2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (1 Viewer)

I heard a story about Wentz's time in Philly through a friend of a relative of mine, so not sure it's legit, but it wouldn't be surprising with recent developments.

Wentz had hired a moving company a few years ago- I guess around the time he bought a house in the NJ area. One of the movers was a huge Eagles fan and asked for a picture/autograph, but Wentz did not oblige. Instead, he berated them since he hired them to do a move, and also called the company to complain about it and try to get them fired. Not saying that is legitimate, but seems like he would be the person to do that.

I heard something about this from Jason Kelce's father in Law because Jason and Zach Ertz helped him move into his then new house. The short version is the moving company was late and didn't apologize for their lateness and came up with some BS excuse why they were late. The one mover was one of those over passionate Eagles unbearable fans but apparently was not a Wentz fan and someone told Carson the dude. Wentz wanted the guys he had replaced not for that and them being late but they were not professional about moving a lot of their stuff. They almost broke something pretty personable and valued highly by his wife from her grandmother and they didn't even apologize. So long story short Wentz called the moving company to have them replaced or get his money back and hire new guys.

Some of these moving companies are a bit shady and take you for your money if you aren't careful too. My coworker had movers who broke a new wall of hers plus some furniture and the moving company refused to give her any money back till she lawyered up. After she did that the company was quick with an apology and refund. She still gave them a horrible review online to warn others what happened.

Stories like this you need to be careful with though. Someone told me their brother did work for Jayson Werth when he was with the Phillies and Werth refused to pay him the full amount till he got a lawyer involved. Werrth was known to be a similar personality as Carson (Dude who Jason yelled out over the foul ball was related to one of my managers at my job at the time Long story short I found out from my dad who's a contractor and got suggested to Jayson to handle it that the girls brother did shoddy work and Werth ran into problems so he would not pay full price until it was fixed. Guy refused to fix it so Jayson threatened legal and the guy finished it without being paid in full.  My dad ended up fixing a ton of my friends brothers work and even found issues Werth didn't realize were screwed up. My dad fixed that for free for him though.

I know Wentz is a fraud when it comes to religious stuff. A lot of the religious charity work he does is mostly for tax write offs but you can say that about a ton of athletes and celebs doing that. When I mean religious fraud I'm talking someone who talks how they live through god and all that other stuff but reality is it's to make them look like a better person. Thats where some of the teammates didn't like him happened though.

Didn't get hurt this year. I honestly think the injury thing is just random sometimes. stafford couldn't stay on the field for like his first 4-5 years and now he's been an ironman.

But being benched is definitely a possibility. No Jonathan Taylor in Wash.

Played a full season this year and it's not like WAS doesn't have any weapons or a decent Offensive Line. Played all 17 games this year too behind a worse line
He was banged up quite a few times IIRC and on the verge of missing games. He definitely plays through injuries and is tougher physically than given credit for. Just feels like he can’t put together back to back years injury free.

I didn’t recall Washington’s OL being great but I’m not sure that will be a factor with as long as he holds the ball. No Taylor and a HC like Rivera doesn’t feel like it will mesh well.

Never heard anyone say that ever. In fact he ran the teams bible study while he was here as well. His Faith from everything I was ever told was legit and even to the point he was stubborn with it and his beliefs.

I was told it runs off poorly sometimes. Team was ok with certain stuff mostly because Doug is big on Faith. Only reason I believe this is true is because a customer of mine runs a car dealership where Wentz got a new JEEP and had it descaled with his AO1 Foundation and someone mentioned something to him about it who heard stuff. I was talking to Kelce's Father in-law how Wentz came off with the team and he mentioned stuff about him being a hypocrite of sorts on the faith stuff which rubbed some the wrong way as well. Kelce's Father in law told me this prior to my customer said this.

It's not that he's a fake believer but the fact he'll do certain things to make himself look like a better person not because he's doing it out of his kindness. Plus when he does talk about his faith sometimes he comes across as "too aggressive" if that makes sense.

So I found the actually article of the incident Jeff referred to an as per usually he took a lot of liberties. Sproles was on a training table with Wentz on another with his head down sulking and depressed. Carson was pretty depressed at this time after the torn ACL. Sproles was trying to fire him up and keep him focused with the rehab, maybe extra motivation not sure. No where does it refer to Wentz saying what McLane wrote. There was an incident where Wentz mentioned something to guys but I don't think anyone took what Wentz said wrong as most were thinking the same thing wanting to be with their teammates.

What happens in the long version?

