he’s going to get enough work even with cmac in the lineup (especially blowouts).I'd drop a WR 4 or extra TE before I'd drop Mason. Let it play out with him.
I felt better about him two years ago.Did people watch Allgeier play football the last two years? Just me?
I think I would try to trade Mason first, before just releasing him. Wright would be a good handcuff. Mason only needs CMC to get hurt to get full time duty, where if Mostert gets hurt, Wright still is only in a time share.Full PPR, start 2 RB and 1 Flex. My RBs are:
Jonathan Taylor
James Conner
Raheem Mostert
Jordan Mason
Debating dropping Mason for Jaylen Wright. Mason needs CMC to get hurt to benefit, but either Achane or Mostert injury helps Wright. And Wright is barely slower than Achane while being much bigger (and hopefully more durable as a result).
I also have 3 IR spots, filled with Jonathan Brooks, Kendre Miller and Keaton Mitchell. I'm not that optimistic about Keaton so if any of my regulars at any position need to grab an IR spot Keaton would be the first to go.
Well I picked up Mason on waivers, so everybody already had a chance to draft him. Probably have to wait a week or two before anybody would be interested.I think I would try to trade Mason first, before just releasing him. Wright would be a good handcuff. Thanks, appreciate the analysis. We do use FAAB, but week 1, 25% (250 / 1000) of FAAB would be a big splash in my league. That was the highest bid in week 1 last year, for RB Joshua Kelley from the Aaron Rodgers manager. Second highest winning bid was 77/1000 for Kendrick Bourne, I got Kyren Williams for 55/1000 (I like the ROI on that one. I couldn't make up my mind between Kelley and Williams so I bid 55 on both).@themeistersinger
If I were in your shoes, I'd absolutely find something, almost anything, to drop, to acquire JWright, you being a Mostert holder. I'm of the opinion that the Mostert/JWright pairing is one of the best roster-building moves available.
...but that 'something, almost anything' wouldn't be Mason, especially if your waivers is simple drop/add, vs FAAB, where someone has to give something of value to acquire him.
Maybe, only one condition: If you are in a League Of Savvy Managers, which uses FAAB waivers, and who's managers know the value of Mason, and will spend FAAB to acquire him...there's this concept known as 'dropping a FAAB grenade', where you drop a valuable Player into the bidding pool, early in the Season, while everyone is flush with cash, hoping someone blows a massive amount of their budget to acquire him.
Sure, they get the valuable Player, but they're severely handicapped the rest of the way, for blind bidding.
Otherwise, stash that dude. He has some standalone value, but IMHO, he's one of the single biggest penny stocks (in your case, having been picked up on waivers), that could absolutely *BOOM*, with an injury to CMC.
I think you should add Samaje Perine to the list, and remove CEH, since he just went on the NFI listIts been weeks since an update and I rehauled the list to include @socrates much welcomed contributions to make this list more complete.
I also bolded some, added their .5 ppr AVG RB rank per Fantasypros and labeled the top #5 RBs you should target in draft.
I also kind of hate that I included some platoon or inherent know starter RBs like D. Montgomery, Jerome Ford, Chase Brown, Zack Moss, Najae Harris, Jaylen Warren, Tyjae Spears, Rico Dowdle, Chubba Hubbard, Jaleel Mclaughlin, JK Dobbins Gus Edwards. They have all since been edited out of the list.

I updated for the cuts today. Why not!? Slow day at the office!
Interested in what you did, big-brained people typically say that its better to cuff other's RBs in this situation, but it is more risky and also more rewarding. In a vaccuum, I would advise holding Wright. He goes higher in drafts and I believe has double the odds for relevancy since Mostert and Achane injury can be the path to relevancy- its like 2 lotto pick rolls in one!Great stuff. And always enjoy these updates. I have Davis and Wright sitting at the end of my bench, and will likely have to cut one before the season kicks off for a kicker. Holding both for now, but both opportunities will be tough to figure. I do own James Cook in the same league, so I guess it will come down to whether I want to own my own handcuff or someone else’s… barring an odd camp/practice injury.

