2023 Las Vegas Raiders - RIP Jack - one of the greatest Super Bowl moments ever (1 Viewer)

The only similarity was speed.

Way off. Your anti-Ruggs, anti-Gruden mind was closed. Body type wasn't similar. Game was, very much.
We’ve been through this as nauseum. Gonna have to agree to disagree. And my Gruden hate in regards to ruggs only crosses over to ruggs because he was the wrong choice. As was every pick in that class. Except for maybe Simpson.

My anti ruggs stance is based solely in what I saw on the field vs where he was drafted. He’s much closer to devonte smith, Jameson Williams, jaylen waddle. Tyreek is a generational talent. Dude is different. I don’t think anyone in todays game compares to him. flowers has some of that short burst speed in small spaces, but the sample size is nearly non existent.

Not offended at all. Ruggs committed a stupid act, but was a heckuva player. Leaps better period than Jarry Judy, and a better deep threat than Lamb. No telling how much he could've improved had he not had his incredibly idiotic 22-yr-old moment. Very very few players have Tyreek-like ability, or even remotely close. He had Tyreek-like ability.
No he didn’t. The only player that has come along that has tyreek flashes is zay flowers. Ruggs was a bean poll. Tyreek is a fire hydrant. The only similarity was speed. Tyreek also has the best high point and hands in recent memory
5'11" 188 pounds
5'10" 191 pounds

Hardly a difference in body type.
Here we go again. I posted pics of the 2 when we did this before. Tyreek is a fire hydrant. Dude is jacked. Ruggs was lean and flowing. Look at some pics.
that’s like saying dk metcalf and Mike evans have the same body type. 6-4 235 vs 6-5 231

I don't know what to tell you... unless those numbers are wrong, 1 inch and 3 pounds is just not a significant difference in body type.

Well not everyone will agree about whether or not who the Raiders drafted was a good pick at that ADP , one thing we can ALL agree on ,is they have had way more misses than hits , and im talking for decades now .

I think i speak for everyone when i say that we are all just tired of it and as fans we deserve a better product for our loyalty, and the money we invest in the Raider product. I dont see the sense in arguing over the picks they have made . Lets hope , as we do every year, that they get it right from now on .

There is no sense arguing over it since we can’t chamge the past. However, LV better learn from the past because being a Raider fan has sucked for almost every year of the last 20 years. Eventually the stadium will be pretty barren of Raider fans and it will be mostly tourists just catching a game after blowing money at casinos for a couple of days. It frustrates me that I can’t figure out why the team continues to make such poor decisions. Many draft choices just don’t make sense year after year.

Shelby Harris
Travis Carrie
Jon Feliciano
Jihad Ward
Maurice Hurst
Arden Key
John Simpson

All currently or recently helping other teams.
"Helping" is a very generous term regarding these donkeys. And by that token:

Jermaine Eluemunor
Austin Hooper
Jakobi Meyers
Ameer Abdullah
John Jenkins
Jerry Tillery
Bilal Powell
Robert Spillane
Marcus Peters
Marcus Epps

All currently or recently "helping" not the team that drafted them.

We're going to have misses and we're going to have guys move on and be productive elsewhere. No one hits on everyone and keeps them all. IDC about a few journeymen here and there. I care about getting our big picks right. Ruggs was fine and could have been a big weapon had he stayed on the field but now we'll never know. Any other conversation is purely 20/20. If Lamb was Jeudy'ing the Cowdonk fans would be crying that they didn't draft Jefferson. Hell half of the Lamb vs. Ruggs debate is because Lamb has a money-*** QB getting him the ball. Put Ruggs with Dak and he'd be killing it (on the field, not people and dogs) too.

New coach motivation. Short term spike. Back to a pumpkin starting this week.

Smails like a Dolphin right here.
It’s a tough game for the Raiders. Miami is no joke.
Achane is practicing again too. They don’t have the talent on the back end to keep up with Hill and Waddle. And with the offense barely scoring 20 pts, it could get ugly. Unless someone on the Dline steps up and helps Maxx (talking to you Tyree).

its the exact opposite situation from last week vs the Jets

This week the Raiders offense has to go toe to toe with Miami IN Miami ,scoring at the same pace if the defense cant contain them , which will be nearly impossible .Only chance is running the ball .

With Ramsey and Xavien covering Myers and Adams it comes down to 2 rookies , Mayer and Tucker and of course 3rd and Renfrow (i think Renfrow gets fed a lot this game ). Long sustained drives is the only answer , cant settle for field goals. I know im not breaking ground here as we all already know this . If the Raiders pull this off it will be nothing short of amazing .