JK buddy love to hear these stories.

that was a mix of both versions. I cut out some stuff that wasn't needed. My Werth story was more to show the cautionary tale of these things. It's why I said I believed the Carson a bit of a fraud with Religion because I've heard similar versions from two different people including someone who knows someone on the actual team.

It just amazes me how many people believe stuff that's been knocked down by more reputable sources because of their hatred for someone and it fits the agenda. I really believe Philly sports fans can be super petty. Don't get me wrong people have a right to be mad at Ben Simmons plus it's fresh. Wentz has been gone for over a year now. McNabb is still hated. Yeah he hasn't helped himself but still and he's been well gone by now. Christ we still have people who hate Andy here.

We act like the bitter ex at times. Its kind of embarrassing.

THAT WHOLE TEAM QUIT THAT DAY BUT IT'S EASIER TO BLAME THE QB FOR SOME PEOPLE THEN LOOK AT THE OVERALL PICTURE OF THAT DAY. Wentz is just being scape goated by Isray who never wanted him and is really impatient and trigger happy.
Nah, we've seen Wentz quit - he literally bailed on the whole team after 2020. He was the one that demanded out. At some point, when we hear the same thing over and over and over - we get the idea.

He doesn't have that "leader" mentality, which you probably need to be a successful NFL QB. But I'm sure we'll hear all the stories in the summer of him shooting hoops and bonding with his team.

Nobody besides Angelo hates Andy.

Yeah if you knew the #### show Doug Pederson was running you'd want out too. I don't blame him for wanting out either. Media talking #### on me with zero proof and coming from cancer teammates, keeping said players on the team etc. It just wasn't a good situation anymore. he has every right to ask out.

Now if you want to talk about quitting we can happily talk about James Harden and Ben Simmons. Calvin Ridley, etc.

You're dislussional if you think Angelo is the only one. I'm constantly in contact with people daily that bring up Andy out of nowhere and how much they hate him. The whole playoffs at work I was hearing people say they didn't want to see KC win because of Andy.

Those are just some 'bad apples'

Why do you continue to defend him?   5 years ago he had potential but thats gone.  He cried his way out and now got shunned by another team.   He's done.  Not worth the words we are typing about him.  Look forward to ending his career this season.

“Howie is such a bad GM he got a 1 and 3 for a guy that got benched after he threw 16 TD, 15 INT and a QBR of 73.

Meanwhile, after 27 TD, 7 INT and a QBR of 95 in Indy, one of the league’s (widely considered) best GM’s can only get 2 3rds.”
Actually it is more than 2 3rds.  One of those 3rds can be a 2nd if Wentz plays 70% snaps in 2022.  They also got a 2nd round bump in 2022, getting #42 and giving #47.

Dodged a bullet!

“CALVIN RIDLEYWR, ATLANTA FALCONS

FOX's Jay Glazer reports the Eagles were close to acquiring Falcons WR Calvin Ridley before his indefinite suspension for gambling.

Glazer had previously reported "a couple of teams" were closing in on a deal, but the Eagles are the first name to leak out. It's a moot point now, as Ridley can't return until 2023 at the earliest. By then, he will be heading into his age-29 campaign with just five games under his belt from the previous two seasons. It's an indication the Eagles will be active in a reasonably strong free agent receiver class. Their corps remains completely woeful behind 2021 first-rounder DeVonta Smith. “

yeah glad they were close and looking for him. i think that is why the Chargers gave Mike Williams so much as well.

would love to be a fly on the wall with Eagles front office right now. i could see them go after DK in Seattle now they look to be rebuilding. i have no idea what a good trade would be because i like them building future draft picks too. Dillard and a 3rd?

I'd give a second for DK. Injuries and the mental issues are still there. Don't think he's worth a first at this point.

Kelce coming back...

Honestly makes me feel better about Hurts tbh. If he thought Hurts was impossible to win with and couldnt improve, you gotta think there's a good chance he doesnt go through another year. Him being willing to come back with this team is promising.

The ironman among all NFL centers, Kelce will have the chance to extend his streak of 122 consecutive regular-season games played. No Eagles center has started that many games in a row since the 1970 merger. He is the first center for any team to start at least 100 straight games since Chris Myers from 2007-14 (123 games). If Kelce plays more than 10 regular-season games next season, he will set a new franchise record among offensive linemen (currently at 159).
Kelce's value to the Eagles extends beyond the playing field. The orator of the greatest championship parade speech ever, Kelce's charitable efforts have impacted several nonprofit organizations in and around the Philadelphia region. Last summer, Kelce served up drinks as a guest bartender in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, to raise money for the Eagles Autism Challenge. Fans flocked to the Jersey Shore to support Kelce and together they raised $100,000 for a cause that is very personal to him and his wife, Kylie.
understatement to say he's one of the good guys in the world.

