really pretend the "hacked" claim if it was words only.

He posted videos of himself.
Dang deepfakes! Artificial Intelligence,whaddyagonndo

maybe they aren’t pretending, from what i read.

Load management is a problem and the NBA owners are going to address it sooner rather than later.

Just read this today: NBA load management: Is it a problem? How do we know it works? Our experts discuss

It is a round table discussion about load management between David Aldridge, Sam Amick, John Hollinger, Joe Vardon and Mike Vorkunov. It's quite interesting IMO.

One item discussed that may not be understood by all fans is that the load management decisions are generally being made by the teams, not the players, and often against the players' wishes.

Wolves go to California and sweep the Clippers, Lakers, and Kings. And they're (hopefully) getting a 27 year old two time all NBA player back soon.
I’m a bandwagon T-Wolves fan by default. Have been a huge Nickeil Alexander Walker fan since he was drafted. Dude has a wonderful attitude and work ethic—but just has lacked any sort of stability in his first few years in the NBA. Has played under several coaches, has been moved around—and it’s nice to finally see a team that actually uses him. He seems to be fitting in pretty well with the Wolves—and I think that he has a history with coach Finch back from New Orleans.

They could not miss a 3 pointer last night, so annoying.
The Kings shot better from three than the Wolves did.
They shot 0.6% better by the end of the game but made 6 fewer. The Wolves were shooting 60%+ for most of the game. Every time the Kings made a run the Wolves would knock a couple in. To be clear, almost all of them were wide open because the Kings couldn’t guard anyone, so I’m not attributing the win to a flukey shooting performance.

Load management is what happens when the NBA has a goofy schedule with too many games in a short span. Not saying I support it, but I get why teams do it. Plus, Silver has given the players too much power, so he is probably a bit handcuffed as to what he can do.

Fans who complain about going to a game and not seeing this player or that player need to shut it, though. Don't get me wrong, it sucks for the kid whose dad took him to a game to see Steph Curry or LeBron James, and then they don't play, but load management is not a secret. It is clear as day that it happens, so you have to buy a ticket for an NBA game knowing that your favorite star might not play that game for God knows what reason.

Bulls lose at home to the Pacers. As result, the Pacers move past the Bulls into the COVETED #11 seed in the East. They're now also 3 games back in the loss column to #10 Wiz.

I'll never ever get not pulling trigger at deadline. They had a 100+ game sample w/o Lonzo.......you're not any FN good. Nothing worse in sports than being a bad veteran team.

Have any of you guys/gals been hearing about Ja possibly getting up to a 50 game suspension from the league? I saw some stuff on facebook about it—but it all seemed to come from clickbait type of sources. Now—I’m seeing it in these second tier sports sites like fansided…etc. The premise is that because Ja had the gun with him in Denver—that he most likely brought it with him on the team plane. Apparently a member of Reddit says that this is where the league can step in and impose a big punishment—because the CBA has a clause that firearms can’t be brought on any travels involving any NBA related business. I’m still not sure if this is clickbait type stuff or if it’s legit—and was wondering if you guys had heard anything.

I saw somebody clip out a page from the CBA that basically says that there are no firearms allowed near or during any NBA-related event. I would doubt a 50 game ban, but once you include the Pacers' staffer incident where somebody in Ja's car pointed a laser, potentially from a gun, leaving the game, I think this could really end up with a significant suspension.

I said it a few days ago, and I still stand by it, this is giving me Hernandez vibes (again, other than that whole murdering a small handful of people - big caveat).

Something that is getting lost in a lot of the discussion surrounding Ja - there are a lot of people say that Ja is surrounding himself with bad people. From all the stories that have come out, it isn't Ja's crew doing the dumb **** and he's just there for it, it is Ja being the bad guy. It is not his circumstance that is getting him in trouble, it is directly and 100% his own actions. It's been a while since I can remember an NBA player with this much off-court controversy - there have been plenty of worse incidents (Miles Bridges, as an example), but not four concerning stories that hit in less than a couple weeks.

And correct me if I am wrong, but Ja doesn't really have gang/hood type connections and history, right?