Raiders have release Fullback Jakob Johnson
Johnson is an undrafted 28-year-old back out of Tennessee who played three seasons for the New England Patriots before coming over to the Raiders with now-former head coach Josh McDaniels. The FB was mostly a special teams contributor early in the season, but he has been inactive for the two games since the team dismissed McDaniels and offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi.

Could get ugly this week. AOC’s first game in front of an opposing crowd, vs a well-rested defense that has been trending up.

Not sure how the Raiders are gonna match the speed of Tyreek and company.

I feel a lot better having the current coaching staff coaching this game than the Patriots staff we had 3 weeks ago

Loads better. Shackles coming off AOC this weekend, I predict.

Agreed , and i see Mayer ,Renfrow and Tucker getting more involved

did the team look unprepared the last 2 weeks?

the circumstances are better going into this game than the last 2. physical teams tend to wear opponents down and that's become the raiders style under coach AP.

Ive never enjoyed watching daily pressers from football coaches , but man i love watching Coach AP , hes always so positive , his verbiage is a breath of fresh air .

I liked watching Grudens now and then, he has so much personality , and the faces he made ,made me lol.

Agreed. Problem with that is if Miami gets a couple big play TDs early and the Raiders get behind they will most likely have to abandon the run to try to keep up. They can’t let the game become shootout or it’ll be a long day.
And it won’t hurt if the Fins do what the Jets did last week and drop some catches, turn the ball over and just make some all around dumb plays to keep the Raiders in it.

I feel like our reason for concern stems mostly from the past teams that we've watched. teams that fell apart once games started to turn against them.

this current team didn't quit under a horrible coach and now they have a coach in AP who they love and respect. there is talent on the team on the offensive side of the ball, it just wasn't being utilized under mcdaniels. the defenses they've played in the last 2 games were not something to overlook.

at some point aoc is going to be able to turn it up on the field and he did prove he could do that at the college level. the talent around him on offense is built for him to succeed

My concern this week comes from playing at 1:00 PM EST in Miami. The Raiders seem to have a 1:00 EST game every year where the team just does not show up at all. I think back to:

2022 At New Orleans 24-0 and barely crossed midfield
2021 At KC 48-9
2020 At Atlanta 43-6
2019 At Jets 34-3

Hopefully the Bear game was already that game this year.

skip ahead to the 3:02 mark

“Certain things travel. Good defense, running game. Just take it with you… pack it up”Love this dude!!

AP addressed this topic at Mondays PC . He has a very old school approach to traveling.

It could get ugly but it doesn't have anything to do with being in the other teams field.

This trend has been in play for 20ish years. Eastern time zones are usually a disaster. The bears aren’t in the eastern time zone

we've already seen other teams slow down the dolphins offense. they are not some unbeatable juggernaut. I wouldn't place them as a super bowl contender. fun team to watch and they look like a lock for the playoffs. the jets defense worried me more going into that game.

It's the time of the game that seems to matter. The Bears game was the same time as the others I mentioned.

 Something about that east coast time zone destroys the raiders. All west coast teams struggle, but the raiders are the worst.

To be fair, the Raiders have a pretty bad record everywhere for the last twenty years. Bad teams have a really hard time with any additional adversity.

I have no doubt that coach AP has a solid gameplan for tomorrow and that the Raiders will execute it with pride and belief. Ball control and defense, with a ready pivot to air it out if they fall behind by two+ scores at any point. Tell you what though, if the Dolphins aren't ahead by more than two scores to start Q4, the Raiders have a shot. Phish better muzzle AP's dawgs early or they may get bit late.

No doubt, but there has been a game every year that has been horrible even by bad team standards. A game where you can tell in the first quarter that the team is not going to show up at all and that game has been in the early window every year for the Raiders. I have hope and belief that AP will not let that happen to the Raiders. Today is a nice test after two weeks of playing bad teams at home.

I am not disagreeing with you. The Raiders have a history of not showing up to games and that is likely due to poor coaching/leadership. It will be interesting to see how hard the team plays under AP when games begin to go south.

The Dolphins are a tough team in general and I think they are a mismatch for us right now on the defensive side of the ball.

Offensively, there is no doubt that this is Jacobs game to win or lose for us. He will be the offense today. They will try to pound the Dolphins to the dust but the problem is if our defense can't slow them down then we will end up having to throw a lot to get in and I don't think we can win a shoot out with the Dolphins right now.

I am prepared for a loss. Would love to see a win. But if we hand in tough and make it a game, then I think that would show progress from what we have seen over the last 20 years let alone the last year and a half.

Well said. The Raiders simply don’t have the talent on D to stop Miami or the talent on O keep up with them.
