If this happens, it will be only the third week this century that PSU has been rated that high in the AP poll. The last time (2017) ended with a loss to tOSU who we play in 2 weeks.

I have seen it thrown once. And it was egregious.
A reason ball carriers do not get penalized is that most of the time when they put the head down, it is not aimed at a player. The defenders are always aiming at the ball carrier.

The two minute Timeout was added to give a better defined timing mark for the changes with the clock. Before the two minute warning, under 2:00, the clock stopped temporarily for 1st downs and stopped until the snap for plays that ended out of bounds. Then under 1:00, zap 10 conditions got added. The goofy part on these were if the play started at 2:01 but ended at 1:52 with a first down, should the clock stop or not. So the two minute time out cleaned all of these items up. All of the item, zap 10, OOB clock stop, first down stop clock, and others are now after the two minute timeout.

TV games are to keep a commercial break saved for this spot as well. So if each quarter has 3 TV TOs, one of the 2nd and 4th quarter TOs will be at that time.

Certainly feels like it is heading in that direction. At least OU didn’t move away from its recruiting base, and Oklahoma produces way more top-end talent at the HS level than Nebraska. But if they whiffed on this Venables hire, which seems more and more likely each week, this could be a rough decade+
