Man watching USC lose is so much fun.

If they lose again next week, can we make them give back another Heisman trophy?

Lol....he's so good but his defensive coordinator needs to be fired on a tarmac, even though this was a HOME loss. :lmao:
Caleb is a talent, but my goodness I never realized what a pouty front-runner he is.

The team that drafts him next year as he also demands an ownership share of the team has a lot of fun on its hands.

There isn't an NFL team that's scared of taking him 1.01. The rest is just noise.

Michigan has 16 first downs, Sparty has run 16 plays.
Did this really happen?

MSU had more Hitlers on the scoreboard than points tonight.

Game could have easily been 70-0.

Only thing that made it worse were MSUs flat black uniforms or whatever they were. Worst alternates I have ever seen.

Uh, I know what could make it worse. Flashing a giant picture of Hitler on the MSU jumbotron before the game.

Dude, W.T.F???????

I mean, is there ANY grownup at Michigan State to take over operations? It's just unfathomable to me how head-spinningly stupid and tone-deaf this university is right now.
Going back to the Nassar situation, it seems fair to ask if this university will continue with athletics. Just miss after miss and not on borderline, questionable things. Big things like child predators, sexual harassment, and now for good measure, nazis.

I agree. That was all over national college radio tonight while I was driving home.

MSU just never gets it right.

Wow, what was that, Clemson? Dabo has lost his way. That was a ridiculous play call.
Half a yard or less for a TD in OT, and the QB tries to outrun the LB. The DB wasn't fooled either.

I mean, the TV guys were asking out loud how in the world he could line his QB up in the shot-gun, referenced the "Tush Push" and were incredulous Dabo went with that play call. Just idiocy. These guys are paid gazillions of dollars for this? Astounding.

Well, it's not like the Jewish people are being targeted today or anything....oh, wait.

So they ran this video without checking the content.

Again I will ask - are there now grownups in charge at Michigan State? This is just a clown show.

The Iowa fair catch call was very odd. We all know the rule but it’s pretty obvious from the replay that the returner was signaling his blockers to get away from the ball and that none of the Gophers were confused. It seems like a case of a referee demonstrating how smart he is. This is one of those plays that should be non reviewable imo - you can’t let it play out and decide later.

Certainly not going to ride in here as Caleb Williams' biggest fan nor a guy who feels the need to defend him at all costs but I feel like you are nitpicking quite a bit, especially considering you predicted USC to blow Notre Dame out in this very thread.

The problem with USC starts and stops with its defense. There's not a football fan or analyst who would disagree with this assessment. He's not responsible for his teams' hapless defense.

Has he struggled against elite teams? Sure, at times. He was particularly bad against Notre Dame. But I'll say it again, there isn't an NFL team that would pass on him at 1.01 for any other player in college football.

And while you're researching college stats, go look at Josh Allen's numbers at Wyoming his senior year. Yuck. Last I looked, he was a pretty good pro. Meanwhile Mac Jones had incredible college numbers against the very best in college and he's playing for his job right now.

It's hard to put all college QBs in a neat, tiny box but I assure you that Caleb Williams is HIM.

I am not taking personal shots against him. Yeah, I picked USC over ND, but I wouldn’t consider it nitpicking to see how he fared against top 25 competition as who cares if he throws 4 TDs against the sisters of the poor?

He’s come down to earth this year. It makes for interesting consideration for football context. So has Drake Maye as well. JJ McCarthy’s stock is on the rise. It’ll be very interesting how the 1st round shakes out next year with what appears a deep QB class that seems to be compressing more than many expected.

I do think Caleb has been struggling this season more than expected. I’m not exactly sure what the issue is, but I do sense that Riley shares some of the blame. And yes, the defense is not good.

Last night I had a Chance for Hope event so I had to watch the game on replay in the wee hours of the morning and didn’t follow along with this thread. Did anyone else who watched the game think the targeting call on Bear Alexander was BS?

Well, you did call him a "pouty front-runner" so you have taken personal shots but I didn't accuse you of that in my post today.

His 3 year stats - including the ones from OU where he played different competition - are eye popping. 83 TD v 13 INT and for good measure 26 TDs on the ground. And your criticism is he does it only against the Sisters of the Poor? That's silly. And in the same sentence you want to heap praise on JJ McCarthy??? Brother, who has HE played? You can't be serious with this. You cannot seriously be knocking Caleb Williams for padding stats against weak teams while simultaneously pointing to JJ McCarthey as a riser when his team hasn't played ANYBODY and won't until November.

I’m still flabbergasted that teams are trying to convert 4th and short from the shotgun formation. :wall:

Hard to knock Williams for the consistent shortcomings of his head coach.

I'm sure Meijer appreciated having their advertising right next to the pic of Hitler.

Do we have confirmation this is real? The only shot I've seen is this one posted by Barry on Twitter, who is a known (and fabulous) troll.
Well msu issued an apology and fired an employee
I do have to admit it looks a little like a Photoshop but yeah there were a ton of witnesses at the stadium.

You know with the advent of NIL the NCAA is just chomping at the bit to bring the hammer down on someone for something. I can't believe the guy was so brazen about it. Does anyone buy that Harbaugh didn't know about it?

Im not sure what to think about this. I dislike Michigan and am sure Harbaugh knew about this scheme. That said, I don’t understand the concern much less the outrage.

There are two rules that have been potentially broken by Michigan with this alleged scheme. The first is that the NCAA has banned in-person, off-campus scouting of future opponents — a rule that was put in place in 1994 as a cost-cutting measure. The second is the NCAA rule that states “any attempt to record, either through audio or video means, any signals given by an opposing player, coach or other team personnel is prohibited.”

I guess rules are rules but this seems bizarre to me.

I can't think of many people outside of the Michigan haters and NCAA that even care one way or the other honestly. JJ Watt and company summed it up nicely for me. I didn't even know it was against the rules to go watch other teams play. They went down the cheeseburger path. I guess this was next.

I think it’s the standing there and filming the sideline for the entirety of the game part that feels so brazen. If it were just attending the games and taking in the atmosphere I’m with you. If it were legal everyone would do it.

If it's against the rules, punish them with appropriate action. Fine with me. Show us the evidence/case and punish accordingly. I don't really understand the need to do it at all honestly. They already get film that gives them similar information right?

No, they do not get film of the opposing sideline, that’s strictly forbidden. Hence the need to do it if you’re wanting to try and study the other team’s signs. It’s not quite Astros level but it’s pretty close. Did you read that article? If it’s true it’s bad, and it wouldn’t shock me if Harbaugh doesn’t make it through this. Breaking the rules to try and impact the competitive integrity of the game seems like a big deal to me.

if there was any justice and the world wasnt run by money and power politics mi state would not have any athletics any more period take that to the bank brohans

MSU aspiring to fit into the club of the more progressive Universities these days.

This is the rule right?

NCAA Bylaw 11.6.1, which states: "Off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents (in the same season) is prohibited."

I'll say again, if they broke the rules and the evidence supports it, penalize them, but let's not pretend this is something bigger than it is. If the bold is really your bar, then you must think CFB has been in trouble for a REALLY long time.