One more go around for Kelce. Would love to have another miracle season with him dressed as a mummer at the end.

I really hate the notion that Howie is like this worse GM in the NFL. Is he difficult to work with and hard to trust? Absolutely. He's had some high end mistakes but there's about 15-2Os team who's wished they had Howie and the draft and roster success we've had. People fail to give him credit because they hate so much they make excuses why that or this move turned out well similar to Andy's success at times here.

But then again most sports fans IQ of an overall sport is pretty low and all they can debate with is all star/pro bowls and championships. I believe over over half our starters this past season were actually drafted by Roseman which says a lot about a GM right there.

Might as well try and get Jamal Adams as well. Adams/DK for a 3rd this year, 2nd next year Dillard and Miles Sanders?

Also theres a rumor that SEA might not be in total rebuild and could be after Watson now.

ATL should take a ton of credit for not trying to weasel Ridley into another team knowing what was happening and backing out of trades.

Eagles taking the spotlight from the 76ers tonight. In all seriousness all the national coverage that would've been put on that game got stolen by MLB ending their lockout. Now if The Phillies can get involved here and sign Freddie Freeman and a big time starter tonight.

"Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman previously conducted significant due diligence on Watson before last season. The Eagles even sent an investigator to Houston to look into the legal situation and contact Rusty Hardin, Watson’s attorney, per sources. However, Watson has never been inclined to waive his no-trade clause for the Eagles. Moreover, Philadelphia has publicly committed to Jalen Hurts as their quarterback." [Pro Football Network]

Also CHI is sending LA Charger Khalil Mack to reign terror on these AFC West QBs with Joey Bosa. All LA had to do was a send a 2nd and 6th rounders this year and take ALL of Mack's contract.

The "Teams are calling the Eagles about Fletcher Cox" reports are popping up again. Wouldn't be surprised if that's being seeded by Howie because they are trying to generate some offers before they cut him (with a post-June 1st designation.)

Two 2022 firsts, 2024 1st, 2023 2nd, Hurts, Cox, Dillard. Nobody tops that.

I saw the news and listened to Watson. He seems spent. And now the Civil cases begin. If we get Watson he better be cheaper now.

I've heard that Pitt or someone made an offer for him during the season before the deadline. Rumors where both clubs would go back to it during the offseason though. I'm wondering if the Raiders take more interest after extending Mad Max though. They need better interior guys and with a stacked QB division Cox could wreck havoc on their DLine or even going to the Chargers.

Buckle up, the Deshaun Watson trade rumor floodgates just got opened…

I heard We weren't interested anymore. Apparently Howie sent a PI last year to Hou (Wasn't this year like some headlines suggested and didn't come back too happy with what was found. Plus Watson has a full no trade clause and apparently doesn't want to come here. Reports are HOU is letting him be involved in all the trade talks.

I'm only trading for him if I know nothing else happens and what if any suspension is like that the NFL might do anyway. Also anyway the team can protect themselves legally if something else comes up.

Sounds like Team personal departments who sent their own PI's to check on Watson are not happy. Saw something on Twitter today that backs up what I heard from an Eagles stand point and sounds like a ton of teams feel similar. Teams aren't happy how Watson handled this lacking responsibility, contrite or willing to accept he's in the wrong. If he did this sounds like more teams would be comfortable with him. HOU is also not happy with him as apparently Watson may have lied to them about the situation to begin with as well. He lacked acknowledging the victims and his lack of understanding the severity of the situation

Civil settlements still need to be made and teams are not willing to pay what is needed to deal with those distractions. Watson from a legal standpoint is doing what you'd expect an accused to do from legal standpoints though.

NFL Personel groups have PI's go investigate Watson come away concerned

Buck and Aikman the new MNF crew. Boy Do I hope they keep Manning Cast going next year as an alternative.

Jalen Hurts has removed Eagles from his Twitter bio.

Who the heck keeps track of that stuff?
Good question on the bolded and in this case it brings up if it's accurate because some people are saying that Hurts never removed anything, he never had QB of the Eagles in his bio. I have no idea but the picture in his bio is him in an Eagles jersey and when players usually do this they don't show themselves representing the team in any way. Hurts also seem like he has A+ character  and not sure he's this petty so not sure on this report.

Hurts never had it in his Bio. I saw his post the other day and it didn't have it and don't remember any other time of him having it. People are just trying to come up with stories now as they are desperate for upgrade
