2024-25 NBA Thread: Thunder starting to question having 140 pound guy playing in post in Finals (52 Viewers)

These are the kinds of games the Thunder need to develop into a championship team, but they were not up to the test tonight. Felt a lot like the series against Dallas last year, really bad offense.

OKC kept going to the double bigs on the defensive end, but it stagnates the offense. Even if Porter and Gordon cool down a little, Jokic won’t go 0-11 again. I wonder what the OKC adjustment is next game, I thought they looked much better with Caruso on the court.

I think Dez is a Cavs fan...

I really l wish the Cavs fans that were posting after game one and two were in here tonight. Wonder what is different?
Important couple of days. Happily surprised Hunter returned and am not worried about his injury continuing to be a problem. How do Garland and Mobley's bad wheels respond? If it's well, then I feel the same as earlier this week- Cavs in 7

Love the way the Cavaliers play

Should they get by the Pacers, I'll be rooting for them

I think they'll continue the double big look in the clutch - they won't be this bad offensively and if they go Chet at center, Jokic will back him down into the basket on every trip down.

Obviously the key for the Nuggets is to keep it close until late when they will out execute the Thunder pretty consistently and hope the better process will lead to good results. For OKC, they can't let Denver hang around that late.

Even if the Nuggets lose the series, I'm impressed with Adleman and think he's the man for the job going forward.

I'm just glad they're starting to get healthy. Those first two games vs. Indy weren't that fair and they still managed to remain competitive.

I am a bit torn though. If NYK wins, I want to see them play Indy. If BOS wins, then it better be CLE dammit (i.e. Pacers would lose)

I gave the NBA crap last Sunday for scheduling, so I have to praise them for today. 3:30 and 8:30 start is pretty good. Nice dinner break in the middle.

Trade rumors heating up in Houston with lots of talk re Morant. I'd do this in a heartbeat if I were Stone

Rockets Receive: Ja Morant and Jay Huff

Grizzlies Receive: Fred VanVleet, Cam Whitmore, 2025 first-round pick (via PHX) and 2028 first-round pick (top-four protected)

I'd do it in a heartbeat if I were Kleiman.

Ja's a lost cause. PPG has dropped each of the last 3 seasons moving into his prime. Has played 65 games just once, in his rookie year. His game just hasn't developed, and it doesn't seem like he's going to grow enough of a brain to stay out of trouble with the gun obsession.

Well at least he'll be in Texas where that type of thing is often encouraged ;)

The Warriors are making this game tough to watch. Their defense is really good and keeping the Twolves from getting a good rhythm, but their offense is so awful without Steph is unwatchable. I am not sure I can stay up for this.

I know Ja is getting into disappointment-ville but why would Memphis do this. I’d rather just hope he comes back around than take that package.

Nothing surprises me in the NBA after that Luka trade. Maybe the Grizz are really trying to start the process and blow it up? If not, seems like Jalen and picks would make more sense.

Although if that Phoenix pick comes in at #1 tomorrow, it's a completely different story.

I am starting to think the winner of the OKC/Den series isn't just winning the West, but the title. I don't think Golden State has enough offense, T Wolves and Celtics have too many cold streaks, the Cavs are really banged up and thr Knicks and Pacers don't play enough defense.
