All the Nuggets except Jokic are having a bad night.
Heat playing excellent defense tonight….that may have a little something to do with it.

What does the Miami defense have to do with KCP and Porter playing like idiots on defense?
Their defense won this game for them you kidding me???

Wut? I was talking about how poorly KCP and Porter played on defense. How does correlate to Miami's defense?

Clearly, Miami's defense equals KCP fouling Heat 3 point shooters and Porter guarding air the entire 1st half.

Jokic not pleased with the officiating this quarter
The officiating was a huge impact. I think I’d prefer Denver to win for the first time, but I have no dog in this fight. That said, I thought the officiating was terrible. Jokic was hit harder on every drive than some of the touch fouls they gave Miami.

Not calling goal tending was gigantic. Only need 2 to win at the end. There has to be a way to stop a game and review out of bounds and goal tending.

Just felt like all the complaining about 2 FTs for Miami turned into giving Miami the call way too much.

Great win for the Heat. I broke down the percentages before—but the Nuggets are a good team when Jokic is a primary scorer—they are a great team when he facilitates the offense through a combination of passing and scoring. Through the first few games of the Minnesota series—the Nuggets had nearly an 18% higher winning percentage when Jokic is not the Nuggets leading scorer vs when he is. Him being the primary scorer inhibits the surrounding talent around him to be as effective as thy can be. To put it in perspective—Jokic put up 28 shots. The rest of the Nuggets starters (Murray, Porter Jr, Gordon, Caldwell Pope) put up a combined 34 shots. As elite as Jokic is, him being a massive scorer makes a dynamic offense a lot more simple to defend.

I still very much like Denver to win the series. I do think that tonight makes the series a lot more interesting and fun versus if the Nuggets went up 2-0. The greedy basketball fan in me feels good knowing that we’re looking at a series that will go at least 5–and has a legitimate shot to go even deeper. Congrats to the Heat fans. Gritty performance.

Can go back and forth all night on the calls. What about the phantom call on Bam that was 3 points handed to the Nuggets?

So the zombie Heat got a puncher's chance tonight?
That's about it IMO. Unless they come up with something novel, they just seem outmatched.
The novelty was hanging around and then going on a run to start the 4th quarter.
That was a helluva run. They were down 8 end of 3rd and went up by 12 in 4th.
They got bailed out with some calls, but their shots were falling and Denver just looked stymied. It's a game of runs, and the Heat picked a great time to put one together.

Boohoo about the refs, everyone but Jokic played like butt especially on defense. I am not even sure Porter knew what day it was.

Miami played a B+ game and deserved to win over the Nuggets D+ game.

Denver was awful on D. It was almost funny watching them lose guys left and right. They were so bad rolling off screens and just defending 3s.

I keep saying Porter because it was so bad compared to game 1. It looked like he was trying to tackle prime Barry Sanders in the openfield.

Ok. Relax, there were some really bad calls and the replays showed it. When you lose by 3 with the last possession they were big. I mean the goal tending was really bad. If you watch how close Bam was to the rim on the replay, you almost wonder how you can’t call it by default.

There was a missed call with Bam fouling Jokic for 3, Jokic flopped on Lowry. It goes both ways. If Denver plays an average game there they win by 10. Refs didn't change that.

Can't complain about refs when they gave the Heat that game with their play.

Like most every NBA game

Blaming the refs will always be there for those who don't want to enjoy a really good game

If the Heat win this series I may have to start an 80s cover band called Jimmy and The Scrubs. They looked great tonight. Huge W in Denver.

I don't think it fits anymore, Butler was great in the first couple rounds and for a couple games against the Celtics, but since the start of game four until now, he has been average at best.

LOL at average at best. He's the heart and soul of that team.

Jimmy at his worst, is better than average

Most of the rest of the guys are still scrubby

I hate this sort of argument. There were bad/missed calls both ways throughout the game. We also know that had calls been different at various points of the game other than the last play, the game would have been different. For example, you can't just assume that calling goaltending = Nuggets win. Perhaps you aren't saying that, but, if you aren't, then what is the point?

Note, I am not a fan of either team, just a fan of good basketball.

He can be the heart and soul and still be playing well below his abilities.

Edit: I actually don't think he is the heart and soul of this team, he is the best player, but Butler didn't bring this culture to the Heat, he joined the Heat because of it.

"Heat Culture"
-Jalen Rose

-Both teams left 2 timeouts, folks think the Nuggets coach blew it not calling timeout at the end, the flip side is you give Spoelstra an opportunity to set his defense.
-Nuggets were down like 12 with about 3 minutes left or something very close to that and they still got off a game tying 3, this is a very impressive team.
-I didn't notice the refs all night but I tend to watch the games with the booth commentary off and music playing while I'm toking

Anyone who think the refs were in it for the heat really weren’t watching this game. The phantom foul on the three pointer for joker, the nuggets murdering Vincent all night with no calls, joker pushing off time and time again with no whistle. It all evens out.

honest NBA question for those who can give me an answer: miami flies home after this game red eye style. does denver fly tonight as well? Bc of the time difference and when you get in does the home team sleep in their beds tonight, practice in Denver tomorrow or just fly to Miami after the game as well? Just curious.