@BobbyLayne I looked at the old threads to see how we did it, and it was a lot like this thread is shaping up where I need to add the update as we go. It might seem dumb, but I don't want to edit my first post to be what the list is now. I like seeing the evolution of the list.
I like the suggestion tho of having current list at top of thread:
I could post the current list on top of the old, but that might be confusing for folks?
I wish I could just pin a post at top of thread. To have best of both worlds.
Maybe next year the play is that I double post the initial rankings and then edit the top one? (Hopefully, I remember that detail)
I haven’t made a decision yet. I have an empty kicker spot for Sunday, so waiting to see how the week plays out and any other news of involvement.Interested in what you did, big-brained people typically say that its better to cuff other's RBs in this situation, but it is more risky and also more rewarding. And FBG consensus rankings has Davis ever so slightly ahead of Wright. They are literally neck and neck, so I'm not really sure that matters, so will just come down to whether or not I want to protect Cook or shoot for more perceived opportunity and upside in Wright. Interestingly, the kicker I want to add is Bass... so my plethora of Buffalo players may continue to grow.I haven’t made a decision yet. My RB room is fairly thin after going zero running back strategy. Cook is my RB1 on my team.
Also own Shakir and Coleman… so if I keep Davis, it’s a lot of Buffalo exposure. BUT… the thought of Cook going down while Wright is still just getting minimal touches may lead me to keep Davis as a security blanket. Have some more days to make a decision.
Did something happen to Ford? I just saw that Foreman had 14 carries and 1 target compared to 7 & 2 for Ford.Short-term options:
- Foreman (CLE)
interesting, I did my slew of podcasts and the idea I heard ranged . Maybe Ford did something that coaching did not like in week 1 or it was instead them trying to preserve Ford for the long term, keep in mind Pierre Strong is dinged up and Foreman getting healthier makes this backfield a bit more dicey. Also considering they won they prolly will keep the rotation in tact which diminishes Ford's value of course.Did something happen to Ford? I just saw that Foreman had 14 carries and 1 target compared to 7 & 2 for Ford.Short-term options:

Or was this just a product of game script where Cleveland was just trying to control the game?
For KC, is it Steele or Perine? Also Kareem Hunt is heading in for a visit.Based on the latest updates, the following players have a good chance of taking the lead role, at least for a couple of weeks:
High-upside handcuffs in case of injuries:
- Z. Charbonnet (SEA)
- C. Steele (KC)
- B. Irving (TB)
Short-term options:
- B. Allen (NYJ)
- T. Allgeier (ATL)
- Foreman (CLE)
Coach Stefanski thought he would be a genius and run more with a washed RB who also fumbled inside the 5 but luckily recovered it.Did something happen to Ford? I just saw that Foreman had 14 carries and 1 target compared to 7 & 2 for Ford.Short-term options:

I vote Steele, he has the most similar skillset to Pacheco?, but I wouldn't break the bank(15-20% faab) since it could be 3+ headed backfield. Don't forget about CEH. But it could pay off big.For KC, is it Steele or Perine? Great analysis. Question - what do the numbers in parantheses stand for?Week 3 Update due to the sheer amount of injuries and who are we kidding we want Kingmakers earlier in the season as patterns emerge!
Colors and Emojis!?
Green is me being excited to get them on the team ASAP
Orange is me thinking they have an update worth mentioning and general monitoring to stash them if you can sooner
its a crown they are current Kingmakers

Yep Shoulder https://www.draftsharks.com/fantasy/injury-history/tank-bigsby/13565Any word on Tank Bigsby's injury? I thought shoulder but post above says concussed?
Not sure if he's worth holding or swapping for another lotto ticket. Eyeing D'Onta Foreman instead.
I guess I will hold on to Emanual WilsonMarShawn Lloyd to 4-week IR
Makes Jacobs one of the few bellows now by default.MarShawn Lloyd to 4-week IR
FYI: MarShawn Lloyd was just put onto IR a few hours ago.Not a lot of talk for Marshawn Lloyd (edit - just saw he landed on IR) . I have him and B. Allen as betterhandcuff options for waivers than KC backfield. KC is gonna be a mess to try and guess which one to play any given week.
I would take Wilson over all of the others on your list, at the moment.Posted in the Ray Davis thread, but adding here to get the groups thoughts on him + a few of these "high-upside handcuff" guys.
- Ray Davis - looks to be behind both Cook & Ty Johnson now? Seems to be an afterthought - we still holding?
- Blake Corum - has literally done nothing all season. IF (when) Kyren gets dinged up, will Corum actually have value or is Ronnie Rivers the next man up now?
- Jaylen Wright - Miami offense in shambles. He still worth a roster spot?
- Emanuel Wilson - worth adding (basically free/ still available in lots of league) - touches creeping up at the expense of Jacobs, but bottled up last week.
