2022 Las Vegas Raiders (1 Viewer)

Tackling machine CB in IDP usually isn't good - it typically results in a guy that can't cover his guy so gets targeted a ton and he's just cleaning up with the tackles.  There's little year over year consistency with these guys because they are usually the first ones being upgraded the following year.  We'll see, maybe that's not the case, I've never watched the guy play, but this isn't the indicator I like to look at.
🤣🤣🤣. Tough crowd.

3 picks, 11 passes defended, 56 combined tackles. He likes to hit and was a decent ball hawk. I think you’ll like him.

Are we all giving up on Leatherwood developing into a starting RT now?
I don't know if we know where Leatherwood goes. You could spend money for a proven veteran and then kick Leatherwood inside and let him develop to perhaps RT later. Armstead isn't the answer as he is a LT and would be VERY expensive but maybe La'el Collins who is being released could be a perfect fit. I don't think this staff knows Leatherwood yet so thr "safe" route is to get a RT and gave him play RG for sure. I am more comfortable with that then hoping Leatherwood develops enough next year while facing Bosa/Mack, Chubb/Gregory, and Jones/Clark 6 times a year.

Baltimore DBs usually have a good pedigree. I like it, he's probably just as good as any corner they have on the roster at this point.

I think our DE is better than Denver and KC duos... how about LA? Right now, would you trade ours for Bosa/Mack? I think I would but it isn't a given. Mack has slowed a bit since his dominance with us. Still extremely good  but not the same Mack.

I agree. Mack was slowed by injuries, he's still young enough to heal up and dominate. Our very own Chandler Jones is a great example of that. Would I trade? Yeah probably, I think Bosa is the best of all 4 guys, and put Mack on the other side is a little scary.

Raiders have signed OL Alex Bars.

Bars, 26 (6-5/312) has experience at LT, LG, C, RG, and RT.  And has started in 11 of 38 games.

Yea, that is the question... has it been injuries/hurt or has his body slowed (whether from injuries or whatever). If Mack returns to his level with us then there is no question that the Bosa/Mack is better and be a good margin but as we have seen the last couple if years... it is close.

ARob signed for 3 yrs for $46mil ($15+/yr)

at these going rates, I can see the raiders bring in a couple lower tier guys and try to work them in (similar to how we likely felt about the Zay Jones signing a couple of years back to then have him turn into a critical piece last year). Sign a couple of WRs with very little name recognition, draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd, and focus elsewhere.

I’m getting the same vibe as last year. I’m not one that needs the big shiny toy every FA season but I sure was hoping we would have added a little more than the depth guys we signed thus far.

Other than last year NE has a long track record of not going hot and heavy in free agency. We are basically NE West now with McDaniels and Zeigler. Other teams have grabbed NE coaches but I can't recall any hiring a GM and HC from NE at once.

BTW, Bars isn't sexy or exciting but I do like the signing for our Oline. This is a great depth addition. We now have two guys that you can miss and match along most of the line. He played LG, RG and RT at ND AND  LG, C and RG with the Bears. (If wondering, Good is the other flexible lineman). I wonder if they went after him for that flexibility not knowing where Leatherwood should be.

As a side note... ESPN depth chart has Leatherwood starting at bith RG and RT  :lmao:

This aspect is what is keeping me somewhat optimistic still. These depth moves are great. I was really hoping for ARob, one of the top CBs or even a DT or two that have been snapped up elsewhere.

Logan Ryan is a real possibility to LV.  Short version of what I just read was that Graham purposely called a game plan in the 4th preseason NE game that helped highlight Ryan's talents.   He followed Graham to NYG because of that 4th preseason game.

They still definitely need help on the offensive line, but suddenly the Raiders look a lot more competitive in the West.

If Christian Kirk is getting 15 plus million year I think you can justify 20 for davante Adams.

Besides I'm certain they're going to be working on a long-term contract almost immediately.
5/142.

28 average. Means nothing till we see the numbers, but people still like to scream about contracts, cause they dumb

It’s huge money but Adams is the best WR in the league at the moment.  Now a lot of focus must be on the o line and the D.

The AFC W is going to incredible.   I don’t remember a division being so full of talent on all teams on both sides of the ball.
