2023 Las Vegas Raiders - RIP Jack - one of the greatest Super Bowl moments ever (4 Viewers)

Fumble on 1 yard line followed by a pick in the end zone. Welcome to having Jimmy G as your QB.

Sadly, I feel the pain you’ll endure this year. Luckily you’ll prob only deal with it for 1 season.

this is not how i envisioned this game

I thought the D would be swarming , causing turnovers .

What was i thinking?

Say what you will about this defense but the Raiders are up one with under 8 minutes to play.

I've seen this movie before. The Raiders defense will hold Denver this drive then the Raiders offense runs the clock down to about 1:17 on the clock, punts down to the Broncos eight and the Broncos subsequently make an 8 play 62 yard drive and kick the game winning 47 yard field goal as time expires.

Definitely.

Lock for Denver

Wait...I don't understand. Glitch in the matrix? Something must have changed.

Cue @DA RAIDERS

:lmao: that’s a big f’ing win. I was hoping for a 2-2. 3-1 is now a possibility

17-0 is still on the table.

Happy with the win but.....

Big penalties at critical times were a problem. I can remember at least three that extended drives. A PI early, illegal contact on what would have been a Russell fumble and the roughing the punter.

Still not happy with the defense. Just so bland. Sit back in base D all game and death by a thousand cuts. They did only give up 16 points though so that's a positive.

Meyers looks like a great addition. Hope he doesn't miss too much time.

Where was Mayer?

I cant wait until they figure out how to use Tre Tucker and activate him

Busy yesterday with my daughters basketball games and the place we picked in between games only was playing the Bears game on all 15 TV's in there. :hot: Hoping to catch the game on replay.

From the score, I am not sure if I am more optimistic that they won a close one than I would have been if they blew them out.

But beating the Donkeys for 7 straight times feels good.

Win is a win, but there was a lot of cringe yesterday. Jimmy provides little to zero downfield threat, and missed wide open receivers regularly. His final stat line was ok. I suppose that is just his game, so I am not surprised, just not all that inspired. At Buffalo will be the real test for the Jimmy G Raiders.

To be more fair tho, when it counted the most at the end, G looked his best. That was a welcome change from the most recent vintages of DC.

Offense:
+ legit #2 WR in Meyers
- Renfrow invisible
- Red Zone INT
- running game struggled
+ 0 sacks allowed
-\+ Jimmy not afraid to run for 1st downs. Good because in the clutch it won the game. Bad because that’s how hes gonna get injured.
-/+ need more TE production. Hooper had one great catch. Mayer was out there but he’s a rookie, patience is needed.
~~Overall: the offense was just ok. They need to get the running game back, not just talking about Jacobs getting into game shape but it looked like the Denver D was more physical up front, limiting holes for Jacobs to run through. Jimmy hopefully will spread the ball around more going forward, Renfrow, TEs and more Davante game plan willing. The Red Zone INT was horrible. Take the FG and move on.
Defense:
+ Maxx Crosby was a nightmare.
+ Deablo and Spillane showed up.
+ despite the PI, Bennett looks like he belongs and he’s not afraid to tackle.
+\- Nicols and Koonce didn’t have a big game stats-wise but I think they had a big effect on the game. And if you watch, Nicols was held a lot.
-/+ Tillery is a talented player, but the bonehead mistakes need to go away.
- No TOs, can’t count the fumble recovery because of the Peters penalty but still disappointing since that’s a huge focus for the defense.
Overall: like the offense, the defense did ok. They got the stops at the end of the game that they needed and got the win. Lots to improve on and lots of promising stuff to get cautiously optimistic about. Bottom line they’re 1-0.

Bruno2 nailed it.

Adding on:
+Hobbs in the slot. The man plays his best in that position.
-Moerhig seemed out of position, and unwilling to tackle at times
-Masterson made a critical error on Special Teams, luckily it didn't cost the raiders the game
+/- Mayer looked good in blocking, took a holding call which was absolutely horse dung.
+/- Wilson needs to improve his speed off the snap of the ball.

Mayer is more polished as a receiver than a blocker so that is encouraging to hear. I think he is the most complete TE in the draft but I think that blocking has so much more potential as he cleans up his technique.

With as much time as Wilson lost, being a little slow isn't surprising at this point. I don't know how much time he saw but I know it was more than they expected to give him in the first game because of Jones going Gonzo.

Everyone loves to dunk on Jimmy G. But all the guy does is win football games.
The other 45 guys active during game day might have something to do it with too but if he is on the Raiders I will take whatever win however we get it and don't care where the credit goes.

I appreciate what JimmyG stands for, diving head first for 1st downs etc, etc… But after only one game in Silver & Black I now understand why he’s injured all the time. It’s week 1 and we’ve already seen Hoyer in game action. That’s concerning to me.

Just be grateful you finally moved on from Carr and not stuck in football purgatory.
