2022 Las Vegas Raiders (4 Viewers)

If this off-season has taught us anything, at least it shows Ziegler won’t be bashful if the opportunity arises.  Not sure if Mayock could (or would) have done this…

I’m still in shock. I hoped for this from the onset but thought it was a pipe dream. Biggest move the Raiders have made in recent memory. I’m dancing a jig baby!

Dude, David Carr on NFLN standing next to James Jones right now was television gold.

James Jones looking like his girl just dumped him. Jones: "I'm glad the shows over now..."

😂

I really hope people watching prime time TV this year like the AFC West.

What is that, 24 games that could all be prime time?

Oh yea? You gonna sign this and that guy and trade for that guy? Well... we see you that and raise you a Chandler Jones and Davante Adams!!!!

Let's go!!!

Adams, Waller, Renfrow, Moreau, Edwards, Holler.

Jacobs, Drake and Bolden in the backfield.

Come on! FREAKING BRING IT Dokeys, Dolts and Chefs... I ain't scared!

What is best about this?

The Packers were willing to match or beat the Raider offer.... Adams WANTED to come to Vegas. WANTED.

This could be really the best day as a Raiders fan I've had.  And I've been around for a looooonng time.  What an offseason!

James Jones just said best, you can have all the pass rushers you want. Derek will be getting the ball outta his hands in a hurry with Adams, Waller and Renfrow on the field.

James Jones was making some great points about how Waller, Renfrow, and Adams get IMMEDIATE separation. So the it doesn't matter how many pass rushers you have they won't get home. And we still have Jacobs. Imagine the Play action game the Raiders could have now.

Now I just need to figure out how I am going to swing trades for 1.01-1.05 in my league this year.

All he cost was a 1 and a 2 in this years draft and of course a boatload of money.
Lots of excited people post here. I have to wonder if this was really that great of a deal for a player that will be 30 next year.

On the hand, what makes me think the Raiders would turn this picks into someone valuable? 🤷‍♂️

They had to make some big moves this year or else they weren't getting out of 4th place in their own division.  Theres nobody at pick 22 that's a game changer like Adams so why not? IMO it was either go all in this year or trade Carr and sit out. Glad they decided to go all in. I'm starting to like this Ziegler kid 😉

at these going rates, I can see the raiders bring in a couple lower tier guys and try to work them in (similar to how we likely felt about the Zay Jones signing a couple of years back to then have him turn into a critical piece last year). Sign a couple of WRs with very little name recognition, draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd, and focus elsewhere.
nailed it!!!!!

;)

Gotta be honest, while it seems like a coup for the raiders, I think the team would be better served tanking this year and trading everything if value and trying again with a rookie from next year's class at qb.  Even with these additions I still don't think it's enough to push them into the top of the division, which is really where you need to be aiming if you're up against the best division in the league.

#Raiders DE Chandler Jones: Three-year, $51M

2022 cap hit: $7.312M

Be forewarned this is gonna be a bit of a Debbie Go Down post...

Let me first say why I like the trade - Adams is a bonafide NFL WR1 and a literal Derek Carr BFF. And the Raiders had a couple tumbleweeds headlining their outside WR depth chart until today. Understated to say this is a massive upgrade for this offense.

BUT, I'm struggling to reconcile the cost involved (premium picks + unreal cap%) on a *WR* when the Raiders trench talent is also fielding several tumbleweeds right now on both sides of the ball. This especially when McD has proven time and again that he can field a solid offense without premium outside receivers. Maybe Carr told them he'd sign for a huge discount if they got Adams. I hope so. But something's got to give here cap wise, or the allocation to QB and WR1 won't leave much meat on the bone for other units that also matter very very much.

That plus the consensus thought that this draft is deep in WR talent has my head itchy. For sure, these rookie WRs, even whomever turns out to be the best of them, have a long way to go to match current Adams. And there's the risk on whiffing on the wrong one(s). But when I think of trading down in Rd 1 and still getting a Treylon Burks or Skyy Moore type, plus the additional early-rd defenders, plus all the other players that could be signed with $28 MM per (including Renfrow), my head get more and more itchy. This post was a scratch.

Best WR in the league right now? For a late 1st and 2nd? I would do that all day long. And even more so when you add it to the offense already in place which other than figuring out the line basically completes an offense that can be compared to any other offense in the league.

We are a couple of additions away to being lefit SB contenders that can go up against our insane division and the Buffalo, Cincy, Rams, TB, etc of the league.

La'el Collins and Gilmore would be my wish list for players to get us there. At this point, I don't think you can look at the division and say anyone is the favorite. It is a division the is geared to have 4, not just contenders, but favorites.

Hondo reported that already and made strong insinuation that this was coming from an authoritative source.

I think it's a fair trade. There's no guarantee on those Rookie WRs.  Realistically 50-60% aren't going to pan out. I love Treylon as much as the next guy but I think this is a good move. And as Chad said we might save some $$ on Derek's contract. Also, the Patriots always seem to find good OL talent late in the draft and Leatherwood could turn it around. He's been putting a lot of work in his conditioning this off season.

Plus history of pats drafting WRs…

Expectation is an extension for Carr now.

I thought about this. Carr doesn't get the big endorsement deals that a Brady or Mahomes gets. A way to take perhaps change that (though it certainly would be a huge gamble) would be to take the vet min deal. That would rock the world... a QB who could get $40 million a year doesn't... why? So the team can get more players so they can win. It could not only help win but could end up winning in endorsement deals.
