It's hard for me to imagine what context changes "We can't do it alone." Boston's star player drops 50. You're the MVP and you dropped 15. I don't think the words "We can't do it alone" come out of your mouth there.

I am rooting hard for Denver to win it all. This would be 3 years in a row that a team drafted well, added a few good veterans through trades or free agency has won a title.

It gives the Pistons, Pacers, Magic, Blazers, Kings etc. fans hope that we can compete and win soon.

Game 6 Boston was favoured by 3. We choked that game away when we had the lead near the end.

Game 7 we weren't supposed to win, almost no one gave us a chance. Would you feel differently if we lost by 1 point and covered the spread? I'd rather lose by 30 than by 1.

From what I saw, Embiid was often content to linger on the perimeter on the weak side of the court in the last two games against Boston while his teammates possessed the ball on the opposite side of the court. He didn't come to the ball, he didn't post up much, and there were times when he had Smrt covering him. Not only that, when shots went up, he just stood there and watched and let everyone else battle for a rebound. I don't get how he was not fully engaged. If he is the alpha on the team, he would have made himself be available and front and center. But for some reason he didn't. So, sure, he's right that he can't win on his own and that he didn't touch the ball in the last 4 minutes of Game 6. But he made very little attempt to get the ball or get under the basket where no one could do much with him.

Embiid is getting destroyed here in Philly today. People feel betrayed because so many went to the wall defending this guy only for him to come up so small. Then on top of it his comments about he and James can't do it alone. **** that, man. You just scored 15 points in a game 7 for your ****ing legacy and you're blaming Harris, Maxey, Tucker et al for failing you?! I'm done with this guy.

That quote has been taken way out of context. If you listen to him answer that question in full, he isn't at all throwing the team under the bus.

That said, I am kind of loving all the people ****ting on Embiid after the way he pushed for the MVP in the media then dodged Jokic in Denver.

The dodging Jokic thing is the worst take of all time. Did Jokic then dodge all the other teams when he rested like half of the final 10 games of the season? And don't even pretend he was "injured"

The MVP voting was an absolute landslide. If it was close then I could see ppl saying someone else should have won but it was 73-15.

Embiid probably deserved the mvp but there is no doubt who the best player in the league is. And that’s fine. Embiid is still a superstar.

Hockey is different from Baseball is different from Basketball when it comes to a 7 game series to a point. If a player goes into a slump, gets hurt, etc it makes a huge difference for a game or 2, but should not effect the outcome of the whole series. Same thing when a player gets hot (or a goalie is locked in) it can change the series but teams should adjust.

The philly series was all based on Tatum and Harden. The game 7 debacle was the worst of it as tatum was on fire and Harden was ice cold. The difference is when Tatum is having an off night he can pick up the pace on Defense. Harden has no Defense button. (look at guys like Lebron, Butler, Bam, AD etc. When these guys are having an off shooting night they work harder on D. Harden works harder on flopping)

1. Oklahoma City (1.7% chance) - Wembanyama would be absolutely perfect for the 5-out style that OKC wants to play, immediately making them one of the most fun young teams in the league.
2. Portland (10.5% chance) - Wemby is exactly the kind of two-way rim protector that this roster needs. He and Lillard would be a blast, but this would still be fun if they trade Dame and move forward with a core of Wembanyana, Simons, and Shaedon.
3. Indiana (6.8% chance) - It would be great to see Indiana add a second star to play with Tyrese Haliburton, who I adore.
4. New Orleans (0.5% chance) - Since day 1, New Orleans has needed a stretch 5 to maximize Zion, so Victor would be perfect (just unlikely). Would be #2 on this list if not for Zion's health concerns.
5. Utah (4.5% chance) - Defensively, a frontcourt of Wembanyama and Walker Kessler would be filthy. The Jazz have plenty of future assets and would now have a young centerpiece to build around.

The Timbers have a good following here but let's be honest - MLS is Single A baseball at best. At least with Single A, some of those kids might become stars. MLS is broken down pros chasing a paycheck or guys who were never any good. Look at the World Cup rosters of where the guys play league - its like 2-3% MLS and those guys usually play for Costa Rica or Honduras. MLS is trash.

Thorns games are much better for my money. Those are legit players.
