I don't know if Campbell is the guy who will turn this franchise around, and he's made plenty of mistakes, but it's nonetheless kind of amazing to think of the two 0-5 teams. No one is out yet on Campbell, but seemingly everyone has already given up on Meyer.
Not that I'm disagreeing -- in fact, that's exactly how I feel. I think it's largely a case of differing expectations going into the season.
Its my impression that except for the Green Bay game that the Lions have played better in the second half.
Thinking that Lions are making adjustments (probably more on defense) based on what happened in the first half which suggests good coaching and understanding. Its something you didn't see happening often if at all with Quinn/Pat.
Looking for silver linings.
It's a pretty depleted roster, and they lacked talent before all the injuries hit. I actually think DC and his staff are doing a credible job preparing a team that has some rather obvious limitations. Losing sucks, and the way they lost in Weeks 3 & 5 was especially painful. But on talent alone they have no business hanging with either the Ravens or the Vikings.

speaking of injuries, sounds like Quintez Cephus may have a broken collarbone. these guys can't catch a break. we'll know more later today.

silver linings...silver linings...
- ARSB had his best game. 5 of his 7 catches were for first downs.
- Swift continues to have an extremely efficient season, he is one of the top receiving backs in the league. Looked explosive on that late TD run.
- the defense is, IMO, playing over their heads. now it's a relative scale, at times they have been putrid. but on the whole I think Glenn is doing a pretty good job with a crappy hand. we've got UDFAs logging significant snaps in the defensive backfield, and we (as has been the case for the 2+ seasons) have one of the worst LB corps anywhere. the D line is getting. good pressure. we're terrible stopping the run though.
- heckuva play by Reeves-Maybin to rip the ball away from Mattison with under two minutes left.
- loved going for 2 instead of settling for OT. LFG, we can win this right here. great decision and kudos for Goff for finding KhaDarel Hodge - who had never practiced the play they called or run that specific route since joining the team. FWIW, Campbell told Goff before he went out for that last possession "we're going for 2 after we score."
When a company has a defective product, the CEO has to take the heat. Comes with the territory. Campbell is more about leadership than scheme, and he has deferred to Aaron Glenn twice in the last three weeks. Afterward he has defended the decision to rush only 3. I don't agree with the call in either game, I hate anytime we take our foot off the gas on offense or defense. But DC is doing the right thing with the media stuff. He has to have Glenn's back. I wish they would have handled the situation yesterday differently. We think it would have been better to rush 4 or even bring. a blitzer. IDK man, I'm a CPA, dafuq do I know. The whole thing stinks, I hate losing this way.

They're talking about trimming back the playbook to cut down on Goofy's turnovers. The offense is clicking pretty good as far as the RBs go and we have the worst WR room in the league. This is so frustrating. Goofy led all QBs in turnovers over the previous two seasons and is padding those stats this year. A simplified playbook isn't going to help him hold onto the ball better. Freaking teeny hands is the guy we're stuck with for at least two years. I honestly don't know what the answer is, but his turnovers are killing us.

Sewell can move back to RT when Decker comes back. He's been pretty awful the last few weeks. Had an excellent game versus Bosa Week 1 and hasn't matched it since. I think he's a really good player and it's just growing pains, but he has to play better.

We can't be too results oriented this seasons. We're gonna lose 13-15 games. But we are seeing a lot of fight and hustle. With a roster like this, that's about all you can hope for this year.