Arenas got suspended indefinitely . . . which ended up being 50 games. I’m guessing that’s where the 50 game number is coming from.
You might be onto something. I never thought of that. If that is the precedent—would that mean that a suspension could possibly extend into next year? That seems wild to me. In my mind—I was even thinking that him being suspended for the remainder of this season was probably a giant stretch—but I’m starting to think that something like that could be very well in the range of outcomes. That would be such a bummer way for the Grizzlies to fall out of the realm of being contenders. That would also make the West a lot more difficult to predict.

I just read a few articles and some are saying "indefinitely" which is coming from Taylor Jenkins saying there was no timetable for Ja's return to the team.

How about being a perpetually mediocre team with no true identity, no stockpile of picks, and no owner willing to spend money like the Pacers?
The Haliburton-Mathurin combo seems promising.
Gimme Haliburton over anything the Bulls currently have.

Just no excuse IMO for them not dealing DeRozan. Would have been nice to see this team with Lonzo Ball but I don't think that's happening. Even if Lonzo somehow comes back (and I don't believe he will), possible he's a shell of himself and quickly is forced into retirement

I like that they never really tank. They have Halliburton/Mathurin/Turner, a good coach, and three first round picks this year. Considering they are never going to be a free agent destination, I think they are in a pretty good sot

I don't know entirely know which picks the Pacers have in their bag. I think they have their own and the Celtics and Cavs first round picks. Those two could be 25th or later. I didn't have a good way to make a comparison, so I randomly picked the drafts from 2005-2015. In that time, there were 62 players drafted that have scored 10,000+ points in the regular season. 37 of those were Top 10 picks (out of 110 picks = 33.6%). I didn't break down the other selections, but that left 25 players leftover (out of 550 picks remaining = 4.5%). Obviously, that includes all second round picks, but the point is Top 10 NBA draft picks typically yield much better players than later first or second round picks. IMO, those additional first rounders may not turn into anything noteworthy (which is often the case for picks in that range).

I don't think they would've been able to get much for him. What contender gets a lot better by trading significant assets for a high-volume iso scorer who doesn't shoot 3s well or play much D?

DeRozan is great at what he does, but it's just not a skill set that's going to put a very good team over the top. It's the type of skill set that makes a bad team mediocre, which is unfortunately what he's doing for the Bulls.

derozan is also 33 years old the median nba retirement age is 34 so hes not at the end but he has to sort of be looking at it at least on the not too distant horizon take that to the bank bromigos

Having watched almost every Boston game this season, I have observed that they look tired and sometimes just plain slow these days. I have harped that they were playing some guys too many minutes as the season progressed, and that may be catching up to them. Quickly at 55 minutes played last night had more bounce in his step than most of the C's did in the first quarter. Boston guys lately have been beaten off the dribble in half court sets. On multiple occasions, on Boston's made baskets, they were very lax in getting back on defense and gave up uncontested layups. By 2OT against the Knicks, all the Celtics shots were short, they had no action, had very little ball movement, and just looked drained. Anyone else come to a similar conclusion?

I get it, it was a long game, but they are at it again tonight against the Cavs with some heavy minutes from last night (JT 49, JB 47, Al 46, Grant 44, Smart 39, White 32). Don't see how they have much shot at beating Cleveland.

Not that I'm aware of. But if you wanted to get into the gang life, Memphis is probably one of the easier NBA cities to get into that lifestyle.

I’m sure the Lakers would have thrown their two 1sts along with Westbrook for DeRozan

Memphis is losing patience rapidly with Ja's "wannabe gangster" stunts. We're now getting into nearly half a dozen incidents in the last year or two..... all from a private school kid trying to be something he's just not.

At this point I'm actually hoping Powerade pulls the deal. It wouldn't surprise me if Nike put the Ja1 launch on hold... but sadly we're so close that the shoes have been made.
2 months ago my ticket-buddies and I were discussing adding a 4th ticket and trying to move up from our spot (8 rows off court) due in large part to Ja's part in the team's momentum. If this keeps up I may pull out altogether.
